What to delete to make space ? apps dont some

up to what itunes say they take
if ill leave the "other" alone its arount 1 giga
no videos songs pics
not even close
i do have over 100 apps
but most of them are under 50 mb
lets asume the apps actualy take 6 or 7 gb
so some of them have hidden files?
ive read somthing about them but couldnt find them or any zip files
the updates are so heavy?
unless the text on my notes evernote is sooo heavy
what takes the rest of the ipad?
with my terible math skils i cant figure out what takes around 7 gb on my 14 gb ipad?
where are the other 2 gb by the way?
where it is hidden?
what i saved?
what the apps added to the less then 100 mb they claim they are?
i need room for apps that are really heavy but that is somthing else.and lots of it.but the 32 gb costs like a pc.and i have so much maintenance with this one.
i had enough from deleting few mb here few there in apps or text
i want to clear few gb.
does the email is saved on the ipad or in server?

  • What can be deleted to make space

In system 10.4.11 what files can be deleted to make more space. For example can I delete the 0S9 system and OS9 Applications without any impact? I have already used the application to remove unwanted language supports. Any ideas most welcome.
    Thank you

can I delete the 0S9 system and OS9 Applications without any impact?
Yes, you can - assuming you don't need Classic anymore, and have versions of those applications updated for Tiger.

  • HT4858 I have 8.9 GB of photos, how do I delete and make space?

Question: How do I delete photos from my icloud to make space?

Photo stream photos don't take any space in your account, only camera roll photos do if they are included in your backup.  If you want to reduce your storage, either import the photos to your computer and delete them from the camera roll (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), or exclude the camera roll from your iCloud backup.  (You can put them in a folder on your computer and sync them back to your device by selecting the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.  They will then be in an album on your device that is not included in the backup.)

  • What to Save to Make Space on Hard Drive

I'm out of space on my internal hard drive and things have come to a crawl. I downloaded the nifty "Disk Inventory X" and it reveals many large files 2-4 GB. Some of them are iDVD files and some are iMovie files. How do I know what to save? If I made a movie, and burned it to iDVD, I still feel like I'd like to keep the original project files incase I need to edit. They don't have to be on the internal but I do want it backed up. What do I save - the Project, the Event, the iDVD? I have a number of Projects and iDVD files that just say "New Project1" or New Project. I must never have named them and yet they are huge files. What can I delete and what should I backup? Craig

Well, only you can decide what projects you want/need to keep.
You should know that an iDVD project is really a 'shell' that references to the media used within it, but does not contain that media. So, if you move, change, rename or delete an iMovie (or any other media) that you have used in an iDVD project, iDVD will not be able to locate the media and will not open. If you'd like to save your iDVD project intact so that you could burn a DVD disk in the future, you should open the iDVD project and select 'Save as Disk image' from the File menu. This will look like the burn process and the encoding will take just as long, but the end result is a disk image file, not a burned DVD disk. This disk image file is an exact replica of your iDVD project. It is self-contained, meaning that all the media information is contained in the disk image file. Now you can just save it and delete the original iDVD project. If you are not going to need the iMovie used in it, you can delete it as well. Because a disk image file is usually much smaller than the iMovie and iDVD project, you can save considerable drive space.
So open those iDVD projects 'New Project' and 'New Project1' and see what they are and if you really want/need to keep them. If they turn out to be important, you can rename them by doing a 'Save as' and then delete the ones named new project. You can then create disk image files and delete the iDVD projects.
For the movies, keeping all the original footage and the edited footage may be optimal for you if you anticipate further editing, but it does take up lots of space. You can move files to an external drive, but you need to do it properly.
With iMovie 6, it is easy to save....you just copy the movie to an external drive and keep it there, deleting the one on your main drive.
With iMovie 8, you need to be sure you are keeping all the necessary files together and moving the right ones.

I downloaded ios7 to my iPhone and it deleted all my downloaded apps. Some of them can be opened in the App Store. How do I restore the apps. Also, it changed the weather app to Celsius, how do I change it back?

Any Apps purchased with your Apple ID can be downloaded again, no charge.   Tap Apps icon, tap purchases.   This should pull up App Store and past purchases.   Apps made on another ID must be downloaded with that ID    ( my sons and I share a library on the computer! but have separate IDs.

I dont understand why my ipod says it has 8gb but holds 6.36gb capacity and it always says over capacity by 35.4mb and i deleted lots of my apps but it keeps doing the same thing soo annoying . ANYONE KNOWS WHY?!

