What the **** Happened to Apple?!?!

Never have I ever had this much issue with any Apple product.  I've got Windows 8 on HP computer running 64 bit. iTunes and Apple TV continualy lose connecton.  After IOS 7.0 apple tv not even seen.  Updated Apple TV.  The worst parts are a) never needed Tech support with Apple before, and 2) can't find any support info that is worth a ****.  Anyone out there have a solution?  It should be knbown, I haven't got all day to spend infront of a computer.  I have a real job.

Solution to what?
Stop all the griping and try describing the actual issue.

  • What the **** happened?????

OK I've faithfuly used my Ipod 5th Gen. for years now and had no major problems. Until the oter day, I was listening to my pod on shuffle when a song started to play it would skip to the next one without finishing the last one. It continued to do this and when I would manually skip to the next song it would freeze for a sec. then move on continueing to skip tru more than half of the song on to the next. This went on till I tried turning it off and it wouldn't turn off so I left it alone. I went back to it later and went to turn it on and the little apple appears and then it says to connect it to the puter and restore with Itunes. OK,so I did. Itunes reconizes it and tells me to restore it so I do. It goes tru the process and says its done, to leave it connected and Itunes will find it when it restarts, which it does, but when it does it tells me that it found a Ipod in recovery mode and it needs to be restored! The Ipod wont cahrge only when connected to puter,The little flashing circle with a slash used to be red and now the color is just black and white,It keeps telling me to restore with Itunes but when I do nothing happens...WHAT THE **** HAPPENED??? Missing my Ipod dearly

that I know of just the printer and an external cd drive as far as network not sure dsl connection. I uninstalled itunes and reinstalled it. It worked for a min. until I loged off of that user and went under a different user than it went back into its stupid recovery loop thing now I can't gei it to do anything again. The computer tells me that I need to reformat it but when I go to do that it says that windows cant do it. I then tried it in command mode and it also told me that it could not reformat it. I'm thinking the harddrive is just finally shot in it. I don't know wat else to do but throw it over the bridge...It's just a cool looking paper weight for now till I can figure what the h@ll happened!

  • What the **** happened to my website?

What the **** happened to my website?

First, get the domain file that is in the HD/Users/Home/Library/Applications Support/iWeb folder on the old hard drive and copy it to the same locatilons on the new hard drive.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible in Lion or Mt. Lion enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
For Mavericks, 10.9,  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.
To open your domain file in Lion or Mountain Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

  • Whats the range of apple airport express

whats the range of apple airport express.

The effective range is about 150 feet or approximately 50 meters when there are no obstructions in the signal path between the AirPort Express and the wireless device receiving the signal.
But, walls, ceilings and other obstructions absorb a great deal of the signal in a home, so it is not possible to predict how the AirPort Express might perform in your home until you try it out in your home.
In general, you would not want the signal to have to negotiate moving through more than a few walls. A ceiling, because it is much thicker than a wall, will absorb a good deal more of the signal.

  • What has happened with Apple Support?

I convinced my friend to purchase a refurb Macbook Pro last week. I explained "the same warrenty, I've purchase 3 refurbs with no problems, yada yada".
His MBP shows up with a "5th leg" under the Superdrive! Dented from the inside out. We found this out when we tried to start installing some software via DVD and the DVD got jammed inside and wouldn't eject (and sounding like it was shredding said DVD). Finally after a small pair of tweezers and a quick hand, I was able to snag the end of the dvd and "help it out".
I told my friend how sorry I was, and explained that we will ship it back and Apple will surely just ship another refurb to him.
Currently, he has spoken with 6 different people, over an hour of phone time, and none have followed through with not even a return number! Plus, each and evey new "tech" that he speaks to wants his name, order number, address, credit card, and probably his favorite color!
What has happened? I have been praising Apple for 25 years, and now I'm just embarrassed (for me and Apple).
Had to vent, and was wondering if anyone else has had this experience lately?

Your friend only needs a single 'yes' to resolve this. Tell him/her to hang in there! Insist on good service. It is definitely owed.
I have found that dedicating the time to get it done, and then not accepting any answer except the ethically right one, will achieve the right result. I would bet the call center folks are trained to drag feet on giving return authorizations on refurbs. That is an institutional thing that is not particular to just Apple. The ignored problem often will just go away. On a call to support the need is to insist on going uphill to supervisor and then manager and not hang up until a equitable solution is arrived at. Polite, unfazed - insistant.
We all hate it when an error like this makes Apple look small.

