What steps need follow in OWB after changing SERVICE_NAME in RAC

Hi,
Due to some reason we are planning to change the SERVICE_NAME in the RAC environment. We have deployed near about 500 mapping and 10 process flows with the old SERVICE_NAME.Using OMBALTER LOCATION "LOCATION_NAME" SET PROPERTIES(SERVICE_NAME) VALUES ("NEW_SERVICE_NAME")
if we change the SERVICE_NAME to new one what are all the impacts.
1. Whether all mapping and process flows will become invalid?
2. Whether we need to re-deploy all mapping and process flows?
3. What procedure we need to follow?
Oracle DB version 10.2.0.4 and OWB version 10.2.0.4
Regards,
Murali

Hi Murali,
how did you specify address of target database during creating OWB repository (as SQL*Net string or with host/port/service name notation)?
Using OMBALTER LOCATION "LOCATION_NAME" SET PROPERTIES(SERVICE_NAME) VALUES ("NEW_SERVICE_NAME")You won't change locations address in this way (because location is already registered).
Again - how did created locations (with SQL*Net string or with host/port/service name notation)?
Anyway try to look at metalink note 434272.1 "How To Update Warehouse Builder After A Database Cloning" (this note contains reference to utility for changing location address in form host/port/service)

Oleg

    can you please suggest how to shrink this LOB and what steps need to perform.
    during shrinkg of LOB how much undo tablespace is require,and does it create more archive log because LOB size is 320gb.
    this table having function based index also.so we will not shrink it.
    we need to release the space from database this in only big LOB out of my DATABASE its took approx. 80%.
    there is any way we can reclame this space with less time.

  • I do not know what I should phone is locked after changing the operating system

    I do not know what I should phone is locked after changing the operating system , have the original box , receipt lost, Apple said that it is necessary to support the receipt of the first as I can not find the receipt of the first purchase when I moved to another country . I now throw my iPhone ?

    It depends what you mean by 'locked' - it can mean locked by a passcode or linked only to one particular carrier (service provider). If the latter, see the post above; if it's a passcode issue:
    1. Assuming this was bought new and you have set up Activation Lock and forgotten the passcode, please see this page:
    http://www.lifehacker.co.uk/2011/10/24/youve-forgotten-iphones-passcode
    2. If you bought it second-hand (used) - though this is not the impression I get from you post - then only the previous owner can unlock it.

  • What steps need be done after database is moved to another machine

    concurrent manager can not run anymore after i move the 'VIS' database to another machine.
    what steps i need to perform at application side to correct it?

    Hi,
    Have you moved the database or the application as well? This sounds like a cloning / autoconfig issue, but it depends on what you have done so far.
    Kind Regards,

  • Please let me know what steps need to take to convert JApplet to JFrame

    I have an application which needs to convert from JApplet to JFrame....Please let me know what are the steps need to take for this

    I have an application which needs to convert from
    JApplet to JFrame....The topic of this forum is web-start, and it
    can be used to launch both applets and
    applications. An applet deployed using
    web-start avoids a lot of the browser related
    problems that affect 'embedded' applets.
    This leads me to..
    Please let me know what are the steps need to take for this You do not need to convert it, to launch it
    using web-start, but if you are determined to
    make it into a frame, it would be best to ask
    how to do that on a forum where the subject

  • What procedures need followed to change to new ipod?

    I have used and enjoyed my third gen 30 gig ipod for 5 years now, but feel its time to move on and get an 80 gig classic.
    is is just a case now of docking the classic and letting it load everything up? or, as i suspect, i need to do something to tell itunes that the classic is my new ipod, or else it will think i am doing something illegal and wipe my entire itunes library out.
    how do i let itunes know that the old 30 gig one is no more and the new 80 gig one is the one to use from now on?
    also, if i dont have to do that, can i keep both ipods synced to the same library and update both from the same itunes? that way i always would have two ipods to choose from, one for work one for play etc. but both would have the same songs on them?

    You most certainly can keep your old & new iPods synced to the same library. At one point in time, a couple of months ago, I had my Classic, a shuffle, & a video iPod synced with my library, no problems. With your Classic, simply dock it to iTunes, register it, & let iTunes do the rest.

