What to do after iphone has been dropped into red wine, what to do after iphone has been dropped into red wine
Embarrassed to say, but I dropped my iphone into a glass of red wine. what should I do?
Shut it off. Put it in a bag of uncooked rice. Let it sit for several days at least. Possibly up to a week.
Honestly, the chances are not good. The most cost effective solution might be to check with AT&T and see if you're eligible for an upgrade yet.

After 04 months of purchase of iphone 5 the lock button is too hard. At times its not working at all. The phone has been purchased in USA now I'm not getting service in India. After all whats the point in spending so much amount without any service.
The warranty says that Apple may restrict service of an iPhone to the country of sale, and any reliable salesperson will tell you that if you tell them that you plan to use the iPhone in another country. Such service restrictions are common with cellphones and are by no means limited to Apple's phones.
Sorry, but if your iPhone requires service, you will need to send it to someone you know in the US who can get it serviced and then send it back to you.

Have been advised by my email provider (recently blocked account requiring password reset) that they will only reset the password after a proven anti virus and malware scan has been done on ipad and iphone. Is this necessary and if so what do i use
As KP has pointed out, there actually aren't any anti-virus programs in the App Store. There are a few that allow you to scan e-mail or stuff like that, and a few that provide you with information about malware and new threats for other systems. But none are available that can scan your iOS device for malware, because the security restrictions in iOS do not permit any apps to have that kind of access to anything. Which means that you also cannot be infected with a virus (unless you have jailbroken your device).
If your account got compromised, that had nothing whatsoever to do with your iPad. Someone simply hacked it remotely. Happens all the time. It's really amazing that, in this day and age, e-mail providers are so ignorant of technology and how their own systems get compromised that they would try to require you to run software that does not exist! -
since updating my iphone 3gs software it has developed the so called "white screen of death" this happened immediately after software install. It has never been dropped or damaged. I have tried the solution which seems to pop up most of holding down the power button and the home button for 10 seconds but this hasnt helped at all. Tried ringing apple, who were less than helpful and disinterested as the phone is out of warranty. I am hoping there is a solution which doesnt mean shelling out for a new phone! any ideas?
Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore.
Try all of these.
If these fail, then:
iOS: Unable to update or restore -
After changing my e-mail address, two iCloud accounts were created, my iphone is unusable due to password requests every few seconds and my iCloud account has been blocked. What can I do?
So, you are saying that you set up a brand new Apple ID and then signed into iCloud with it, correct?
Are you also saying both accounts are disabled for Security reasons? If not, why can't you sign on with the one that is not disabled?

I changed my pass code and couldn't remember the new pass code. After several failed attempts, my iPhone has been disabled. What do I do?
If you forgot (or don't know) your passcode, restore the device from backup on the last computer it was synced with when the passcode was turned on... this will remove the passcode. If you do not have access to the last computer it was synced with, you will have to force it into recovery mode & restore as a new device.

I need to reset my phone to it's original settings after backing it up. It has been locked for several months and I do not remember the passcode. How do I do this??? HELP!!!
-Options for when an iOS device gets locked because of forgotten password-
Restore (and reset password) on your device by connecting it to the last computer to which it was connected:
iTunes: Backing up, updating, and restoring iOS software - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If you cannot connect it to the computer to which the device was last connected you will have to use recovery mode to completely reset the device, losing all data:
iOS: Unable to update or restore - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 - recovery mode (e.g., cannot connect to computer last used to sync device) -
Now I have a stack of Iphones that I can't use and I don't have a track record of who had them.??
From a company point of view, it is not very smooth. If you haven't kept records of who had what phone, or required the user to wipe the phone properly before returning it (maybe time to update your company policies), you'll have to contact Apple Support directly and provide proof of ownership for these devices.
Although there is no published process for getting devices unlocked, there have been reports that Apple can unlock corporate owned devices in situations such as yours, when device ownership is able to be proved.
In future, when someone returns a phone, make sure they go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all content and settings and enter their password for the process to complete. Then you'll have no problems. -
Phone drops contacts, anyone else have a fix for this?
Mine too. I "finally" got an iphone and supposedly stepped up to the now. I got an iphone 4 as it was free and I don't need every gadget available. I like some of the features, but Blackberry could teach them how to be user-friendly. And having to keep adding my kids back to my contacts is getting old. I have had to do this about 20 times and I only got the stupid thing at the end of July. Not amused and probably the last apple product I will ever own.

I dont understand what could be ther problem? I have enough space on the phone as well.. this is odd
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each step in order until the issue is resolved.
If none of the steps resolve the issue, a hardware problem exists. Take it to Apple for evaluation. -
My wife recently emptied her email trash. All emails were deleted, the Email icon shows a number of almost 4,000 emails. Since trash is definately empty, how can this excessive and false number be removed?
Thanks,
Bewildered and Wondering!Delete the account and re-add it.

My phone has been dropping calls on a massive scale. If I receive a text or email, my calls drop. I opened my mail to retrieve a msg and my mailbox graphics was gone. Voice activation and music starts on its own without me even touching my phone. Apps can't be installed on wifi or 3G. The echo from my headset is very annoying. I cant adjust my vibration settings because it doesn't vibrate on silent. It hasn't been dropped or wet. This just started last week when I upgraded to ios6!
If a hardware problem, hardware can fail at any time.
What troubleshoot steps have you tried if any such as powering the iPhone off and on, an iPhone reset which is similar to a computer restart, restoring the iPhone with iTunes from the iPhone's backup or as a new iPhone or not from the backup?
If no change after restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the iPhone's backup, the iPhone has a hardware problem. -
Since updating my iPad and iPhone to the new software iOS6, my wifi has not been working properly I'm either getting a very week signal or the signal is dropping completely. Has anyone noticed this?

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
Try This - Renew IP Address:
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

IPhone 4 Can't receive incoming calls and sms after 3G has been activated
I can't receive incoming calls and sms on my iPhone 4 after the 3G connection has been activated and used actively by me. Outgoing calls and messages do work and as long as I use the Wi-Fi connection everything's fine but the problem appears after switching to 3G. Any help? Thx in advance!
I think the next step is to do a reset by holding the sleep and home buttons down at the same time until the Apple logo appears. If you haven't done this before, keep holding the buttons when the turn off slider appears. The screen will go black and after what seems like an eternity, actually several seconds, the Apple logo will appear. When the logo appears, release the buttons.

Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
You may take your device to an Apple retailer for help or you may call Customer Service and arrange to send your device to Apple:
