  • How delete other storage from ipad air?

How delete other storage from ipad air?

The iOS will NOT automatically delete "other" if the device gets full. That is totally incorrect.
"Other" is basically all of the data and stuff that does not fit into any of the other categories on the device, like apps, photos, music, videos, and so on. It contains Safari Bookmarks and History, Notes, Contacts, Email messages, Text Messages, photos assigned to contacts, cached app data (but not documents themselves) etc. When "other" becomes too large, it can take up a lot of space and cause problems. It should not be more than a few GB at most and for most people it would probably be around 400MB - 2 GB.
IF something gets corrupted on the iPad and "other" grows out of control, you may have to restore the device in order to clear that data. One starting point troubleshooting step for dealing with the problem is to backup your iPad, restore to factory settings and then restore the backup. There are also other less invasive things that you can try first.
A Google search will turn up many articles that talk about how to reduce "other" on an iOS device.

  • What is the difference between Ipad Air with code MD787B/A and MD787FD/A??

Hi - what is the difference between Ipad Air with the code MD787B/A and MD787FD/A ??

You can see the model number in Settings>General>About>Model. The model number has a two-letter code, a number and some more letters. The last part stands for the country/region. The first letter can be "F" (refurbished), "M" (normal retail), or "P" (personalized / engraved). For example MC605B is the model MC605 and B is for the region.
What country does my device belong to?

  • What is "other" in my iPad Air 2?

Hello. I just bought my new iPad Air 2 at the Bestbuy yesterday.
but it has really irritating problem on my iPad.
What is "other" space in my iPad Air 2?
I just use it for a day, and I just download Keynote, Pages, and GarageBand, Youtube, Amazon, and now,
My iPad's "other" space is 1.5 Gb.
I just bought it yesterday, and I had to update my iPad to IOS 8.1.1. I did it with my laptop.
I already turned off my photo stream at the iCloud, and DFU restore once.
Please fix it... I really need help.

First of all, having "Other" occupy 1.5GB is completely normal.  You should be concerned if it grows a whole lot larger.

  • How to access portable storage on ipad air

I'm looking for a new tablet to replace my ipad1 which I no longer use. My primary use will be to play films and music ripped from my own Cds and DVDs/blurays.  The drawback with ipad1 was that I couldn't attatch portable media and transfer files to my ipad without a computer and itunes.  Has this changed? Can I now have my films and cds on sd cards or usb sticks etc and transfer them directly to ipad air. Or... would I be better to buy an android device with usb and sdcard support?  I'd prefer to go ipad air if possible but not being able to access a large library of externally held media would be a deal-breaker. thnx

There are some wireless external hard drives that can be used with the iPad.

  • What is the Difference in Ipad Air Regional Models?

For example I live in Dubai and the local model does not have FaceTime, I am for Ireland and want an Irish Model or the same as an Irish one?
Please let me know what serial number to look out for or let me know what is the other main differences in regional formats?
Where is the one pictured below from?
    Thanks
    Mick

I don't know the differences, but if you plan on buying it in Ireland remember that if you return to Dubai you still can't use FaceTime.

  • What is the best iPad Air 2 Case that features a swivel hand strap?

What is the best lightweight iPad Air 2 case that features a swivel hand strap?

I use the i-Blason Smart Cover with Hand Strap. It's the most full function case I have found. It has magnets for the smart cover function, a hand strap as well as a slot for business cards and such.

  • Does iOS 8.1.1 have these feature or are they not present on my iPad Air?

