    help!

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
You may have to force iPad into Recovery Mode

  • What is the url when you forget your password?

What is the url that needs to be entered when you forget your password to retrieve it?

Can I just point out the obvious? (Well, it is to me at any rate!)
If there was a URL that "needs to be entered" (I assume you mean a URL to be visited), in order to retrieve your password when you forget it, wouldn't that enable those people you know and wish to prevent getting in to your iPod (which - presumably, is why you put the password on it) to go to that same URL, get your password and use it to get into your Touch?
    Or is it me?

  • Repeating the message 'Did you forget your password? "message. Help

When I try to login to the iTunes store or check my account I get the error message:
*Did you forget your password? Your password was incorrectly entered numerous times and for your protection, you will need to retrieve it before continuing to use the iTunes store'*
Of course I have followed the link, re-set my password, tried to log in and I get the message again - and again - and again
    the iphone works normally.
    any ideas?

as you suspected, when you click on that "Did you forget your password" link on your local install, you're supposed to be taken to the screen where you can have your password reset to a system-generated value. after resetting the password, an email is then sent to the email address associated with that users record. having said this, can you let me know the URL to which that link is directing you on your local install (sending it to [email protected] would be great)? it sounds as if it's not pointing to the right place...for some reason. to be thorough, could you maybe include the url of the screen you're coming from as well? maybe there'll be a clue there as to what might be causing your issue.
    thanks,

A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup. If you do not have a
backup to restore, then restore as New.
If you are restoring to fix a forgotten Restrictions Code or as a New device, then skip Step 9 and restore as New.

What to do when you forget your apple security question

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • What do you do when you forget your password? I am trying to install photoshop and before a window comes up saying it's locked and I have to put in my password to continue. What password and what do I do if I don't remember it!!!

Trying to install photoshop. I get a window that comes up with a lock icon under the Adobe icon and it wants me to give the computer permission to add photoshop so it's asking for a password. I don't know which password it wants and I fear I have forgotten my main password for this computer!
I see to change your password, you have to know your old one. Any help out there?

The Username and password required is that of an Admin User.
If you only ever created your original account, that is your account and your password.
If you auto-login, and never use that password so that you can't remember it, Your Mac is incapable of telling you -- it was encrypted as it was entered the first time, and is never stored "in the clear".
You can change the Admin password, if you can remember your Apple-ID and password.

  • HT1904 what happens if you forget your password?

    hi everybody

That depends on what the password is for. If it's the password for your iTunes account then you can try this link : http://iforgot.apple.com
If the passcode to unlock the iPad then you will need to connect the iPad to the computer that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the iPad and re-sync your content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) - you may also need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If the code for Settings > General > Restrictions on the iPad then it will depend on whether it was in place on the iPad when you last backed up. If it wasn't then you can restore to that backup and it should be removed. If it was on the iPad when you last backed up then the only way to remove it is to reset the iPad back to factory defaults and you can then re-sync your content back to the iPad - you won't be able to restore to the backup as that will keep the code in place.
