When I called the support at AT&T they think the phone is shot and it is a hardware thing but i have a hard time believing that when it happened when I sync'd it to my computer. It did get progressively worse though, at first it crashed not that often and then got worse. So restores are failing, recovery, everything. Anyone run into this?

Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.

What to do with "Unknown Error"

I have just finished re-creating a website that had been published and is no longer in my iWeb domain file. I went to publish it and get an Publish Error that simply reads "Unknown error". How do you go about knowing how to fix this? I am at my wits end.

I got the unknown error message when I created a new page and did not change the graphics. In other words, I left the default picts iWeb created. Changing them and typing in new text fixed the problem and the site published normally.

What to do about runtime error

I got a new dell desktop last week with MS office 2013 and adobe acrobat x standard preinstalled. When I try to create a pdf from several different excel tabs and click on "choose sheets" it immediately comes back with Microsoft visuall C++ runtime liberary error. I've uninstalled both programs and reinstalled ms office first and adobe 2nd but it's doing the same thing. Help!

If you do the updates to AA X it might work with OFFICE 2013 (makes a difference if you are on a 32 or 64-bit OFFICE install also). By work with, I mean the PDF Maker macro works. In any case you should be able to print to the Adobe PDF printer (though on a 64-bit system you may have to do the updates to get it to work).

What to do about an "error downloading updates" to CS5

After a system restore in Windows 8, I reloaded my CS5 program, but components of Camera Raw were missing, specifically the horizontal, barrel, and vertical lens corrections. When I try to download updates to CS5, it appears the updates are down loading, but at the end I get only an error messagin saying updates failed to download; try again later. Any suggestions?

You need to add an entry, or double check that your entry is correct in your TNSNAMES.ora file in /Network/Admin directory. You need to have an entry for every database instance you have.
For example if you have a database called TEST then your WINNT/Network/Admin TNSNAMES.ora file needs an entry that looks like the following:
test.world =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS =
(COMMUNITY = TCP.world)
(PROTOCOL = TCP)
(Host = oracle)
(Port = 1526)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SID = test)
(GLOBAL_NAME = test.world)
Ofcourse the host and port..ect will equal what your database server says.

I just received the following error message in Lightroom 4 "This version of Lightroom may require the Photoshop Camera Row plug-in version 7.3 for full compatibility. Please update the Camera Raw plug-in using the update tool available in the Photoshop help menu." I have the latest Lightroom as well as Photoshop versions. I don't think I should be getting this message. Can anyone help?

If you do not have CS6 but an earlier version of CS, this message makes you aware that your previous version has not the latest ACR installed and thus cannot open your image as Raw-file.
And, you cannot install the latest ACR in previous Photoshop versions. They don't accept the latest ACR.
The solution is to let Lr render the Raw-file, i.e. Lr creates the PSD (or TIFF) and sends it to CSxx.
You choose this option by selecting <Render using Lightroom>.

It means that the update didnt work correctly and to prevent bricking your phone it displays that screen. Just connect your phone to the computer you sync it with and it should instruct you on what steps need to be taken.

Error -50 is a very unhelpful generic communications error with a number of possible causes. Something between the drive to which you are downloading and the drive from which it is all coming is not working correctly, which probably leaves several hundred options.

IPhone 6, Unknown Error 56, RED iTunes logo, stuck in recovery mode, won't restore, ios 8 - 8.0.2 update fail!

I just got my new iphone 6 and it was on ios 8 and everything was working fine i guess, i decided to download ios 8.0.2 as it was a brand new phone and i wanted the newest software on it to fix all the bugs just incase i had them.
i started the update process from the phone, and before the update was complete, i'd say 80% or so along the way, the phone goes into recovery mode displaying a red itunes logo and the cable on the screen.i tried all the suggestions out there and even googled and youtubed to try and find a solution with no luck. even did a few searches on this forum as this is the place i usually come to get most of my answers.
here is what i did in attempts to fix this.
tryed restoring through itunes on both recovery mode and DFU mode, with both ios 8.0 and ios 8.0.2 files.
let itunes re-download the update file just incase i had gotten a bad copy the first time around, tried with that
used 3 different computers, 2 macs and 1 pc
switched usb ports
unplugged all other usb devices
updated itunes and OS
always kept getting the mysterious "unknown error 56" msg searched all over for what that could mean with no luck. the process always seems to stop at the same place, and the second i unplug the phone, it jumps right back into recovery mode with the red itunes logo. if i were in a place that had a genious bar i would've gone there.
i need help fixing this problem please also i'd like to report this error to apple, really wanna do my part to help by reporting at the very least, so also if someone could tell me how to go about doing that, this is just sooo frustrating
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unknown error code 13014 problem, this is the first time I've ever seen it.

After I upgraded my PC, I copied old libraries and music files from the old hard drive to the new one. I installed the newest version of iTunes (8.0.2) and when I plugged in my ipod, I saw something I had never seen. Guess what it is?
'Unknown error code 13014!'
I had no problems for using every function that my iPod touch and iTunes have (including Genius play list) and of course, I've been updating every version of firmwares and iTunes programs. After I googled about this incident, I figured out this problem should not be seen on the newest version of iTunes but I'm still surffering from it.
Temporally, I turned off Genius Play List and now, that error code doesn't pop up but of course, I can not use Genius Play list because of it.
I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, restored firmware, moved Library Extras & Genius.itdb and do them again and again. Of course, none of them worked.
What can I do? Is there anyone else who is experiencing same thing to me? How can I get my Genius Play List function back?
Please Help me. I'm desperate. :<

Did you properly prep your new drive first?
Drive Preparation
1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder. If you need to reformat your startup volume, then you must boot from your OS X Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID (for Intel Macs) or APM (for PPC Macs) then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
Steps 4-6 are optional but should be used on a drive that has never been formatted before, if the format type is not Mac OS Extended, if the partition scheme has been changed, or if a different operating system (not OS X) has been installed on the drive.
When formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer. Complete the OS X installation.
I think you should shutdown the installer then erase the drive per the above and start again.

I'm creating a podcast at the moment. In order to keep track of the number of downloads of each episode, I made a script which stores the amount of dl's in a Database.
Since iTunes only accepts entries with an mp3 extention, or at least not with php, like http://example.com/podcast/tracker.php?file=episode1.mp3, I thought i'd use redirects:
The user/subscriber requests
http://example.com/podcast/download/episode1.mp3 .
apache rewrites the url to
http://example.com/podcast/tracker.php?file=episode1.mp3 ,
which then readresses to
http://example.com/podcast/media/episode1.mp3 .
In FF2 this works fine, but iTunes gives me an error message about unknown error 8006.
What seems to be the problem here, and how can I fix it?

Please note that iTunes does not provide usage statistics, because we do not host feeds or episodes. Some podcasters have created mechanisms for tracking the number of times that each episode has been downloaded. iTunes does not provide support in how to track downloads, but the following notes may be helpful:
* 302s will be followed to a depth of 5 redirects and will not update the feed URL in the directory.
* The URL before the GET-style form values (before the first ?) must end in a media file extension (e.g. mp3). To work around this, the feed provider can alter their URL from this:
http://www.podcaster.com/load.php?f=&Wipeout.php
to this:
http://www.podcaster.com/load.mp3?f=&Wipeout.mp3
Notice how it says load.mp3 instead of load.php. It should be possible to accomplish this via various means, such as web server rewrites. iTunes looks at the extension of the path part of the url, i.e. the part before the"?".
