What to do for oracle after OS Upgrade?

If I upgrade from Redhat Linux RHEL4 to Redhat Linux RHEL5 is there anything I need to do with oracle such as a recompile?
Thanks for any help, and if there is documentation on this I'd appreciate any info on that as well.

Thanks to both of you. Fortunately this is a question way ahead of the proposed schedule and hopefully 10gR2 can be certified with RHEL5 in the near future.

How do I get my iLife back for free after Lion Upgrade?

I upgraded from the Snow Leopard OS to Lion OS (using the thumb drive Apple sales) about a week ago, using a "Clean Install"; after doing which, I found that I couldn't find a lot of the app.s my wife and I downloaded. Our iLife collection is the only set I am truely upset about.
I called apple technical support and the lady asked me to find the Application CD that came with my iMac when I ordered it from Apple. I thought she would know what she was talking about and I ask a good deal of questions before using the CD. All the questions of which were answered to my satisfaction; however, I started the install of the CD and I got off the phone with the tech.supt. After about an hour, install done, iMac re-started, and my iLife app.s are no where to be found.
And!!!...My computer is now doing this freeze thing...where we have to do a Forced Power down to get it unfrozen!
Please help someone. I just want to get my wife's iphoto and iMovie back that she loves to tinker with (without having to pay for it all over again).

Do you work for Apple? So what you are telling me: it doesn't matter if I payed for it once, Apple is so low tech or just could care less about its customers that I am going to have to come out of pocket again. What is the point of the 90 day technical support that Apple offers with the Lion upgrade when it is purchased if the technical support just says...sorry, we can't help you with this problem.?
I am going to have to come out of pocket for a lot more than just the iLife collection that Apple has a copy of my purchase, which validates my request, yet Apple is not going to help me out. If that is the case, this would have to be the worst customer service I have ever gotten.
You are correct that it is my fault that my apps are gone because I did the clean install and did not think to back up my app.s, but is Apple hurting that much for money that it needs to squeeze money out of people that delete software by mistake? I have gotten two app.s for free from other small time app writers to put back on this computer after the Lion upgrade just by emailing them what happened and my info.
What about the freezing problem my iMac is having after I performed the task Apple tech supt told me to, which didn't work and created a new problem. You didn't address the freezing issue. You stating what I already said and adding a snooty comment to the end of it, while not offering any real help or advice pertaining to my questions, has been a waste of my time and an inconvenience to me that was not need. How about you think next time, before you type.

This forum is meant for issues related to database upgrades - pl clarify your question in your other post. AFAIK, there is no co-relation between database upgrades and WLS upgrades - but I have no expertise in WLS

Storage size too small for what I pay for (20GB) after setting up PC App

When I downloaded the PC app so I could access my iCloud the space went from 20GB to 5GB. I pay for 20GB of space. I used the same apple ID. Now on the PC I keep getting the warning that I an running our of space (5GB).

Whats the firmware version on both of your Velociraptors? If its not V4.04v02 or higher you will likely experience issues with RAID.

Do I need to reinstall java for mac after maverick upgrade

I just updated to maverick on my macbook pro and everything works fine. When i went to the preferecne the java option wasnt there so I searched it in finder and saw all the folder for it still there. I still have the download too. When i went to play minecraft it said I didnt have it. So I was wondering if I need to install java 7 agian. Also im only using it for the game should I do anything else in terms of security?

The short answer is.. No.
However, keep near by those SYSTEM and APPLICATIONS DVDs that came with your computer, just in case anything goes wrong.
... FYI... make sure to check SOFTWARE UPDATE after the install, for any updates to your iLife applications that will make them more compatible with Lion.

SAP_MANG Evaluation Path not working for MSS after ECC6 Upgrade

We are upgrading to ECC6 and still using an older version of the java/HTMLB MSS Business Package. We are seeing strange results in the vacancy request overview iview (team viewer like component) which is using a view driven by SAP_MANG Evaluation Path.

