What techniques could be used to remove this camera operator reflection?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvEq-kJufNI&feature=youtu.be
An important note: The clip will become black and white in the final movie.
Thank you.

I would trim the shot to just the footage necessary to tell the story first because this is going to be tough. The worst parts are where the guy in the dark blue suit provides a background for the reflection just as the door closes.
Here's how I would approach the fix. Photoshop's healing brush is probably the best tool for generating a clean plate I would try painting a frame at a time in Photoshop being as careful as you can to remove just enough to break up the reflection instead of completely remove it. The dirty window is your friend here. Here is a side by side comparison I did of a screen grab in Photoshop that took only 5 strokes with the healing brush. The closing door should hide the flicker completely if you don't get too aggressive and you remember what you were painting.
Retouch just enough frames to cover the worst of it.
Check playback to make sure that you are not introducing flicker that is worse than the original problem.
When the door closes and the reflection is pretty much hidden stop. Back in AE take a close look at the shot and in the few remaining places that movement by the camera operator give him away ADD some grunge to the shot that can be faded in and out slowly to hide it just to cover the telltale movement.
You've got to remember that the audience isn't going to be scrutinizing every frame and that hiding only the give away parts and throwing in a little extra grunge is the best way to handle this problem.

  • The limit to imagination for what we could achieve using Labview

    Hiya
I would like to create a user interface by customizing front panel so it could be used as an oscilloscope. This oscilloscope allows user to do following selections.
    Analogue or digital signal
    which channel
raw binary data or scaled measurement
    enter mathematical formula
and then it displays the signal. There are some knobs which could be used to zoom in or alter display to ficilate analysis. This is just imagination, Is it possible to achieve this on Labview. What are the steps please??
    Your help is much appreciated.
    Ta

You can download and install the NI-SCOPE driver, which includes the NI-SCOPE Soft Front Panel, an oscilloscope application written entirely in LabVIEW.  This will give you an idea of what is possible (essentially anything even vaguely reasonable, plus a lot more, limited only by your imagination and skill).  Unfortunately, the driver is very large.  If you want a picture, check this out.
The underlying architecture of this application is virtually identical to the architecture given in this post.  However, you would probably be better off following Ben's suggestion to hone your LabVIEW skills, then dive into the xylophone example.

  • I don't know what adobe program to use to make this animation...

I want to make an animation where a meteor or fireball that arches acrossed the screen. (without an explosion) Could this be done in photoshop? If not what would you recomend, Thanks.

The ideal choice of program can depend on what your output intent is. Is this for film? video? web page? iPad?
Adobe has three products that could help: Photoshop, After Effects and Flash

  • Quick question! What tool should I use to make this logo?

I would like to know how to make the following image 1 to turn to image 2 ? What tool should I use? Thank you very much !

Probably the quickest way would be to use Offset Path, that is if the original file is vector artwork.  Your two screen shot images do not match.  If your assignment is to recreate the "CNN" logo, you'd be best to start with the internal Stroke ( White ).  Use the existing artwork as a template Layer.  Draw on a separate Layer going by the existing artwork.  Simple Pen tool operation consisting of around eight anchor points.  Once you've established the most accurate Stroke rendition, copy the file using a different name ( CNN02.ai or similar ).  Outline the copy.  Then, use Offset Path for the outer Red ( save that as CNN03.ai ). Copying in sequential steps allows you to go back just in case something does not look right.  If accuracy is important, you'll have to resolve the "C" deviation you have right now.

  • What else could it (usefully) do?

