What support is available for universities on-boarding to iTune U?

I'm interesting in know what, if any, support Apple provides for iTunes Unversity content providers.  For example, we would probably need help integrating with our in-house authentication methods.  Is there a fee for this kind of support assistance?  What about support for general operation of the iTunes U site?  Thanks.

Hi Kristi
Have you read the admin guide?
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes_u/
When I was building our site I contacted our Apple account manager to ask for some technical support and I was refered to somebody at Apple who helped me with technical issues.
I also attended two Apple Tech Series seminars one for Tunes U public sites and another for private sites. I'm not sure if they still run these as I've not seen them advertised for some time but that would be another question for your Apple account manager.
As an aside I have to say - and I don't wish to be overly critical here - but I think the supoort for iTunes U administrators could be improved. I felt very much 'on my own' when it came to building our iTunes U store. The admin guide is useful but, in my opinion, could be improved (poor navigation and info missing or out of date). The tech support I got from Apple was appreciated but it was a bit ad hoc, I'm not sure that the person I spoke with was an iTunes U expert. Not all of my questions were fully answered and I received some misinformation and in some instances I was refered back to this forum! In the end most of what I learned had to be learnt the hard way through trial and error. It would be really helpful if there was a dedicated technical helpdesk for iTunes U administrators that we could contact for advice and support.

  • OM D support now available for LR4.1; what about LR3?

I'm still on LR3 and don't expect to move up to LR4 for a couple of months. Now that support is available for the Olympus OM D for LR4.1, is it reasonable to assume there will be an LR3 update soon? Or is that just wishful thinking?

Exactly, Adobe has the stand-alone converter available for free. It receivs all the new camera support and builds a backwards-compatible DNG that can be read by older versions of Lightroom.
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=106&platform=Windows is the place to download it. As soon as support for your camera is available you can use it for older version so PS and LR.

  • What updates are available for Mac OS X 10.5.8 (9L30)?

What updates are available for Mac OS X 10.5.8 (9L30)?

Before embarking on a major OS upgrade, it would be wise, advisable and very prudent if you backup your current system to an external connected and Mac formatted Flash drive OR externally connected USB, Thunderbolt or FireWire 800, Mac formatted hard drive. Then, use either OS X Time Machine app to backup your entire system to the external drive OR purchase, install and use a data cloning app, like CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper, to make an exact and bootable copy (clone) of your entire Mac's internal hard drive. This step is really needed in case something goes wrong with the install of the new OS or you simply do not like the new OS, you have a very easy way/procedure to return your Mac to its former working state.
Then, determine if your Mac meets ALL minimum system install requirements.
Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard system requirements
    Purchased Installer disc here.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
To install Snow Leopard for the first time, you must have a Mac with:
    An Intel processor
An internal or external DVD drive, or DVD or CD Sharing
At least 1 GB of RAM (additional RAM is recommended)
A built-in display or a display connected to an Apple-supplied video card supported by your computer
At least 5 GB of disk space available, or 7 GB of disk space if you install the developer tools
Installing and updating OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard to OS X 10.6.8 gives your Mac access to the Mac App Store where you can decide which version of OS X to upgrade to, again, if you desire.
    OS X Lion system requirements
    Purchased emailed download code here.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
To use Lion, make sure your computer has the following:
An Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
Mac OS X v10.6.6 or later to install via the Mac App Store (v10.6.8 recommended)
7 GB of available disk space
    2 GB of RAM
To install OS X  10.8 Mountain Lion or OS X 10.10 Yosemite.you need one of these Macs:
OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion purchased emailed download code here.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6377Z/A/os-x-mountain-lion
    iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later),
    MacBook Pro (15-inch or 17-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
    Your Mac also needs:
OS X Mountain Lion, Lion, or Snow Leopard v10.6.8 already installed
2 GB or more of memory (I strongly advise, at least, 4 GBs of RAM or more)
8 GB or more of available space.
Your year and model Mac can take a total of 6 GBs of RAM, max..
I strongly suggest you install the max. RAM your Mac can take.
Correct, compatible and reliable Mac RAM can ONLY be purchased from online RAM sources Crucial memory or OWC (macsales.com).
OWC is the only source for the  6 GB RAM kit.
    Next,
If you run any older Mac software from the earlier PowerPC Macs, then none of this software will work with the newer OS X versions (10.7 and onward). OS X Snow Leopard had a magical and invisible PowerPC emulation application, called Rosetta, that worked seamlessly in the background that still allowed older PowerPC coded software to still operate in a Intel CPU Mac.
The use of Rosetta ended with OS X Snow Leopard as the Rosetta application was licensed to Apple, from a software company called Transitive, which got bought out, I believe, by IBM and Appe  could no longer secure their rights to continue to use Rosetta in later versions of OS X.
So, you would need to check to see if you have software on your Mac that maybe older than, say, 2006 or older.
Also, check for app compatibilty  here.
    http://roaringapps.com/
If you have any commercial antivirus installed and/or hard drive cleaning apps installed on your Mac, like MacKeeper, CleanMyMac, TuneUpMyMac, MacCleanse, etc. now would be a good time to completely uninstall this apps by doing a Google search to learn how to properly uninstall these types of apps.
These types of apps will only cause your Mac issues later after the install of the new OS X version and you will have to completely uninstall these types of apps later.
Once you have determined all of this, you should be able to find the latest versions of OS X by clicking on the Mac App Store icon in the OS X Dock and then login to the Mac App Store using your Apple ID and password and using the appropriate download codes need
You can then begin the download and installation process of installing your desired versions of OS X  from the Mac App Store.

