Hello all, I am writing this message in the hope that somebody can help me to solve my issue with my iPod touch fourth generation. It has been unable to sync with iTunes, but shows up in windows as the iPod touch. I also had this problem with my older iPods as well (Ipod nano 4th Gen, iPod touch 2nd gen(Batteries done for that one)) I can sync music with iCloud, but I have a bunch of songs that are not in the store, and I sincerely want to add those, alot.
I've checked the "iPod appears in Windows but not in iTunes" with the link here: (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1363), and followed that process, but to no avail, it does not solve the problem. I've tried to reset the entire ipod by making it enter DFU mode and then rebooting the entire iPod (shows up in iTunes in temporary mode) but once restored, does not appear in iTunes, but still in Windows detected still as a iPod, looks like the iPod and everything. I also have the most uup-to-date iTunes installed (10.5 I believe, just got it today)
This is extremely frustrating because that is why I purchased the iPod (and for the games and apps, those are great too). The iPod was also purchased three days ago, and the setup still didn't detect it. I am not mad at anybody here or the Apple company itself, but I have not found any help online with the browsing option (for support of course).
Please, I would absolutely love the help, i'd be eternally grateful for it.
-TylerNever mind, turns out that by uninstalling the programs "Megakey" and "Megaupload" it had resolved this issue.

My iPod touch 4th gen does not connect to itunes
Okay, so I never had problems with my iTunes until recently. Whenever I connect my iPod 4th gen into the computer, it connects and charges but doesn't show up in my iTunes. My iPod works and everything, it just won't connect to iTunes. I reinstalled iTunes completely like it said in support, and I have restarted Apple Mobile Device, several times. I have the current iTunes 10.4 too. Does it have anything to do with connecting my iPad 2 into the iTunes? Because it was fine up until I had done so. Also, when I check my services the Apple Mobile Device service is stopped when I connect my iPod. Before it, it says running though. My iPod will also connect to other computers, just not my own. All other computers have also not had the iPad 2 connected to it. Any thoughts? I would really like to sync my games and music to my library again, without having to go to my sibiling's computer.
Did you try to create a new user account in Windows, set up your iTunes account, disable autosync and connect your ipod? Try to transfer your purchases and back up manually before your sync for the first time. And don't forget to set up at least one contact and event in Woindows, to ba able to merge contacts and calendars.
If this works, try to do the same for your ipad. If still ok, you might have to remove all Apple related Software for your other account, as described here: Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
Did you also check your security software settings?
Additional Information
If the Apple Mobile Device Service still will not start, or if it stops unexpectedly, this could be caused by third-party security software. Please follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.

My ipod touch 4th generation is not recognized by itunes or my computer.
It has a list of instructions as to how to fix it and I followed them until it said to load the driver for the device from a disk.
I have no such disk nor do I know of one.
My computer said the driver is present but there is a problem installing it.
Does anyone know of what disk they are talking about?iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X

Ipod touch does not appear in itunes on a computer with windows 8.1
I purchased the latest ipod touch for my daughter from an apple store but it would not display in Itunes on a computer running Windows 8.1.
The apple technician got it to work but in the process disabled the the driver for the CD/DVD reader. What gives? If your iPod touch does not appear under Devices in iTunes after you connect it to your Windows PC, refer to the troubleshooting suggestions here:

Ipod Touch 4th Gen will not sync with Itunes 11.1
I upgraded my Itunes to the latest version, now I can't get Ipod touches to sync that are 4th gen. Any help?
I FINALLY got it to sync. I had to unplug and restart my computer 3x's then it worked and went like a charm. It was getting to step 2 of 5 in the sync then just freezing. I let it run for 15+ hours the first day.
I do have to ask though since I have a knowledgable person:
My son's Ipod touch broke so I bought a refurbished one. How can I change the ID on Itunes or his touch to reflect his Ipod? -
I have tried every trick in the book and read every thread on why my version of Windows Vista will not allow me to get at the iTunes Store. I cannot even get this new iPod Touch to sync with iTunes.
I've rebooted, soft restart, hard restart, removed iTunes and re-installed iTunes. Nada...nothing!
Does anyone else have the same issue and can they offer me a solution?See here for different ways to conserve your iPod's battery life.

IPod Touch 4th Gen Does Not Sync
Basically had an black iPod 4th generation for 2 years this christmas. It worked perfectly til September last year and the suddenly out of no where it seemed to stop syncing. I click the sync button and it seems to either do nothing and the sync button becomes unable to click again or it starts to sync and then just stops. My iPod is also does not back up, or sync ANYTHING. Im finding this really stressful as i can't use my iPod to the full ability. Ive done updates with my iPod and my iTunes, everything is up to date and i have also tried many other iPods which worked fine with my iTunes, i did this to make sure it was my iPod which was the problem.