    vamsi.Stopping the Oracle RAC 10g Environment
    The first step is to stop the Oracle instance. When the instance (and related services) is down, then bring down the ASM instance. Finally, shut down the node applications (Virtual IP, GSD, TNS Listener, and ONS).
    $ export ORACLE_SID=orcl1
    $ emctl stop dbconsole
    $ srvctl stop instance -d orcl -i orcl1
    $ srvctl stop asm -n linux1
    $ srvctl stop nodeapps -n linux1
    Starting the Oracle RAC 10g Environment
    The first step is to start the node applications (Virtual IP, GSD, TNS Listener, and ONS). When the node applications are successfully started, then bring up the ASM instance. Finally, bring up the Oracle instance (and related services) and the Enterprise Manager Database console.
    $ export ORACLE_SID=orcl1
    $ srvctl start nodeapps -n linux1
    $ srvctl start asm -n linux1
    $ srvctl start instance -d orcl -i orcl1
    $ emctl start dbconsole
    Start/Stop All Instances with SRVCTL
    Start/stop all the instances and their enabled services. I have included this step just for fun as a way to bring down all instances!
    $ srvctl start database -d orcl
    $ srvctl stop database -d orcl

    Just a minor comment on the stop nodeapps.
    While it is fine to stop the nodeapps on the server, the drawback to this is, that the VIP will not failover if you stop the nodeapps, but will be stopped.
    Hence if you only shutdown one server, then you are causing clients to fail to connect to the VIP and having to wait for the TCP/Timeout.
    So if you are not going to shut down all the server, but just want to shutdown one node, you should failover the VIP the the other node.
    See: Note 749160.1 Vip Does Not Failover When Nodeapps Stopped
    So it is sometimes better instead of stopping the nodeapps, to simply shutdown the cluster with crsctl stop crs (which will failover the VIP).

  • What tasks need to be done after master data is updated on R/3 side.

    Hi all,
    One of end user didn't enter the descriptions for few of the 0costcenters on the R/3 side. Now as he likes to see the descriptions , he's updating the information on R/3 side. What will be the tasks a bw backend person should perform in order to update the descriptions for costcenter.
    I think  they have to run the delta load for 0costcenter master data and do a ACR- Attribute change run.

    Hello
    If its just a descriptions. Then just full Text load for 0Cost_center should be good enough to show them in the BW Reports
    Thanks

    "Itunes store is temporarily unavailable.  Please try agin later"  This is all I am getting since yesterday.  All I am trying to do is buy a song.  Tried different stops to no avail.

    Hello fedupwiththisgovno,
    I found a couple of articles that might help with the issue you are experiencing with the iTunes Store.
    If you are getting a white screen when accessing the iTunes Store, I recommend reviewing this article:
    Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4123
    If you are still not able to access the store or are getting a different error than just a white screen, I recommend the following article:

    Send Apple your basic system information.
    Apple is still waiting to receive the data. If you have already sent it from your device check again.

    Sorry, this is a user to user forum and Apple can not be reached by posting here.
    To get your phone unlocked officially, contact the original carrier and ask  them to start the unlocking process. They will pass the info on to Apple, if unlocking is an option.

  • What steps required in OWB when source gets changed?

    Hi,
    I have a project with source module and target module with different mappings. Everything is working fine. Now I need to change my source database connection and execute the same mappings. What steps are required to implement this changes. Im very new OWB. Kindly give your suggestions.
    Regards
    Kishan

    Patrick,
    To the solution you suggested, I understand after re-registering the source location, we would need to redploy the connector from the target to that source and also all the mappings which are using that source object.
    I was wondering what would be the implications if one drops and recreates the DBLINK in the target schema to point the new source. The only which I am aware of would be to re-compile all the packages which are using that dblinks.

  • After changing the context path, felix console, I can not checkout content via vlt.

    Hi everyone,
    I have the following issue. After changing the context path, via felix console, I can not checkout the content via vlt. Before that, I could checkout without any problems.
    I am using CQ5.5, CRX2.3, context path: /Test
    That is what I am trying:
    vlt -v --credentials admin:admin co http://localhost:23310/Test/server/crx.default
    Connecting via JCR remoting to http://localhost:23310/Test/server
    [WARN ] Authentication required to access repository descriptors
    [ERROR] checkout: com.day.jcr.vault.vlt.VltException: Unable to mount filesystem
    caused by: javax.jcr.ItemNotFoundException: Not Found
    caused by: org.apache.jackrabbit.webdav.DavException: Not Found
    Other versions I tried:
    vlt -v --credentials admin:admin co http://localhost:23310/crx
    vlt --credentials admin:admin co http://localhost:23310/Test/server
    vlt --credentials admin:admin co http://localhost:23310/Test
    vlt --credentials admin:admin co http://localhost:23310/Test/crx
    To verify if I could connect to the instance properly I started CRXDE
    and try to connect to "http://localhost:23310/Test"
    After click the ok button I got that error:

    The VLT works fine with the above URL change but How to fix "CRXDE" Initialization error if a context path is defined?
    I have a context path defined /Test and when I am trying to login to CRXDE with URL as http://localhost:4502/Test, I am getting below Initialization Error.
