My imac is doing strange things:
-delaying between users: when closing session it goes to blue, then takes a while to appear users signin box, and then wont recognize mouse command to enter until a couple of minutes later... then everything seems alright until....

If it is an overheating problem due to a fan or logic board problem, your hard drive is possibly cooking itself to death. If so it isn't a faulty hard drive even though the hard drive might fail. So assuming it's a temperature problem, even if you are able to repair things on the disk with software, that is working on symptoms, not causes. I could be wrong however.
RE: AppleCare: Your iMac came with one year of AppleCare (Apple's warranty program), but within the first year you can buy 2 more years. You have to extend by the one year anniversary of purchase of the computer. Your 10,1 is too old to still be in the first year, and since you asked what it was, I'm sure you don't have it. Bottom line meaning is that whatever this problem turns out to be, you'll have to pay for it. Unless there is something like this. It is for 2011 iMacs with certain Seagate drives. You can put in your serial number for fun, but it looks like yours is too old. Lastly, some people have had Apple help them anyway if it is just out of warranty, but many have not. Your machine is one of these. Type in 10,1 in the search box. Is there an Apple Store near you? Just b/c it's out of warranty doesn't mean you shouldn't have it looked at by Apple. But no one here can say at all what Apple will or will not do.

why when i want to download a free app from app store it asks for my apple id and when i give my apple id it then says "this apple id has not yet been used in the itunes store". i dont even know what that means and it will this happen everytime?
If you are within 14 days of purchase you can still return the iPhone and get the phone that suits your needs, however, I think you will find that no matter which phone you get the content provider will want to know how you are going to pay for future purchases. For Android phones it is Google, and they will certainly want to know.

okay I'll tell you the whole story; okay, I had this "1" on my settings icon and in my updates, it said there was a new software, I read a bit about it, and it said I needed 50% and needed Internet connection, so I turned on our "wifi" box. it said I can install so I pressed it. and then the Apple logo came up in the middle of the black screen with a loading line below it. so I left it for about 1 hour or so, and came back and it was half way, so I left it again of the same amount of time, and when I came back it had the computer side of the white cord that you get with your IPod and an arrow pointing towards the ITunes Icon, so I guessed that I had to go to ITunes so I did, and it told me to restore my iPod, I didn't know what that meant so I clicked Restore and Update, and up the top of the screen it said it was "extracting" and then a alert came saying there was an error, so I I clicked "ok" and then my IPod went to a black screen and the Apple Logo appeared in the middle of the screen again, I left it for 1 hour and came back it hadn't changed, so I left it over night on charge and in the morning it hadn't hanged, so I took it off charged for the rest of the day, and it said it needed charge, so the black screen and the apple logo must have taken away charge, so as soon as I plugged it into the computer again, it went back to the black screen with the apple logo, so now it wont even let my reset my iPod, so now I have to see if it is fixable, if it is not I blame the instructions IOS resolving thingy, and get a new iPod or spend a lot of money fixing it, I would trade it, but I doubt my folks would let me, so thanks a lot, if you know any way of fixing my iPod please "please" PLEASE! help me, it would be greatly appreciated, if I don't get it working I may loose friends, because my iPod was for some of my best friends the only way I stay in contact with them. - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I am trying to open iTunes on my mac. But a box pops up saying "The folder iTunes is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder". Anyone know what that means? I've had my computer 2 years and its never had a problem opening it
I've already right-clicked on the application, clicked "get info", and changed it so all people listed in the "Sharing & Permissions" section have the "read & write" privilage.
The error message is referring to your iTunes library, not your iTunes application.
You need to check and fix the permissions of the iTunes folder in your iTunes library. This is by default located in your "Music" folder.
Select the folder Music > iTunes in the Finder, right click on it or Ctrl Click and click "Get Info". At the bottom of the contextual window thatwill pop up, disclose the Sharing and Permissions brick, change your status from Read only to Read & Write. You may need to click the padlock icon to make changes. -
I received an email this am telling me I was charged for a purchase I made of .99 this am. I did not purchase anything. I contacted PayPay and was informed it was for a recurring monthly .99 fee..I don't know what that is and don't want it. What is it? PayPal cancelled any further payments for this. I was informed I needed to request refund from ITunes. I did that. Why was I charged a .99 recurring fee? I purchased, or thought I did, an app called "Appzilla2" on Jan 10 for .99 cents. Does this mean I must pay .99/monthly to use it? If so, please cancel the appzilla.
We are itunes users just like you. We cannot cancel anything.
Look at your purchase history and see what the charge is for. Contact itunes support if need be. -
all of a sudden my itunes wont come up when i hit the desktop icon. un and re installed many times, tried new users, it finally gave me "you need to reinstall sqmapi.dll " im a noob and i have know idea what that is or where i can get it. i cant open any file or library that has anything to do with itunes except safari and quicktime are fine. im about to pull out whats left of my hair.

In your Start menu, right-click Computer and select "Manage".
Expand "Services & Applications".
Open "Services". (Perhaps maximise the screen to better see what's going on.)
Right-click the Bonjour Service and select "Properties".
In the General tab, set the Startup type to "Disabled":

Restart the PC and try launching iTunes. Does it open this time? -

I am using MAC OSx 10.5.8 (9L31a) as my operation system. The TV says "No signal. Check connected device's power, cable connection and source selection." Seems to me that that goes in hand with what the Samsung tech said about the Mac needing to be forces to use the external display. But how do I do that?

when syncing, I get an error message stating: "The iPhone cannot be synced. The disk could not be read from or written to." Any clue what that is due to. Everything but photos seem to sync fine.
I had the same problem when trying to sync my new ilPhone 4s and a fairly new iPad 2. I couldn't find anything in the forum about it. So, since my 4s was new, I called support and luckily I got a CSR with some knowledge. He at first thought it would be tough to fix but after thinking a minute he found the fix. The fix is:
Click on finder, Go, Home, Pictures, then click on iPod photo cache and drag it to trash. Now try syncing again. It worked on both of mine. No problems since. -

Error 49 occurs while updating the application , when Creative Cloud app does not have reference / Access to installed CC app, so that it can apply updates for the same .

I went to upgrade my version of Firefox and was able to download the newer version, but when I went to install it, the system asked if I wanted to replace the old with the new (the only option given), and when I said 'yes' the system popped up with "you are unable to do this because you have insufficient privileges." Not sure what that means. I have been able to download other things just fine.If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

Other usually contains app data and other miscellanious items. However 6GB is awfully big so it's likely been corrupted. I would restore.

Unfortunately you screen shot is not showing. There is a bug in the forum software that sometime will prohibit images from appearing. This may be one of those occasions.
Browsers such as Safari and Firefox do have small windows that will show downloads which will permit you to monitor the progress. Without actually seeing what you are referring to, I cannot give you a definitive answer.
