My iPod Touch 4thGen. 8GB 6.1.3, doesn't charge at all. For the past 2 weeks I've tried different cables/wires, 2 computers, different wall jacks, and my car charger, but to no success... And every time I somehow do manage to get it to charge, it doesn't show a lightning/electricity/zig zag pattern, only a "fully charged" symbol, and a few times don't seem to be charging the battery at all. I've been charging it for the past 4 hrs. and it's still at less than 20%. What do I do? I bought it last June, and so IDK if the warranty is still useful. It's screen is cracked(since January) and the power button doesn't work at all(since May) so I can't restart it or turn it off. My friend told me to fully drain the battery, so I did. But once I connected and charged it, for around 5 or 6 hours, even then it still had a low battery. What can I do?

Whatever you do in terms of charging will not destroy your iPod.
Many people charge when it's convenient. Others just connect the iPod for syncing to the computer and leave it charging overnight, regardless of the ramaining charge level. Life of modern batteries is measured in full charge cycles. A charge cycle is either a full charge or any combination of small charges that adds up to 100% charge.
The only real recommendations I've seen (including from Apple) is to keep the batteries away from heat and have a full charge once a month. For this, discharge the battery to about 20%, then fully charge.

What's the proper way to charge my iPod? I am confused because some people say that the ipod fast charges for up to 80% in 2 Hours and full charges up to 100% for the next 2 Hours, 4 Hours total. Now, i sync my iPod on the PC and charges it up to 2 Hours and the indicator on my iPod and iTunes already displayes the "PLUG" icon on the battery. Here's the part where i'm confused, how am i supposed to charge my iPod up to 100%/4 Hours if it will already be full w/in 2 Hours? Is it normal? :/

Lithium ion batteries don't require much special handling. Charge them when ever you want. You don't have to wait until they discharge completely. In fact, the one thing you really shouldn't do with a lithium ion battery is drain it completely and let it sit that way.

When you connect the iPod to the adapter or PC, you should see either of these signs on the iPod Screen .
If you just get
It may mean that your Adapter is not giving enough juice, because
the adapter or the cable is defective or
your bottom dock connector is dirty with lint or dirt.

First of all, you are fortunate that everything works. Secondly, I agree that rice may be the culprit in the charging port. However there is a chance that your trying to fix it could actually harm the port and cost you, so I suggest you first get under a bright light and use a magnifying glass to see exactly what and where the obstruction is. Attempting to connect the charging cable has probably already forced the obstructing substance further down into the port. Obviously the port is small and will require some kind of tool to help you remove whatever is in there. I suggest a plastic toothpick that is not likely to break and shouldn't do damage to the contacts. Tweezers may be useful but if utilized be very cautious not to scrape anything if at all possible.

- Have you tried resetting it:
