What the **** is up with iChat? It just won't connect anymore!!?
Ok, a few weeks ago I was looking at ways to (securely) screen share with my mothers computer (she is in England, I am in Germany) to help her out with problems she was having with MS Word.
She has Tiger on her iMac, I have Leopard, so unfortunately it is not just a case of utilising the 'screen share' function in iChat.
After doing some research into ways to screenshare between these two OS's, I downloaded Chicken of the VLC onto my computer and, although I am fairly sure I didn't actually use it, I did start it up, and I think, but I stress the word 'think' that since then, (about 6 weeks ago), it has been impossible to have an AV chat with anyone. Can someone please let me know if they have any ideas about what the problem might be?
If Chicken has created a VPN in the System Preferences > Network set it to Off

I'm gong to keep this nice and short... I have a memory card reader plugged into a Belkin USB hub which is obviously plugged into my iMac. When ever I put a card into the card reader it will work the first time, but on the next few tries it won't mount on the desktop or show up in Disk Utility. If I keep trying eventually I'll put the card in and the ENTIRE system will lock up (iTunes stops playing, iChat freezes, Finder freezes, EVERYTHING) the mouse still moves but I can't click anything. It's done this twice in the last half hour and 3 times throughout the week. So as the topic says "What the **** is wrong with my iMac?"
maybe its not the iMac but the flash memory instead. It could be the drive is corrupt and the computer is having a tough time reading it. Try erasing and then reformatting it to see if that changes anything

whats the current deal with popup windows in flash? I'm
trying to include popup windows in a site, and with IE7 (or
whatever the newest version of IE is ..the firefox lookalike) the
popups are not working at all, I have gone out a gotten other
sample popup scripts and I encountering the same problem, which is
the popups aren't working at all?
Is this a problem with just IE7 or am i completely missing
out on something here?

I purchased a Holux M-1200E Bluetooth GPS Data Logger. The device paired with my laptop just fine so I know it is working right. The device will not even show up on my iphone or ipad to pair via bluetooth. Is there a way to pair without jailbreaking??? I haven't had any trouble to date pairing any devic with my iphone or ipad, this is ridiculous!!!! Is there a way to update my bluetooth settings on my iphone 4s to be able to have this device be recognized??? I love my apple devices, but this is very frustrating. I bought this Data Logger for a specific purpuse to help out with my Search and Rescue volunteer activities, and I really need help with this!!! I am hoping apple will help me!!!

I looked at the same sight for that and it does not say that. This is the first time I have posted a question, you don't have to be mean about it. I am trying to get this to work for a good cause.
It may be the best source of assistance is the manufacturer of the device. I suspect you will need a specific app for the iPhone to get it to work, but the site is rather ambiguous about that. -
I had to reset my phone and I only have one of my ringtones I had 4.. Why'd it delete 3 and not the last one and now I can't get em back without paying for them again!!! What the **** is up with that??
Yup, your question and Diane's answer helped me also. Tho' I had had problems before getting into the iTunes store I always managed to find a way. Today they had me blocked cold with the "Update to 10" advert no matter what I did. Other questioners are being told, incorrectly as it turns out, that they have to update their OS to accomodate iTunes 10 and upgrade to iTunes 10. I did the download which did not take up much more room on my crowded old hard drive and now I'm back in business.

You have to use a valid credit card from the country you reside in.
You can only use a store of the country you reside in. -

How does apple know what the fault is with my iphone when sending it to them on apple care. My sleep/ wake button seems to be stuck so I sent in for a repair on the website and they sent me a apple care box and said send it back but I Carnt remember if I told them the fault or do they know by the repair ID number? Please help as I'm sending it off in a couple of day.

I have a work Mac, an air book, a home Mac; husband has desktop and laptop. That makes 5. My work computer was replaced and I do not know what the company did with it. I am not allowed to deauthorize all because I did this within the last year when I got my new airbook. Any way around the year limit? I don't know if I can find my old computer and I don't want to wait months to be able to play my ituens purchases on my new work computer.

I just got Apple TV it is working great but I can't get it to pair with my ipad2, they both search and the ipad says it is discoverable but they just won't connect. All my iCloud stuff has appeared successfully onto the apple TV

Beyond resetting what have you tried?
Common fixes can be to use a different USB port or different USB cable. You can also try updating iTunes, or uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes.
Does your computer see it at all? Is there a little chirp when you plug it in? -
Sometimes in a busy area, like a large shopping mall, my WIFI dropdown menu has a dozen or more selections, and my own hotspot (MIFI) does not show up. How do I get the Mac to ignore the dozen other options and find just my MIFI connection?
System Preferences>Network- Unlock padlock. Highlight Airport. Network Name-select your name. Click on the Advanced button. Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined." Click the OK button and lock the padlock. Restart your computer. -
time capsule first said the back up was delayed, now it won't connect to my home network. my internet is working fine and so is everything else but when i try to connect to the time capsule it says to check my server and ip address and if it continues to contact system administrator.. i didnt change anything, please help!