...so the user us shown as an org. Right off I suspected the upgrade to MSS 60.1.22 (the newest version of the old Business Package) so I installed the older versions of the components and the actually still worked but also showed this condition. So I have ruled out the java side as a source of the problem.
Looking at HRP1001 I see the following relationships among suspect objects.
Object P 1234567 to Object S 9876543 via B008
Object S 1234567 to Object O 9876543 via A012
no relationships US to P via A208
Given the Eval Path above, does anyone have any idea why this would display this way or have a suggested approach to solve.

not all relationships represent physical data records in the database. some are derived and without looking at the system, I believe the US 208 to P is a derived relationship.
Are you sure all the users you are testing with have a proper sy-uname setup for all respective pernrs in PA0105?

Gmail keeps asking for password after iOS5 Upgrade

I have an iPhone 4 that I upgraded to iOS 5 last night. It now keeps asking me for my Gmail password.

I've deleted my Gmail account and tried to add it back, yet it keeps giving me the bad password error. I've reset my password on Google mail and issue persists even when trying to use new password. Any ideas?

So I removed the buggy GMail account from Mail and waited a day. Today I decided to re-add it and all was well for one hour until the pop up for passwords happened again... I went into Preferences and accounts and saw my password wasn't stored so I added it and saved but still same issue.
Also I added this account to my iPhone and it was working fine til an hour again so maybe a syncing issue?

What will happen for games after restoring?

As my iphone has problem with push notification and it sends them even after reading the message, I want to restore my phone. I have backup on iTuens but not sure if I restore to them it solves my problem, because created the backup last night, when there was this problem.
Also I am not sure what will happen on some games like NFS or Temple Run? How can I have the corrent score on the restored game?

Hard to say, but if your problem is being caused by corrupt data on your phone, restoring from backup will merely restore the problem. What you could do is first try restoring from backup. If your issue is fixed, you're good to go. If not, then you'll have to restore as new.

What to do for syncing after getting a new machine?

when i originally got my iphone 3g, i was using a windows machine at company A. i was syncing happily.
then i moved to company B, new windows machine. everything works nicely enough except that iTunes isn't properly syncing applications. i've still got all my original applications on my phone, but when it does a backup, it doesn't download them, including apps i've paid for. so i haven't enabled "sync apps" since it lists apps i've downloaded on the new computer but doesn't list any of the phone apps.
i'm slightly apprehensive about losing apps -- if i enable this, will it all end happily?
complication: i'm off to buy a new macbook. i don't know if things work differently with a mac in this equation.

I'm not trying to pick a fight, but essentially my point was that whether you're using a personally owned machine or one at work doesn't matter to the issue at hand.. my last post indicates that I've resolved it, and happily, but Apple's documentation and statements during the workflow didn't establish any confidence.
But, just to be complete: I am the boss at my joint .. We're a small technology company in SF but I'm new to Macs. Some people use their own machines at work, some have it supplied by the company. Profit-sharing kind of negates the difference. Just how we roll...

What are the requirements for Oracle Locator?

Hi, when installing a new database, we want to trim out the stuff that Oracle installs by default that we don't absolutely need. However, we do want to make use of the MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY type and Oracle Locator (not Spatial).
Oracle has all these different components, and we jut found out that in order to use Locator, you have to install Oracle interMedia. Is there anything else there that Locator has a dependency on that we would be missing? We intend to install these:

Oracle Locator is implemented in the MDSYS userid. (It's included in every version and edition of the database since 8i, including 10gR2 Express Edition.)
As you have noted, Locator is considered part of intermedia. (In some versions of Oracle, Locator is officially a feature of intermedia, in others it seems to be independent. In all versions, it uses a commono install with intermedia.) I believe there are some Locator funtions in 10gR2 that are impemented in Java and require the JVM. The 10gR2 Express Edition (XE) does not include JVM and Locator seems to be mostly functional, but there are areas that do not work.
Technically you do not need Oracle Text or Oracle XDK/XMLDB. I've found they are extremely useful so I do include them in my minimum installs. They are also included in XE.
