What the heck is a print album?

Question

Used to be very simple: select a photo, hit command+p and configure the printer; click print, picture comes out. Now I get a Print album? What the heck? all I want to do is print ONE photo; can't figure it out. I get this double pane thing at the top and when I click print it tells me I have no selected pages(?).
ALL I WANT IS TO PRINT ONE PHOTO AT A TIME!!
I can't believe that it's actually EASIER to print from Aperture and Photoshop now than it is from iPhoto.
How very 'Microsoft' this has become.
What am I missing?????

When I do what you say I get a window that has "Standard" selected in the left column and a blank white page in the main window. If I click print I get an error message: "No pages from the document were selected to be printed"
So then I hit "Cusomize" and I get the Print 'album.' I can see my image in there, but still can't print it (the screen shows a blank preview).

if I click print on screenshot 4, I get the error message (image 3) again.