I had a similar problem and after deleting endlessly...and weeks of frustration I (without even realizing what I was on to) deleted my text messages. I had been letting them add up since it seemed easier to text someone if it were readily available. Needless to say, I ended up with nearly double the space/memory available.

I would guess that a TV series takes up a fair amount of storage capacity. It is just a standard message I think that may indicate that you are actually running low on storage space.
If you go to Settings>General>About how many GBs are specified as being available?  If you are low on space maybe deleting some apps may help.

    EMERGENCY!!!!!!!!
IS THERE ANY WAY TO RETREIVE AN ACCIDENTALLY DELETED BACK UP FROM MY TIME MACHINE DRIVE????
In other words, I emptied out a folder on my main MAC to make space and the next subsequent backup backed up the EMPTY FOLDER and then deleted the "old backup" that actually contained the contents of the very important folder.
Now only the emptied folder exists on my MAC and in the two backups on my Time machine backup drive.
This was clearly a big mistake on my part not realizing that the "old backup" being deleted by Time Machine would include backed up files that I had no intention of getting rid of....
    What can I do now?
Is DATA RETREIVAL even an option?
I am sure that the Folder of files that I need are on the most recently deleted "OLD BACKUP" but how do I get to this, if even possible?????
    Super desperate situation here...

It may be possible to recover some of the data, if it hasn't been overwritten, but it won't be cheap or easy.
You've posted in the Time Capsule forum, but you mention a "backup drive."  If your backups are on a Time Capsule's internal HD, instead of an external HD, it's even worse.
    See Data Recovery.
    Good luck.

when deleting find i phone app i erased my apple id and since then my phone shut down as soon as it is opened what can i do ?

    Do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

... I went ahead and uninstalled CleanMyMac, it worked as the website says it did.
Actually, it doesn't. Following its developer's instructions leaves an active User Launch Agent com.macpaw.CleanMyMac2Helper.diskSpaceWatcher.plist.
    /private/var/run/com.macpaw.CleanMyMac2.Agent.socket also remains.
~/Library/Application Support/CleanMyMac 2/CleanMyMac 2 Helper.app is not deleted either, nor is app.com.macpaw.CleanMyMac2.playlist, nor a cache file in com.plausiblelabs.crashreporter.data - which is probably harmless.
Only its developer can know what the above files do. There may be others that I did not find. The reason their programmers chose to leave them behind is known only to them.
The following illustrates the contents of diskSpaceWatcher.plist and /private/var/run after following its uninstallation instructions and subsequently rebooting:

I just had a question regarding the OS X Recovery, does that uninstall all my files as well?
No. Reinstalling OS X leaves all your files intact. Unfortunately it also leaves system modifications such as those installed by CleanMyMac intact as well. Eradicating them is up to you.

I had created two photo albums on my ipad, by transferring photos from my hp laptop. I want to make space available on my ipad by deleting these photos, but the same hp laptop is no more with me. How do I delete these photos?

1, you can't at the moment, though with iOS 5 in the Autumn, from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#photos :
Even organize your photos in albums — right on your device
2, by removing it from you synced from and re-syncing. Only photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad (either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view)
3, the location of the photos that you synced to the iPad should be listed on the iPad's Photos tab when connected to your computer's iTunes.
4, you can copy the photos from your iPad to your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 . You should also be able to delete them from the iPad as part of the transfer process to your computer, and it's then your choice whether to add them to your sync photo list so as to copy them back to the iPad. Copying them to your computer would allow you to organise them into folders and therefore be able to sync them back into separate albums.
5, I don't use Dropbox either. There are some third-party browser apps in the iTunes App Store that allow you to download pages so that you can view them when offline e.g. Atomic Web (the whole page is saved within Atomic Web, it doesn't place a photo into the Photos app)
6, deleting content should help. If you remove an app from your iPad then you also remove the content that it's got on the iPad - so if you then decide to reinstall it back onto the iPad then you will need to manually add back any content that you want in it. None of the Apple built-in apps (including Photos) can be removed from the iPad

Material you do not need does not belong on your MBP.  What you are referring to though are rather small items and would be difficult to find them all.
I would suggest a clean install.  Backup all of your data, reinstall your OS, erase the internal HDD and then select only the data you wish to retain.  This way all of the refuse is automatically eliminated.
Further, consider a larger internal HDD before you do this.  The less data on a HDD, the better the performance.
    Ciao.