  • What the **** happened to my notes?

I'm using an iPhone 3GS.  Last night, I backed up my iPhone and synced new music, as I do periodically (because I'm paranoid about losing data).  After I synced it, I checked my notes and my latest note was gone.  The note where I put all of my thoughts, ideas, things to do, etc etc etc.  The biggest and most important thing on my phone.  And now it's gone.  In the backup, it's gone.  On my phone, it's gone.  In my Yahoo mail (which I have synced notes) it is GONE.  What the **** am I supposed to do now?  How do I recover it?  There is no other backup.  Why would it be gone from my mail account of all places?  I thought I had that as my last resort.  Please tell me what to do because I am freaking out and without those notes, I might as well kill myself.

    Don't let us stop you.
Seriously, though, did you do any other kind of backup?  A 3GS is pretty old, so I'm kinda not surprised you lost some of the notes.  Those things tend to happen with the older devices.

  • What has happened to Apple?

Okay.  I've been an Apple fan since the beginning, but things are falling apart...  Mavericks is buggy.  Mac Mail hangs ALL OF THE TIME..  I've never had to force quit as much as I do now.  My iPhone/iPad is buggy and iTunes is just going nuts.  If I go to a song, it just starts flipping out and moving to other songs (and it never did that before)...  Sometimes when I end a call, it never ends until I shut down my iPhone and restart it...  And don't get me started on final CutPro X.  I really hope that Apple follows Steve Job's ideas, because since his passing, Apple has not been as reliable and as awesome as it used to be..  Please fix...  I'm using the latest MBP Retina and newest iMac and iPhone.   (I liked the way it was.  I wish I could downgrade)...  Thanks..

There are a lot of us long-time Apple product owners out here who feel the same way.  I have Mac with older OS (SL, Lion & Mtn Lion), and after reading all the problems with Mavericks I will NOT upgrade--ever.  I waited a long time to upgrade to Lion and Mtn Lion was forced on me because I bought a refurbed 2011 iMac (because they still have an optical drive--don't get me started on that omission starting in 2012) and it came with it.
Both my sisters also lament the downward slide of quality control in Apple products. One just bought the newest MBP with Mavericks, only to find she will be FORCED to use iCloud because there is no ability to sync to a computer.  We have a lot of CDs  and audiobooks NOT through iTunes (ever hear of free music and audiobook CDs from the library we are allowed to put on our computers?), and now there is NO way to put them on a Mavericks computer.  Apparently, this was not mentioned in all the hype over Mavericks.  Latest and greatest??? No, worst and "worser."
Have you seen the latest iCloud version of iWork? OMIG, it's not worth the digital imprint it takes up in cyberspace.  You can't do anything with Pages but the most, most, most basic commands. Of course, it's "Free."  Don't bother taking this free offer.
I'm mad at Steve Jobs for not getting the surgery at a point that would have saved his life--at least for a few more years.  I can't believe that he would let all this shoddiness slip through to the customers.
Apple seems to pander to the younger, newer purchaser who doesn't know any better, and us loyal long-time Apple product users be damned!
It's almost enough to make me switch to PCs...although who knows how they've changed things since I left them behind?  I will say the Samsung phone screens are MUCH easier to read than the iPhone, and I've been tempted to switch to Android iOS to get one.
I have an "Orchard" of Apple products, and even though they are aging, I don't plan to add anymore as long as I am able to use what I have.

  • I had a working Apple ID, yesterday I set my old iphone 4 for my mother, because I have a new one, from yesterday my Apple ID password stopped working, and to write here I had to create a new one. What the **** happened (this is another id)

    Hi,
I'm writting from a new Apple ID.
Yesterday i set my old iphone 4 for my mother. I own an iphone 5s.
I wanted to update my apps on my iphone and it doesn't want to recognise my password. I'm sure of the password, because I've been using it for ages, and also every few days I use it to update the apps. I tried to reset it, but it doesn't send me the email for resetting.
I created a new apple id with the same email, so I really don't know what to do anymore. I have applications that I payed for so I don't want them to be lost because of it.
And my 5s and ipad are registred to the old apple ID.
I am not able to call the support because I'm from Slovenia and it costs me to much to call.
    Sincerely
    Ana

  • What Has Happened to Apple Discussions?

Apple Discussions web site. It seems that every single day periods of a few minutes to a few hours go by with Discussions "tempoarily unavailable." When it is available, it is often abysmally slow. Offhand, I cannot think of another web site with performance like this, although Dell discussions had similar problems a few years ago and was a contender for the title.
An occasional word of explanation would be welcomed by those who time after time are unable to connect to Apple Discussions.
    Bob N.

