Nano was working fine, then stopped.
Diagnostic screen showing but faintly, very greyed out, I can only see it if held at particular angle under bright light.
Can't do the 3R's & won't register on iTunes either...HELP!

If you can mount and restore the iPod then the easiest way to find out what is wrong is to take it to a Apple service store. (sounds like you'll need a replacement -LCD issues)

Yes, yes, yes... I've gone through all the common sense trouble shoots. Would't be here asking questions if that answers existed on the net. Sorry if I sound a bit edgey, but I've had nothing but issues with every update since IOS 7. Clearly there's nothing that can be done about this. and this is the final nail in the coffin to try to make me buy an Iphone 5.

TS3682 I updated to a new phone.. Went to the PC to backup my phone and I get the corrupted backup message.. I go ahead and delete all backups for iPad and my iphone, restart everything from scratch and still get this message. What the hey is wrong?

I have replaced my old iphone. I had an older backup on my pc where I keep my ipad backup as well. I have also updated and verified that the new ios is correct.
Came home and decided to backup the old phone to recover photos, music, apps, etc...
Connecting the old iphone,I get the backup corrupted message that everyone sees.
I go into the backup directory and delete both backups, restart the itunes, restart the PC, and then reconnect my iphone to the pc whihc restarts iTunes.
Tried to backup the old phone again and still the same message...
So, this is the new world where you cannot backup a "smart phone"....
Anyone got any ideas as to what needs to be done?

I've personally never seen this message.
And what it means, quite simply, is that there is corrupted data in your iPhone, so it will not let it make a backup so that the corrupted data does not get saved and passed on.
All you can do here is manually transfer your photos, contacts, calendars to your computer. And then transfer your purchases. You will not be able to make a backup.

HD What the hey?

Have been working a HD project in Premiere CS 4. All of a sudden it started hanging up in HD mpeg 4 files. I did a repair/reinstall of Premiere now Premiere doesn't show any HD settings and won't see any of my mpeg 4 files at all. Any ideas?
Of course I have 5 TV comercials all due on Wednesday.

I dont see a downside really; unless you dont have a 64 bit environment.. It is not riddled with 100s of new features; but it is stable and fast.

What the hey - ANT classpath element?

I've fallen into this trap before. A book I have (java development with ANT) AND the ant manual itself reference a type called "classpath". See here:

When used however, ant dies with an error stating that the "classpath" type does not exist. And with good reason: looking at the ANT source code I cannot find this type anywhere!
What gives? Was it removed starting from some version? I know you can just replace "classpath" with "path" and it wil work :s

Ant defines tasks, which appear in the buildfile as children of the <project> element. Each task has a type that implements it, derived from org.apache.tools.ant.Task. A task definition provides setters for each of its attributes, and these may be invoked either in response to attributes in the task's element, or from child elements.
A "type" as referenced by http://ant.apache.org/manual/conceptstypeslist.html is a bit misleading. As Ant processes the buildfile, it will attempt to convert task attributes so that they can be passed to the appropriate setters. This is described in http://ant.apache.org/manual/develop.html#writingowntask along with the allowable conversions.
As to "classpath": if you look at the javadoc for org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.Java, you'll see a method setClasspath(Path s). As Ant scans the buildfile, it will look for an attribute or child element with the name "classpath", then attempt to apply a conversion that will allow it to call that setter method.
Again, what is it that you're trying to do? Asking that question will probably get you better results than questions about Ant's implementation.

I receieved a pre-approval offer from Eddie Bauer, which I sat on for about a month (but I had 90 days to apply/accept) and decided to apply today because I have a couple of trips coming up and have several items I want to purchase from them. I really only want the card because it gives me an additional 15% off my first purchase and also free returns, which is a pretty big deal to me since I live in the arse end of nowhere. Anyway . . . I got the freaking 7-10 day notice, which is ridiculous. Not 2 months ago I was approved for $7k with USAA. Both Cap 1 and Citi reecently increased my CLs several thousand each with no request from me. I have $21,000 available and a utilization that hovers between 1 and 5% because I use the cards to rack up points then pay off at the end of each cycle. My score is good, my DTI is excellent. I don't have any store cards. I just don't understand the wait. From what I understand Comenity doesn't exactly have the highest bar in the industry. Now I'm pissed because that's a hard pull and the stuff I wanted to buy is in my cart and even if they eventually approve me, it'll be too late to snatch up the sale and clearance items I wanted. From what I've read on here I'll either get a rejection or be asked for verification. Does anyone have a recon number I can call to speed the process up. I just don't understand why they feel they can be pickier than the top-tier issuers.

