What technology SAP BI uses ?? ROLAP,MOLAP, HOLAP ??

Hi,
I have been reading on definitions of ROLAP, MOLAP, HOLAP. My understanding is SAP BW/BI uses MOLAP technology. Am I right ?? Please correct me if I am not.
thanks

Hi,
Yes you are right.MOLAP (Multidimensional Online Analytical Processing) is a format conceived especially for storing multidimensional data in a multidimensional database. The BW MOLAP store is a platform-specific means of optimizing query performance. It uses Microsoft Analysis Services and, for this reason, it is only available for a Microsoft SQL server database platform.

  • What technology should be used?

i want to make remote desktop type of application with limited functionality. In achieving this i thought viewing the desktop from client should be the first step. so i want to know what technology should i use to send live video type of thing to client........
I am able to create the video type of thing by taking snapshots(20 per second) of the screen but I am not able to send it to the client.......
Is this correct way or there is any other way to create video?

  • Oracle 10g / 11g is ROLAP/MOLAP/HOLAP?

    Hi Greets,
Can any one please tell me whethe the available version of Oracle 10G /11g OLAP
is ROLAP or MOLAP or HOLAP.
    Thanks
    Anandraj

The OLAP Option is highly integrated with the Oracle database by this stage (11.1). Metadata is stored in the data dictionary and the primary access mechanism is SQL. So traditional terms like ROLAP, MOLAP, and HOLAP are getting hard to apply. But at a broad level you could say the following.
ROLAP was supported in 10g based on CwM metadata and the Java OLAP API as query tool. (Both Discoverer for OLAP and the Excel Add-In use the Java OLAP API.) CwM was deprecated in 10.2 and ROLAP in general has received no new development for years. So while it technically still works in 11g, I would not recommend it.
MOLAP (i.e. the Analytic Workspace) is supported in both 10g and 11g. In 10g the metadata is managed by AWXML, and in 11g it is managed using by the OLAP API. In both cases you can access the data via SQL, the OLAP API, or OLAP DML. In 11g you can also integrate with the Materialized View system.
The MOLAP implementation is faster and more scalable than the ROLAP version, and all development and future plans centre around MOLAP.

  • What technology trendmicro are using of java?

On trend-micro website they have a small java applet which work as an online anti viral scanner, that means it some how communicate low level api's of windows. Can any body give me idea how this thing is possible since i have read in many articles that applet cannot communicate with windows api nor it could send any driver's ioctls?? is this is swing or any other technology'???
    Please guide me thanks

As it is a signed applet it could be doing anything, including running native code. But I would guess all that is needed to to iterate over every file on your system and check it against a number of known patterns, but the only people who would know would be trendmicro.I think the OP needs to read up on the differences between signed and unsigned applets

  • What technologies to use in web based application...??

    Hi,
I have to develop a web-based application that will be used to display configured tests to user as well will allow user to add new tests and modify/delete already configured tests. What technologies shall i use to develop this application. And what will be fast to learn.
What is your opinion on applet-servlet approach here.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Deepak

    What you've got sounds good.
If you're not going to build EJBs then you probably don't need JBoss.
Tomcat is the servlet engine for JBoss so you're getting the same thing but lighter by just using it.
The important thing is to make sure you have a nice separation of concerns. If you separate all of the database access by creating data access objects (DAO) objects that return plain old Java objects (POJO) then you can, if you choose, easily swap in Hibernate or another ORM Tool.

  • What adobe products to use for interactive map?

    Hello you Adobe Experts!
I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I am interested in developing/designing a tactical map for competitive gaming and I was wondering what adobe products would help me best. I have a decent amount of experience with Fireworks. The map will be a web application and should be interactive for the user experience. Could anyone weigh in on this question? It would help me out a lot if I knew what path I should go. Thanks!
    Andy

Sorry for not being very descriptive. I would want the map very interactive, almost to the sense of everything on the map will be affected by user interaction.
For example, a user scrolls over a zone and it lights up & once clicked upon, the zone will display information somewhere. The map will be a "fight for control" like a domination set up, and the way it would work is that a team (Team A) would control Zone A and Team B controls Zone B. Well, Team A decides to challenge their neighboring zone (Which is Zone B) to a match. (In some FPS game). Whoever wins the match, will obtain control of that zone. I know this is a lot of stuff to take in. But, I'm just curious to see others ideas on what technologies they would use to design something like this.
    Thanks.

  • SAP Archiving using Open Text

I need to know the basic understanding of what is SAP archiving using Open text ? I did go through Open Text web site and sdn but not of much help.
What would be the difference between archiving using SARA and Open text ?

