What to do for grayed out WiFi?

I restarted my iphone 4s and now my wifi is grayed out in settings. I didn't update it or anything. It is running ios 7.0.6. What can I do?

I had this problem last month. I ended up having to get a new iPhone 4S. It's a very, very common problem and in my opinion it should be covered by Apple for free since it is so popular and is an obvious hardware defect especially in the iPhone 4S.
So I suggest you order a new iPhone ($230 with no warranty) ($50 with Apple Care+). And while you wait for your new iPhone to come you could back up your iPhone and try some of the YouTube fixs. I put mine in a plastic bag (off with no air in the bag) in the freezer for 30 minutes, pulled it out, turned it back on, let the iPhone thaw out in the bag, and it then worked again for over a week before it died again. But I would only try that if you knew you had a new iPhone on the way. My cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth all went out so I had nothing to lose.

I have turned the phone on and off. Reset the network. Reset the entire phone and still no wifi. When I updated it has never worked properly.
I have read that many people are having this problem. Why does Apple not have a fix for this. It is obviously something wrong with the phone.

Grayed out WiFi is almost always a hardware failure that requires replacment or repair of the phone. If you tried everything in the article that led you here without success, take to to Apple or an Apple authorized service provider.
FYI, do NOT try the "freezer" or "hairdryer" methods you may see posted. At best, they are only temporarly fixes and are likely to cause more damage.

Sounds like the wifi radio has died. In other words, it's a hardware malfunction. Either call Apple or take it to an Apple store. If you're in warranty, it'll be covered otherwise, it'll be around $149 to have it fixed/replaced.

3rd Gen Ipod touch 5.1.1 update grays out wifi

After updating my 3rd Gen ipod touch, I can no longer use wifi. The wifi box is grayed out. I have reset the network connection settings, and have reset the ipod back to factory settings and still nothing. I see that this has happened to lots of iphone users but havent heard much about ipod touch. I wont even think about updating my iphone until a bug fix comes out. So far Apple is saying it is a hardware issue, but theres no way. No way thousands of people are having a hardware issue just after a software update. Can anyone help?

well, you know how it is - glitches that usually resolve with a hard reset etc
then a restore. then a factory restore....then ..... nothing fixes so I try the next step with apple online - fill out my serial number and find it is a couple of weeks out of date - and then with the holidays who has time to get to the apple store? this is my second 4s handset as it is - first one the glass cracked from L to R without any impact/damage etc - they changed it out automatically because it's a 'known fault' apparently - so technically, this handset is only 6 months old - but warranty is from original purchase date -
never imagined it would turn out to be a warranty issue with the phone - and hey maybe when I get a chance to go to the apple store they'll be sympathetic, but I won't be able to get there till at least Jan 4th as it is. On the other hand, another iOS update might resolve the issue - but how long till that release? at the moment I'm having to use my old 3gs for wifi and 4s for phone!!!

This question has been asked before, but has not been asnwered that I can tell.
My question is not "what is this menu item for?" or "How do I use this feature?" ... the issue that I am having is that the options are all unavailable when I try to use the feature.
Not looking for workarounds or other optoions ... I would really like to know why I'm seeing what I'm seeing, and what I need to do to get it to function.

I too have this problem. I was trying to allocate a mailbox for Spam messages but all the options as you stated are greyed out. I have search all over the place and cold not find a answer for this so I was wondering if many others are affected by this.
So I took a look at my wifes iMac and her mail application and she has the same problem so it is not an isolated one that I can tell. I phone my son who has a Macbook Pro and he reported the same problem, what the heck is goining on here?
I and my wife use MAC O/S 10.8 Mountine Lion and my Son uses 10.6 Snow Leopard with the latest patches.

What's needed for intel imac wifi sync?

I have an Intel Core 2 iMac 10.5.8 and just purchased the iPhone 4s and now have ios5. It doesn't look like I can sync over wifi, because in iTunes, it says 'requires iosx 10.6.8 or later', which I think is Snow Leopard. It also looks like its $29.99.
Is this all I need to do or am I going to also need to get Lion, which is another $29.99? I'm not sure $60 is worth being able to sync over wifi for me.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
btw, I'm running ios 5.0.1 and iTunes 10.5.1

Well you know what is needed which is Lion and the only way to get Lion is to first upgrade to Snow Leopard so I think you simply need to decide if you want iCloud or not. BTW it would be also wise to upgrade the RAM on your system, I'd recommend the maximum it can address to have the best user experience. I recommend if you decide to move forward buying OWC (www.macsales.com) or Crucial. Finally if you are running any legacy PPC based apps they will also need to be upgraded as they will not run in Lion. If you are not sure if you have any PPC based apps there a numerous articles you can find to show you how. One example is How to Check if Applications are Incompatible with Lion.

The screen shot that you provided indicated that you were not signed in to the service via Reader. There was a recent update to Reader that resolved a sign-in issue. What do you see when you choose Help > Check for Updates in Reader? What version are you running, and are there updates available. Please install any available updates, and try signing in again.

I want to know SAPs logic for graying out it. cat. field (PSTYV) when entering an Order. Item category cannot be changed while creating an order once its determined. How & why does SAP grays out it. cat. field and under which circumstances.
My case: I have a configurable item and based on this item subsequent item and its it. cat. is determined, once SAP determines second item it is graying out it. cat fields on both items. Though in configuration I have manual it. cat. maintained for both items along with dependancies. Any info on this matter will be greatly appreciated.