I was amazed to find how easy it is to use - just wipe my finger across the screen and see the result!  Definitely need bigger "wipe" bars in Photoshop/ Photoshop Elements!
What else would I like?  Well, many phone camera lenses are a bit fisheye, so it would be very useful to have some of Photoshop Elements' Camera Distortion effects to reduce this.
For the purposes of amusement, it would be useful to be able to distort a part of a picture, say making a nose bigger or a tummy smaller (click on  a point on the photo, choose a radius for the effect, choose the scale of the effect).  Of course this is exactly the same as reducing fisheye distortion, as if you had selected the centre of the photo as the point, and the whole photo as the radius.
The effect I use the most often in Photoshop Elements is Levels (again, particularly important with a phone camera which isn't high quality).  I expand the range of the photo, so the dark greys become blacks and the light greys become whites (Enhance/ Lighting/ Levels or CTRL-L).  Could you do this multi-touch?

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts!  Direct user feedback really helps us understand user needs and trends.

  • Can you please help me figure out what filter(s) to use to recreate this picture?

    Hi Everyone!
I'm a student and not an expert in Photoshop. I'm trying to work over in After Effects using a Photoshop edited picture I was given (not separated in layers). However in order to give the image more movement I would like to recreate the picture, but have failed in figuring out which filters to use. Can you please help a student out? I would greatly appreciate it.!! (The first picture is the original, and the second one is the one I am trying to recreate) Thanks !

Thanks for sharing that piece of information.  I was only aware of creating posterized effects in Illustrator, though the
re is a posterize filter in Photoshop too.  I'm learning as I post so bear with me.  I find that providing a helping hand can't hurt unless you're way off base.  In this case I guess I should have provided my suggestion as an alternative rather than stating that it could only be best done in AI.

  • What package can be used to remove ORACLE options?

That's very unlikely. This is good way to p'i'ss off customer totally against Sales Rep's interest. Their position is to build and maintain a healthy relationship with customers not p'i'ss them off. Oracle auditing team might want to do that but very rarely unless Oracle had good evidence there's licensing comprise.
Other than that. Dan already mentioned there's no way to uninstall partitioning option from EE installation. So as you can't uninstall Diagnostic Pack features from EE and Grid Control installation.

  • What command could be used as xcopy (in windows) ?

I need to pick up files with certain rule as .mov and to move them to another folder.
    How to carry out similar command (win) "xcopy /folder1/*.mov /folder2  -s -e -d" in os-x ?
Can this be done with cp, if how ? rsync copies only complete folders ?