I have an iPad Air (wifi only) and iPhone 5s. I'm wondering if the following features exist in iOS 8.1.1 and maybe I've missed it?
#1- Raise to speak for Siri. I know there is "Hey Siri" but in order to use that it requires you to be a wall-hugger. Is that correct? I've read in a discussion board that you can hold down the home button to enable Siri, then bring it up to your ear. That seemed to work somewhat okay for me. I bought my first iPhone for the raise-to-speak feature...bought my 2nd iPhone for that reason. It's a necessary Accessibility feature for me.
#2- I know the Apple Wireless Keyboard always worked with my iPad Air and my iPhone 5s but wasn't always the same experience as when using a Mac. Meaning, the keyboard shortcuts that enabled me to be productive, weren't always enabled. For example, I can still use in Apple Mail, shift+command+D and that would send an e-mail I've drafted. I wish more of the same keyboard shortcuts I use on my MacBook Pro would be enabled with my iPad Air/iPhone 5s. But after updating, I noticed even more shortcuts were taken away. Things like fn+delete, command+delete or option+delete don't delete an entire word or sentence. I also can't use shortcuts anymore to highlight a sentence from my keyboard. Or at least, in Mail there seems to be some decent functionality. But in Safari when trying to send Apple feedback through these forms...no dice (on a consistent/reliable basis). Why not? Please bring that back. Being disabled is no fun. But these shortcuts helped me. Is it me, or have things gotten worse with this Apple accessory with iOS 8.1.1? Or, has anyone found a solution? Yes, I unpaired and re-paired the device. I also notice that while typing with the Apple Wireless Keyboard, it doesn't spell check as I type. That's no fun.
#3- Reliable searching in Spotlight. Keyword here is RELIABLE. I've seen a lot of folks on Twitter posting screenshots of searches in Spotlight in iOS 8.1.1 for even Apple apps (like Phone, Contacts, etc.) and nothing comes up for applications. I've had the same issue when it comes to searching for installed apps on my iOS devices. Why? I know the release notes for iOS 8.1.1 mentioned fixes for iPhone 4s and iPad AIr 2. But what about iPhone 5s and iPad Air? Where's the love? I've tried unchecking and rechecking the Spotlight options. That didn't help. Yes, reset all my settings. Didn't help. Right before iOS 8.1.1 was released, I had restored my devices.
#4- Reliable searching for event in the native Calendar app. Again, keyword here is RELIABLE. So a few times now, I have tried to search for (recent) or future events/appointments in the native Calendar app by tapping the search icon in the app. The result? Nothing was found when searching by that method. However, by going through the Calendar app (day-by-day) I was able to find the appointments/events I needed to. However, this experience was horrible and very tedious. And at first, I just heard about this issue from friends. And family members were asking me for help. Has anyone experienced this issue? Any workarounds?
#5- Battery drain issues since iOS 8.1.1 on both my iPad Air and iPhone 5s. For example, I was using Comcast/Xfinity's TV GO app to watch a movie I downloaded on my iPhone 5s. The device was in Airplane Mode and Location Services was off. The device ran very hot (even though it is quite cool in my apartment and outside, and it was not being plugged in). It went from a charge of 100% to the caution dialog box to recharge in just over 2 hours of viewing. Brightness setting was its lowest. Now, that experience is quite new to me. My battery was replaced by Apple about 4 months ago. I attempted to replicate the issue the following night with the same settings. It wasn't as bad but still a drain much faster than what I've seen before. Has anyone else experienced this type of drain? On my iPad Air, I've noticed a sharp decline in battery performance since updating to iOS 8.1.1 and I don't know why. And it's intermittent and frustrating. I use only Apple cords and adapters. I follow the instructions about Apple batteries and ways to optimize per the Apple website. Yet, I'm seeing a problem. Anyone else? Anyone have a fix?
#6- Is there any way to create location-based reminders on my iPad Air (wifi-only configuration)? I tried to make a location-based reminder and the native Reminders app wasn't having any of it. It would not allow me to do that.  Why not? I tether my iPhone to my iPad.
#7 - Is there any way to use Apple Maps on my iPad Air (wifi-only configuration) when tethering my iPhone 5s? It doesn't do turn-by-turn navigation. Why not? Any workarouds?
#8- Sooo.....you know on our iPhones it gives us the cellular data breakout? Is there any way to get a breakout of how the iPad Air  is using the Hotspot/cellular data? I ask because I know on Netflix website, there is an option to toggle playback settings. I switched it to "low" since I was going to be traveling. I noticed that when I tethered my iPhone to my MacBook Pro, the playback setting seemed to be at the low setting (based on cellular data usage from my iPhone). But when I tethered my iPhone 5s to my iPad Air, it ate up a whole lot of data. It's as if the Netflix app didn't adhere to change in setting. When I contacted Netflix, they said it was an issue with Apple. When I contacted Apple, they said it was an issue with Netflix. I was hoping to see some kind of cellular data usage report when we tether, so I can better help Apple or Netflix. Or...if you know of a way to get my Netflix to not eat up all my data, that would be great too.
I know this was a lot. But I appreciate any and all help. I'm interested in any other bugs you're seeing with the latest version of iOS 8.1.1. My apologies in advance if this has multiple spelling mistakes. Spellcheck and grammar check don't seem to want to work in this Safari session.

    1. Unfortunately is was removed in iOS 8 .
    2. Unfortunately being a mobile O.S. means not all shortcuts may work or have a counterpart there.
    3.  I have no issues with Spotlight.  Make sure you have the categories ordered the way you want to see them. As sometimes the App results may be below other result categories where you need to scroll further down. You can change this in Settings->General->Spotlight and drag the categories to the order you want them.  For instance I have Apps at the top followed by Suggestions, and then Mail and then Contacts, and then everything else.
    4.  Again no real issues for me there.
    5. ---
    6. ---
    7. It should work. What happens when you try?
    8. When the iPad connects to the iPhone hotspot, it treats it as a regular Wifi connection because that's all it is to it.  And since you cannot limit the usage from other devices on the iPhone, it just lets it use the Cell data as much as it wants.  You'll need to manually manage this.  A Cellular iPad will have the same Cell data management as an iPhone.  A Wifi only iPad will not, as it doesn't actually use Cell data itself, so nothing really to limit.

  • How do I stop apps from my iPad Air being downloaded to the iPhone4?

If I download a game or app to my iPad Air in iOS8, why is it downloaded to my iPhone4 automatically when I sync through iTunes12 on my iMac. Have I somehow turned this auto match download? How do I stop this from happening? I only want what I download to the iPad Air, unless I manually decide to install it on the iPhone4 through iTunes12.
    jr

With the settings changed on the iPhone4, why the iPad Air? I downloaded the apps to it. Then chose to delete them, which works. I just have to remember to delete them from iTunes12 eventually.

  • Is there an underwater case for iPad Air?

I have read that the LifeProof Nuud works for the other iPads... but am curious of what is avialable for the iPad Air?

I don't think the thickness is an issue, the Air and iPad 2 are quite different in size. And if I'm recalling right, the iPad 2, 3 and 4 were very similar in size, maybe just a wee bit thicker (as in milimeters). Cases made for previous iPads won't fit the Air.

  • Ipad air with cellular can be used with any carrier anywhere in the world?

Currently i'm in the US for business, I want to buy the new ipad air with cellular connection but i don't live in the US, can i use it with any carrier, anywhere in the world?

    Hi there,
You may find the information at the website below helpful.
    iPad Air
    http://www.apple.com/ipad-air/ultrafast-wireless/
Ready to take on the world.
iPad Air offers comprehensive support for fast networks around the world, and you don’t need a long-term contract. You can sign up for cellular connectivity only when you need it. Some cellular carriers even offer flexible shared plans that let you use the data service you already have. If you want a local connection when you’re traveling, iPad Air is ready. Just ask a local carrier about a short-term data plan, pop in a SIM card, and you’re ready to go.