Comenity almost always requires the letter in hand before any of their CSRs will lift a finger to see if it's verification or denial. I grew very tired of calling and pushing to get anybody to look into my apps further. The backdoor thread has 800-303-1368 as the EO contact, but I think they're only open M-F. Good luck.

443 projects after iphoto library import - what the hey?

I recently imported 9500+ images to A3 via file->import->iphoto library and while all the images are in the A3 library, they are randomly split into a total of 443 projects (yes, I counted them thank you very much).
Is it possible to import the iphoto library to one project? Or at least to a number of projects in somewhat logical order? How does one do this?

The projects created after an iPhoto library input directly relate to the iPhoto events, each Aperture project was an iPhoto event.

I keep trying to poke them into action. I did send a email to the regulator who seemed to indicate the license or regulations we good to go . Maybe thier so hard pressed in building sites as you said although it seemed wrapped up a year ago. My friend ATT service is excellent here and the exact location has att tower there so I know this would work its just a matter of prodding Verizon into action . my hope is they will notice and do something about this .

Restore, if iTunes will let you. Everything except the password will be restored. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. Be forewarned that it takes a long time. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore and you have IOS-6 or lower, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. If you have IOS-7, read this.

Hey, so I have a Mac Mini which I bought nearly 3 years ago. I've been running the latest system 10.6.6, when the issues started. Everything would just unexpectedly quit and occasionally, I'd get the "You need to re-start your computer..." grey screen, also the desktop would refresh itself and not open any folders or anything at all. Finder, Console, Dashboard Client, etc all quit,´and sometimes the nmblookup thing would pop up, but before I could click Allow or Deny, it'd dissappear again.
I ran the Hardware Test, and four times out of seven it said "No Trouble Found" while three times out of seven it gave me an error code starting with 4MEM. The system profiler, meanwhile, told me that both RAM cards were OK. I did the Hard Drive verification through Utilities and it gave me some problem starting with "Key..." and said it could not be repaired.
SO, I reformatted the HD as it suggested, deleting everything (I've got it backed up though). Then, I installed Snow Leopard again, and the issues were still present. It would Quit Unexpectedly freeze up, etc. So then I went and erased the hard-drive again, and a new partition was made automatically. After that, I tried installing the original software which came with the computer. Except that after Installation Disk 1 was finished, the computer restarted and then it was just a blue screen. Nothing. It didn't ask for the second disk or aything. I tried again, and in the middle of Disk 2 Installation the grey "You need to re-start..." screen came down. ***. Now, I can't seem to install ANY Mac OS X on my computer, not what it came with, not the Snow Leopard, nothing.
Again, Hardware Tests tells me everything is ok, and the Hard Drive also says there's nothing to repair. Then what is this? I don't even know what it could be anymore! Please help if you have an idea of what this might be! Unfortunally, at the moment I have no money to send it to the repair so they'd check=/

Oh ok, well that was what the test said prior to reformatting the hard drive. Now, it doesn't find any trouble no matter how many times I run it. That's what has me so confused, everything seems to check out and yet...I can't do anything, not even install the software!

Hey there, I seem to have an issue with the 'other' usage thing.
On my computer and ipod, it shows like this:
when I dont even have more than 2+GB in music and less than 1gb in apps and pictures.
I am on iOS5.1.1 because I had many problems with the Wi-Fi bug for iOS6 (no, it didnt fix for me with 6.0.1)
I am very frustatred because I cant even sync music anymore. AndI dont want to do a reset because it takes me 3+ hours to transfer my music.
any help}?

Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like the display has a dark screen. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.
iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
Display has no backlight or dark screen
Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
If the low-battery screen appears, charge the iPhone.