What ios is available for iPad 1 I don't know how to use my iPad

The highest iOS level for the iPad 1 is 5.1.1
If you are using iOS 4 (or earlier) there is no Software Update in Settings. That feature was first added in iOS 5.
To update you will have to connect your iPad to iTunes on a computer (preferably the one you sync with and backup to).

  • I am trying to install windows 7 on my macbook pro 13", when i run bootcamp it tells me that there is not a windows support software available for my computer. Where can i get the windows support software for my macbook?

I am trying to install windows 7 on my macbook pro 13", when i run bootcamp it tells me that there is not a windows support software available for my computer. Where can i get the windows support software for my macbook?

Apple only supports Windows on certain hardware.
    http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/
Apple provides their framework for Windows to run on a Mac, a piece of software called a Hybrid MBR that bridges the gap between how Windows reads the drive partition table (MBR) and EFI/GUID partition table that Mac's use.
It doesn't mean Windows can't run on your Mac, a third party solution called rEFIt will also bridge the gap and allow booting of more that just Windows, Linux as well for a triple booting computer.
Your hardware has to meet the other requirements the second and third operating system needs as as being able to install drivers that will work for your hardware, especially the fans or they will run loud and fast by default.
    http://refit.sourceforge.net/
This above is a advanced procedure which requires knowledge how computers and various operating systems, drive formats and so forth work.
I even admit I don't know everything myself, but I experiment on a separate piece of Mac hardware (out of warranty/AppleCare) designed for this purpose so in case something screws up I'm not taking down my only machine and can use the other to get online and find solutions.
There is a very high potential for losing your data if your using advanced/non-Apple methods to install Windows on your only Mac where Apple doesn't support it. Also one shouldn't be doing this on Mac hardware that is under AppleCare or warranty as it might be voided. Proceed at your own risk and education.

First, you need an external (USB) DVD drive.

I cannot access my electricity account because my Firefox release is earlier than 3.6. When I go to check available downloads for my Asus Tablet which runs Android it shows the Linux version as available and when I look for the Android version it indicates it is for phones using Android. Firefox for Android is compatible with tablets, including your Asus Transformer tablet. I recommend installing '''[https://market.android.com/details?id=org.mozilla.firefox_beta Firefox 9 Beta]''', because it includes a new interface designed especially for Android tablets.

    Pandora
Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.0 or later
Than means you need a 2G or later iPod. Since you say you have 2x I suspect you have a 1G iPod since those can only go to 2.x via iTunes. The 1G can go as high as 3.1.3 that you get here

  • What solutions are available for fixing iphone 6 plus 128gb with continuous reboot (700  apps)

Upgraded iPhone 5 64gb phone to iPhone 6 Plus 128gb and phone went into cycling reboot. Have 1260 apps installed on iPhone 5 with flawless functionality using IOS 7.1.2. Apple Genius Bar unable to get working and since phone was bought at Apple online, could only offer refund, as an exchange phone would not be able to be returned if problem existed on exchanged phone.Something to do with my phone coming directly from China, even though Apple recommended having an easier buying experience using the internet. BTW, 3 employees that I was handed off to said they had never seen this symptom, even after doing Google search in front of me showing a good number of reports of this issue. Are employees hiding this situation from customers or just not engaged in Apple products to be knowledgeable of current issues?
Some dialogue indicates that there may be iPhones with MLC NAND flash memory instead of the cheaper TLC NAND flash memory that may solve this issue. How can I request this hardware fix? Does Apple notify distributors of serial numbered devices that have this upgrade? Are distributors able to offer this upgraded hardware to the end users that happen to fall in this statistically low percentage group that need this type of fix to return functionality to their purchase?
Coincidentally, my iPad2 (64gb) developed the exact same symptom when I upgraded from 7.x.x to 8.1.1 (which was purported to fix this problem) which suggests that it is linked to the 8.x code in some way). I was able to return functionality by restoring from a backup (thru iTunes) and limit apps to 468 installed.
By my iPhone 6 Plus being returned with no warranty exchange, I fear that no data was collected to further the need for Apple to gather an appropriate degree of accurate information to process this need respectfully.
Frustrated (and loyal owner of every iPhone to date) and looking for answers.I am forced to continue use of iPhone 5 with 7.1.2 (no hope of going to 8.x) and somehow being cut out of group that had battery recall with this phone needing 3 charges/day and NO upgrade path at the moment.

I had the same problem, crashes every 5 minutes or more. Apple support did as if it was my problem with apps, no hardware problem. I did return the iPhone and are using my old iPhone 5 again, with all my apps and IOS 8.1.1, no problems, no crashes. Now I think of a Samsung Note Edge, was a Apple supporter since iPhone 3.