Here is the man page for cp:
    NAME
         cp -- copy files
    SYNOPSIS
         cp [-R [-H | -L | -P]] [-fi | -n] [-apvX] source_file target_file
         cp [-R [-H | -L | -P]] [-fi | -n] [-apvX] source_file ...
      target_directory
    DESCRIPTION
In the first synopsis form, the cp utility copies the contents of the
source_file to the target_file.  In the second synopsis form, the con-
tents of each named source_file is copied to the destination
target_directory. The names of the files themselves are not changed.  If
cp detects an attempt to copy a file to itself, the copy will fail.
         The following options are available:
-a    Same as -pPR options. Preserves structure and attributes of files
        but not directory structure.
-f    If the destination file cannot be opened, remove it and create a
new file, without prompting for confirmation regardless of its per-
missions.  (The -f option overrides any previous -n option.)
The target file is not unlinked before the copy.  Thus, any exist-
ing access rights will be retained.
-H    If the -R option is specified, symbolic links on the command line
are followed.  (Symbolic links encountered in the tree traversal
        are not followed.)
-i    Cause cp to write a prompt to the standard error output before
copying a file that would overwrite an existing file.  If the
response from the standard input begins with the character `y' or
`Y', the file copy is attempted.  (The -i option overrides any pre-
        vious -n option.)
-L    If the -R option is specified, all symbolic links are followed.
-n    Do not overwrite an existing file.  (The -n option overrides any
        previous -f or -i options.)
-P    If the -R option is specified, no symbolic links are followed.
        This is the default.
-p    Cause cp to preserve the following attributes of each source file
in the copy: modification time, access time, file flags, file mode,
user ID, and group ID, as allowed by permissions.  Access Control
Lists (ACLs) and Extended Attributes (EAs), including resource
        forks, will also be preserved.
If the user ID and group ID cannot be preserved, no error message
is displayed and the exit value is not altered.
If the source file has its set-user-ID bit on and the user ID can-
not be preserved, the set-user-ID bit is not preserved in the
copy's permissions. If the source file has its set-group-ID bit on
and the group ID cannot be preserved, the set-group-ID bit is not
preserved in the copy's permissions.  If the source file has both
its set-user-ID and set-group-ID bits on, and either the user ID or
group ID cannot be preserved, neither the set-user-ID nor set-
group-ID bits are preserved in the copy's permissions.
-R    If source_file designates a directory, cp copies the directory and
the entire subtree connected at that point. If the source_file
ends in a /, the contents of the directory are copied rather than
the directory itself.  This option also causes symbolic links to be
copied, rather than indirected through, and for cp to create spe-
cial files rather than copying them as normal files.  Created
directories have the same mode as the corresponding source direc-
tory, unmodified by the process' umask.
In -R mode, cp will continue copying even if errors are detected.
Note that cp copies hard-linked files as separate files.  If you
need to preserve hard links, consider using tar(1), cpio(1), or
        pax(1) instead.
-v    Cause cp to be verbose, showing files as they are copied.
-X    Do not copy Extended Attributes (EAs) or resource forks.
For each destination file that already exists, its contents are overwrit-
ten if permissions allow. Its mode, user ID, and group ID are unchanged
unless the -p option was specified.
In the second synopsis form, target_directory must exist unless there is
only one named source_file which is a directory and the -R flag is speci-
         fied.
If the destination file does not exist, the mode of the source file is
used as modified by the file mode creation mask (umask, see csh(1)).  If
the source file has its set-user-ID bit on, that bit is removed unless
both the source file and the destination file are owned by the same user.
If the source file has its set-group-ID bit on, that bit is removed
unless both the source file and the destination file are in the same
group and the user is a member of that group.  If both the set-user-ID
and set-group-ID bits are set, all of the above conditions must be ful-
filled or both bits are removed.
Appropriate permissions are required for file creation or overwriting.
Symbolic links are always followed unless the -R flag is set, in which
case symbolic links are not followed, by default. The -H or -L flags (in
conjunction with the -R flag) cause symbolic links to be followed as
described above.  The -H, -L and -P options are ignored unless the -R
option is specified.  In addition, these options override each other and
the command's actions are determined by the last one specified.
If cp receives a SIGINFO (see the status argument for stty(1)) signal,
the current input and output file and the percentage complete will be
         written to the standard output.
    EXIT STATUS
The cp utility exits 0 on success, and >0 if an error occurs.
    COMPATIBILITY
Historic versions of the cp utility had a -r option.  This implementation
supports that option; however, its use is strongly discouraged, as it
does not correctly copy special files, symbolic links, or fifo's.
The -v and -n options are non-standard and their use in scripts is not
         recommended.
    LEGACY DESCRIPTION
In legacy mode, -f will override -i.  Also, under the -f option, the tar-
get file is always unlinked before the copy.  Thus, new access rights
         will always be set.
In -R mode, copying will terminate if an error is encountered.
For more information about legacy mode, see compat(5).

  • I'm currently capturing with an Xha1 camera.  What recorder could I use instead for use on cc7?

Instead of using my Xha1 to caputre HD footage to Adobe's cc7 software, is there a compatable HD recorder I could use instead, to save on the wear and tear of the camera's heads?

It depends what frame format you record in. If you shoot interlaced, most any HDV camcorder or deck will work. If you shoot progressive, i.e. 25p or 30p, only Canon devices will work, due to a proprietary method to write to the tape.
The least expensive HDV camera that Canon still sells is the HV40, but I'm sure you could pick up a HV20 or HV30 fairly cheap on eBay or such.
That said, head wear is largely a myth for these cameras, but if you are starting and stopping the tape a lot for transfer, worrying about wear on the transport mechanism is not unrealistic.
