What to do next.... to get KeyNote
Good morning
I have recently upgraded my OS X to snow Leopard as I was running on 10.5 as I wanted to download keynote on to mac book pro.
However I cant seem to find the Mac App Store icon on it - I am presuming this is because I only have 10.6.3 at the moment - do I need to update until I get up to version 10.6 or higher to find the Mac App store which will then allow me to download keynote directly?
Any help will be greatly appreciated as I am a novice mac user :-(

If your computer meets the minimum requirements, you can purchase and download OS X 10.7 'Lion' from the Mac App Store online. It is also available on a flash drive at about double the price of the download.

Even though Lion runs in 2GB system RAM, 4GB or more is highly recommended.

First Timer – Can't get Win Xp Pro to Load – Blue Screens - What to do next??
This is my first build, and I have the following hardware:
Athlon64 939 3000+ Processor
MSI K8N-Neo2 Platinum Motherboard
Corsair TWINX1024-3200C2PT 1GB DDR400 (512X2)
Hitachi 160GB 7k250 SATA Hard Drive
ATI 9600XT AIW Video Card

After putting it together, I observed the CPU temps in the BIOS for a while (my concerns, now gone, are documented in another thread), and never noticed any other problems. I partitioned the hard drive using Partition Commander, from the CD.
Last night was the first time I tried to load Windows Xp Pro (have used 98SE on my old PCs), and it did not go well. Although I had loaded the Partition Commander S/W a number of times via the CD ROM drive, the first time I tried to load Win Xp, it wouldn’t boot up from the CD ROM drive. I had to try it a few times before it started (even though the CD ROM was set to first priority for booting in BIOS). Once started, when it was in the middle of loading files (not far into the entire process), I started getting errors with wording something like “Couldn’t load file XYZ, hit enter to retry, or cancel...”. After hitting Enter a few dozen times, it made it through that part of the process, but then later, I started getting blue error screens reading “A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage ...” I rebooted and the installation resumed, but every time but one (I must have tried it six times) I ended up at a blue error screen before it finished. At the bottom of these screens, there was always a line that read (but not always the same numbers):
“*** STOP 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x804EAAB4, 0xEE7A8C80, 0x00000000)”. One time, there was also, after the first para on the screen the line “DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL”. Another time, it made it to the final (I think) “Saving Settings” part of the process, showing 5 mins left to go, and just hung.
Can someone help me figure out what these errors mean? I’m at a loss as to what to do next, and of course really want to get this thing up and running. I read another similar thread where people suggested the PSU was insufficient (he was using a 300W PSU), but I don’t think that is the issue here. I’m also sure I have the latest BIOS version (V1.4) for my motherboard, so that shouldn’t be an issue either.
Thanks in advance for your help....ThksnowThis is a completely new install (new h/w and s/w) of Xp Pro w/SP2 incorporated (not an upgrade). Someone recommended removing one of the two memory sticks, and trying to load Xp afterwards, then reinstalling the 2nd stick after the install completes. I tried it tonight, after reformatting the partition, and the install went completely thru without a hitch the first time!!! I can't explain why it worked, but I guess there can be some kind of memory issue when you have two dual channel sticks during an Xp install. I have now reinstalled the 2nd stick, and so far, so good. Tomorrow I will run Memtest86 to see if that turns up any errors. By the way, how do you tell if it's truly operating as "Dual Channel"? Is there some way to tell?

I downloaded a film from ITunes in HD and had problems, I upgraded to the latest version of ITunes and have then downloaded the film again in SD on my Windows 7 computer, but I still can't get the film to play, any idea's what to do next?

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 and am trying to upgrade to 13 - getting error message that "file archive part" of Adobe 13 is missing. When I try to download installers for older products it only goes back to v7, not v5 what to do next?

Hi all! I rented a movie and it actually partially downloaded but the connection must have not been very good because it never fully downloaded. I actually watched a little of it thinking it would just finish eventually but it never did and now it just keeps trying to download the whole movie again and gives me a "download error. tap to retry" message after about an hour.(I'm back home now and have a great connection) I have tried deleting the video and gone back to the Itunes store to even re-rent the movie but it just says "downloading". Not sure what to do next, it seems to have fallen into a loop that it can't get out of. I have also tried turning off the Ipad and turning it back on but it doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions?? I can't seem to find any help on the support website.

However, recent changes at Adobe require that a person join the "Technology Partner Program" in order to get access to the Debug version of InDesign.
This is by invitation only. I'll repeat that because it's important. You can only join the Technology Partner Program if you are invited to join.
Only someone who works at Adobe can invite you.
What this means is that you should talk to your Adobe contact and ask if they would be willing to sponsor you in joining the Technology Partner Program. You can then email [email protected] with the name and contact details of your sponser so that you can join. You'll then be assessed to see if you can join the program or not.
Once you have joined then you be given access to the Debug version of InDesign. -
I cannot get my iMac with built-in airport wi-fi to allow internet connections to Nook and PS3. The devices access the network, but internet connection fails. Internet sharing is enabled, network security (WEP, WPA) is disabled. What to check next?
On an additional note, I've purchased a wireless router and everything connected on the first attempt. It just vexes me that the built-in wireless isn't working as a router. Is this another example of "Mac only plays with Mac"?

I have successfully installed the CS6 master collection and all the programs seem to be working apart from InDesign. When opening it I get the message "Cannot load Assignment UI.InDesign because it requires Username. Please install the Username plugin and restart InDesign.". I have no idea what to do next?
Many people use a font manager to organize a large collection of fonts, and sometimes these cause problems in ID. You might not realize that the font manager has installed a plugin in ID, but I think you would know if you added any other program extensions to help you work.
Can you show us a new crash report since the 8.0.2 update?
What happens if you start the Mac with the Shift key held down to prevent extensions from loading? What happens if you go to the System settings and create a new user, then restart the Mac and log in with the new user? -
I rented two HD movies on Apple TV, both at the same time. I was able to watch one, but the second says - "error while loading this content, try later" - well I tried later numerous times and continue to get the same message. What is my next step??
No, the film will be available for 30 days, but once you start watching it the clock will start running and it will expire after 24/48hrs (depending on location).
You said you rented on Apple TV, which has no accessible storage. When you choose to watch it starts to cache to the small flash drive, which is then flushed when you access another movie (or any other content). Everything is streamed so it will need to load each time. If you want to store any content you need to do so via computer.
Network issues can also contribute to seeing such an error. If on wifi, try ethernet. Make sure DNS is set to auto (settings - general - network). You can also see the status of your network by getting a report (istumbler, netstumbler or similar), to look for signal strength, noise, nearby networks.
Other services use adaptive streaming so they won't be much of an issue. -
I am still running OS x 10.5.8 what is the next step up and the easiest way to get it. Does the Genius bar have the capability to get me to the most recent software if I take my Imac in
iMac G5 - you are at the end of the line, though you may be able to upgrade your RAM, or hard drive.
iMac CoreSolo, CoreDuo - you can upgrade to 1 GB of RAM or 2 GB of RAM and get up to 10.6.8.
iMac Core2Duo - you can upgrade to 2 GB of RAM or more and get up to 10.7.2.
Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac to determine which Mac model you have.
Here's what you have to watch out for on 10.6 to 10.6.8.
Here's what you need to watch out for on 10.7 to 10.7.2.
Some stores may not have 10.6 installer CD available, or may not have 10.7 Flash drive available. For those you have to make the purchase from elsewhere,
and bring it in to the store with you. http://www.apple.com/retail has phone numbers for all their stores, and extension 5 often will get you a real person at the store, though if yuo don't get it, you might try a different extension. -
