What to do if apple support fails to rectify the problem? can the device be replaced??
i am using an IPOD 4 Gen
last 4 months, my ipod is not getting detected on my Windows 7 PC
its not detected in itunes nor in my computer
however it is charging.
it is charging via adaptor as well
i have tried changing cables, uninstalling/reinstalling i tunes.... going to SERVICES.MSC and doing all settings..
done almost everyting under the sun.
called up apple helpline, they helped for 7 hours over phone but no joy
what should i do now
can the ipod be replaced... i have taken it 4 years back
After four years they are not going to replace your device for free.
If you put it into disk mode and Windows doesn't detect it then either the cable is faulty, or the docking port. I've seen the port get clogged up with enough lint to prevent the a good electrical contact with one or more pins which is enough to prevent communications. This can be cleaned out with canned air or gently teased out with a thin sliver of plastic or cardboard. See Corrupt iPod classic for some info. on device diagnostics.

BOught gems in clash of clans and did not recieve them. Went to the forums and it said go to apple support. Apple support said go to the developer what do I do because they say go to each other?
You need to take it up with the developer first. If they don't fix things, you need to open the issue with iTunes support.
Going by the threads here, not a day goes by that someone doesn't have an issue with in app purchases in Clash of Clans. -

My camera and safari disappeared. I also have a passcode that I must enter and I can't remove it. These areas are grayed-out in settings as well.apple support said probably a software problem. But I didn't want to pay the $70 so I'll try this support

Try these steps to resolve the issue:

Restore your device on another computer.

I have 3 different apple devices (iPod Touch, iPad and MacBook Pro) using the same Apple ID and would like to use FaceTime to call from one device to the other. Do I need a different Apple ID for one of the devices in order to do that?

Yes you can do it. I do it with 4 different devices all using the same Apple ID.
You need to associate different email addresses for each device in order to use those email addresses as the "contact at" email address. The reason the calls are dropping on you now is that what you are trying to do is like calling yourself on your own phone.
You can also create new iCloud accounts on each device simply to use for FaceTime, but I'm guessing that the users of the other two devices have their own email addresses which will make this work for you quite easily.

The seems to go against what Gail said and the issue you raised about buying dup apps was my first concern. If this other post is correct, how to I set a different "contact at" in the iPod Touch?

I do a hard reset of my iPhone every so often because I feel it improves performance, but Apple states 'Reset ONLY if the device is not responding'. Forget about my OCD on this, but is their any reason my Apple stresses the ONLY DO THIS if not responding?

Thanks deggie, I think I get it now. Volatile memory (I had to look it up!) is memory that is lost on loss of power, so it's as you say... I'm not achieving anything on a normally functioning iPhone as on-off achieves the same result!... Thanks -

JimQuicktime will support DV, DV/NTSC, DV/PAL, h.264, mpeg1, mpeg4, m4v, animation (a 4:4:4 uncompressed file), photo jpeg, AIC
With the proper QT plugin, it will support WMV (plugin from Flip4Mac), HDV (mpeg2 plugin). ProRes (ProRes plugin). There are others that are hardware specfic codecs (eg AJA, Blackmagic, AVID) .
Is this a general question or do you have a specific codec in mind?

I filed for a case and my One-Year warranty is still available until Jne 2014 , somehow the description in the case is mixed up and says it was cracked or dropped, but the real reason is the Audio goes out on my iPhone 5 after the iOS 7.1 update every 20 minutes and I have to restart it. I talked to apple support and they told me my warranty will cover the audio issue, but it still doesn't say that in the repair description. How can I see that? or will they already know? Apple has told me that they will, but I don't want it to be mixed up and me have to pay for something and it not being my fault.
Besides checking the support status assuming you filed the case with your Apple ID, there is nothing more you can do. Nobody here knows that as nobody here works for Apple. We are users like you. Apple does not monitor this forum. You will have to contact Apple support for the information if you cannot get it the way I described.

My i-phone 3GS with latest operating system is not recognised in i-tunes, howver windows XP does see the device. I have tried all Apple support reccomendations to no avail. There was an error message when last syncing the device with i-tunes, I have uninstalled / re-installed etc and the device is recognised on other PC's i-tunes?
I have the same problem too. My phone wont show on my pc that's why I can't move my photos. But it does show on itunes.
Then I went to device manager and this is what I found. I dont know what to do though.

Quite often after doing a search using address book widget the next search won't work - I cannot type anything in the search field and I get the keyboard bleep as if I am doing something wrong. Anyone know what's going on? Cheers! Phil