    Robnich,
I bet they are working on Apple Discussions to make your and others experiences better. If you noticed when those "temporarily unavailable" messages appear that it is during the "off hours" of the average persons day. Usually it is during the day when most people are at work (mid day) and late night/early morning around 2ish. I have noticed the occasional slow down, but I have also noticed the same effect with other forums. If you remember what Apple Discussions was like after the switch; it is 101% better. You may want to try deleting the Apple Discussions cookies and then going back.

  • Cannot Buy Music on iTunes Music Store --- WOW -What's Happening at Apple ?

I am running iTunes 6.0.4.2. Since I upgraded I have not been able to purchase the music in my shopping cart, currently valued at about $200.00
My shopping cart displays properly, and when I click on the “Buy Now” button I get the normal purchase dialog. My account name is displayed correctly. After I enter my password I receivethe following message --
    “Purchasing Shopping Cart”
Unfortunately, the buy attempt fails, and it fails repeatedly. Over the past two days I have tried over 20 times to purchase music from the Music Store, and in every case the result is failure.
The error messsages follow a pattern
    ERROR MESSAGE ON FIRST ATTEMPT
    “Your account is temporarily unavailable.
The store is unable to access your account information. You may continue to browse the store. Please try again in a few minutes.”
    ERROR MESSAGE ON SECOND ATTEMPT
“Could not purchase the items in your cart.
The store is temporarily unavailable. (5555)
There was an error in the Music Store.
    Please try again later.”
    ERROR MESSAGE ON THIRD ATTEMPT
“Could not purchase the items in your cart.
    An unknown error occurred. (-50)
There was an error in the Music Store.
    Please try again later.”
After these errors the system simply fails to provide any error messages at all.
    My music downloads never start.
These errors seem to be permanent. Over the course of all last evening, early this morning, and now late this afternoon, I have received the same set of error messages over 20 times.
Seems like Apple's iTunes is not producing much revenue.
How about a fix ASAP ?
This is CLEARLY Apple's problem, NOT Mine, as evidenced in these iTunes generated error messages.
Come on, Apple – Clear up this mess
LATE BREAKING NEWS -- I now only receive the first error message, after which the Music Store just sits there unresponsively, producing no messages at all.
I guess Apple did not like the 2nd and 3rd messages. They clearly indicate that Apple is at fault here. From the number of postings, I guess that it pretty clear to all of us.
    COMMENTS ?
    .

It's interesting. There's clearly something wrong with the Music Store, but everyone seems to be having different problems. All lead to not being able to connect or stay connected. I can't connect. I don't even get the luxury of starting something in the store and getting an error message. It just sits there reading "Accessing Music Store." And it never accesses. And if I leave my computer on and let iTunes run, it will continue to say "Accessing Music Store." I can even close out iTunes and reopen it and it will continue to say "Accessing Music Store." It gets stuck. It's doing it right now. The only way I can get it to stop is by shutting down my computer. That's right. Even if I disconnect my LAN line, it will continue to read...well, you get the point now, I'm sure.
I am glad to find out that it's not just a problem with my computer. My computer's not the best, so I was convinced that it was just my computer. But I just happened to take a look at the forum. Well, it looks like we're just going to have to wait for Apple to do something about it.

  • WHAT THE @@@ happened with Mail Merge for Pages ?

This was a great feature and it appears it is NO LONGER AVAILABLE Greta option to merge with Address book
Can anyone enlightenen me as to
    am I wrong
if right, why the change ?
is it too be replaced ?

Thank you for your valuable Tip of resorting back to Pages 09!
After 10 years of switching to "Apple", of buying all their products (iPhone, iPad, etc), I'm still struggling with the imperfections of "Pages" compared to  "Word". Inspite of that, I execute 90 % of my corresponce on "Pages" just because of the possiblity, to manage all of my personal information, i.e. addresses etc, on one platform. (For serious text work, I still use "Word".)
The sensible tendency of "Apple", to lure you into the "cloud" is frightening because at the same time they convey you the feeling, that your very own data is not your property any more:
    - If you disconect your addressbook from the cloud, it may be completely erased on your own computer
    - Synchronizing of your data is forced more and more on the cloud
    - Personal  information is hidden folders with limited or no access.
Of course, I'm lured by the convenience of easy use, yet I think, that this policy of "Apple" is a dead end road. They should at least give you an option!