The Questionnaire can include following questions :
1.what sources are available for getting information about the SAP data archiving ?
    2. which persons are involved in the archiving project and how are the responsibilities shared ?
3.should an external consultant be involved in the project ?
    4. Is there a time limit for the project.
5.Which sap release are we using and is a release change planned before archiving ?
6.How many r/3 systems are in use and are they allocated in different regions ?
More such questions can be found in the book which snap shots are available on books.google

  • SSAS Tabular - Why is it wrong to call classify it as MOLAP, ROLAP or HOLAP?

    Hi There,
I am working on an assignment (for a masters degree) in which I am evaluating different OLAP tools, and one of the tools assigned to me is Microsoft's BI stack.
One of the classifications we are working on is whether a tool is MOLAP, ROLAP or HOLAP. When reading about SSAS Tabular, however, every single thing I read points out that SSAS escapes this traditional classification.
I am trying to understand why would it be wrong to attempt to classify a Tabular instance of SSAS in such way? Why not say that SSAS Tabular is MOLAP, when using DirectQuery it is ROLAP, and if mixing both it is HOLAP?
What is so fundamentally wrong about it?
EDIT: Ah, and how does the Microsoft BI Semantic Model
fits into the picture -- I assume is has something to do with the Tabular model being outside the traditional MOLAP/ROLAP/HOLAP classifiction?
Thanks in advance for your help!
    Regards,
    P.

    Hi Pmdci,
According to your description, you are looking for the reason why is it wrong to call classify SQL Server Analysis Service Tabular as MOLAP, right? As you know in MOLAP, data is stored in a multidimensional cube. The storage is not in the relational database,
but in proprietary formats. And in ROLAP, data stored in the relational database to give the appearance of traditional OLAP's slicing and dicing functionality. However tabular solutions use relational modeling constructs such as tables and relationships for
modeling data, and the xVelocity in-memory analytics engine for storing and calculating data. So as per my understanding, we cannot classify tabular as MOLAP.

  • What technology that can be used for the creation of Need Definition?

Being on SAP SRM 4.0, we currently have a requirement for creation of Need Definition( Basically a build up for the contract ). Need being collected from the Backend systems need to be validated and approved by Buyers & Lead Buyers in the SRM system.
Technically, this task is broken down to below tasks.
    1) Creation of need definition screen - Basically a template where a need can be created with Items, Sub Items and other related information
    2) Selection Screen for Buyers and Lead Buyers - This enables the the Buyers to select the Need Definition assigned to them based on the status.
    3) Report - List of all the Need Definition( Item and Sub Item)satisfying the selection of step 2. with the possibility to navigate to the Need Definition screen ( Step 1) upon selection.
    Now the question is,
what technology is recommended for the above Tasks? We thought it would be BSP but do you guys have any suggestions...
Do we have any issues in displaying the report in BSP? please let me know
Remember we are version 4.0 of SRM.
    Thanks in Advance..

  • What is advantage of using Visual Composer In SAP

    Hi friends,
please tell me what is advantage of using visual composer in SAP.
and please give me basic notes to understand Visual Composer.
I Don't have any idea about this topic.
    please help me.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Yogesh,
SAP Visual Composer is a browser based, graphical modeling tool that - by reusing existing data services like RFCs, web services, queries, query-views, tables - allows creating business applications with both transactional and analytical services seamlessly integrated. In addition it gives modelers the choice to select the UI technology and build user interfaces.

  • What technologies are to be used for Web2.0 application

    Hi All!!
I am developing a Web 2.0 website in JAVA. But I am little confused in deciding upon the technologies to be used.
I would like to use the following technologies in my application but not sure whether its a good choice or not.
Presentation Tier: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, JSP
Business Tier: JBOSS application Server, Spring Framework, Restful APIs, JSF, Business modules or EJBs.
    Data Tier: MySQL
Please help me in deciding upon what combination of technologies I should use. Also, I have no idea about how Restful APIs, JSF and Spring Framework will work together, any suggestions are welcome.
I would really appreciate your help.
    Thanks in advance.

How is LAMP related to Java?
I would suggest JSF with a rich (ajaxical) component library, such as JBoss RichFaces.

I think comodo code signing certificate is one of the nice option to be added for Adobe Air, as i have seen comodo code signing certificate in other adobe programs. Recently i bought comodo code signing from https://cheapsslsecurity.com/comodo/codesigningcertificate.html, to sign one of my adobe application and it works fine, you can use microsoft authenticode technology with comodo code signing.
