What to do now!

So the iOS 6 software totally crashed my  ipod 4g!  I have tried all the restore advice and get error code 3194.  I don't know why its comes up with that when I don't have any third party data.  I even went to fix the host file and it was fine.  My warranty is expired so I am wondering if Apple is going to fix it since their update screwed it up! I am seriously ****** off about this. I will not update my iphone or ipad because I'm afraid it will screw them up too! What to do now?
