What to do? Reinstall? Help using TM

I just got an external hardrive in hopes of backing up my MacBook and then clearing off as much as I can and then just bringing back the things I need. I feel that my mac is so cluttered up and is running slower lately. I've had it for a few years now and there are things I don't need anymore and files and apps I don't want to get rid of, just not have on the system all the time. I'm just scared to officially lose them, yet I want the space on the computer!
What should I do? Will Time Machine work with a resinstall? Or is there a better option? Any help would be appreciated. I am new to Time Machine so I don't know what I am doing! Thanks!

If you want to remove files from your hard drive then Time Machine is not how that's done. If you want to use the external drive as a backup drive, then you cannot also use it as additional storage unless you partition the drive and use one volume for your storage needs and the other volume for your backup. The backup volume needs to be at least the same size as your main hard drive. If you use Time Machine for backup then the backup volume needs to be at least twice the size as the main hard drive. The remaining space on your external drive could then be used for additional storage.
Extended Hard Drive Preparation
1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to two. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Use the sizing gadget to adjust the size of each partition to what you will need. The backup partition should be sized as I outlined above. The remaining space will be the second partition. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID, then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Select a volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
7. Repeat Steps 4-6 for the second volume.

The previous owner has not given you the correct ID and password for you to use.

Careless? Possible, but unlikely. Most likely the phone was stolen from the first owner. It would be a VERY careless iPhone owner who did not erase their personal information from a phone before selling it, and to do that it is necessary to disable Activation Lock. In most places in the world knowingly using stolen property is a crime, so the fact that the phone doesn't work may be the least of one's risks.

If you know standard transaction or program for purchase order or for any function . you can know the affected tables by that transaction or program USING TRANSACTION
'SE49'.
I am working on 4.6c it does exist in this version.
if does not exist on ur version
then other way to find affected tables by a transaction or program is--
first find the development class for that transaction (like Va01) then goto se80 and enter that development class .it will show all the tables affected .
steps to find Development class for example (Va01).
press F1 to any field then click on tech. info
(ii) double click on program name(SAPMV45B).
(iii) click on object directory entry in GOTO menu.
(iv) from here u will get Development class (VA).
now in se80 u will get all the databasec tables under the node object entry.

You can find the Apple Bluetooth card on eBay for as little ten dollars (says its for the 2008 model Mac Pro, not sure about the 2007).

Just make sure that the part will work in your model Mac Pro. To that end, you may be better off avoiding eBay and going to a parts reseller. There are even third party cards that use the internal Apple bluetooth slot.

In theory, using a USB or PCI card will work at login so long as it is recognized by Apples drivers. You say you need to launch an application to use your current USB Bluetooth dongle? If it is not controlled by the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar then it must be using a third party driver of some sort. Unfortunately, I don't know off hand which USB and PCI cards are supported.

I just realized that my AppStore is gone from my Dock. Idk when or how.
So I downloaded the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update combo and reinstalled it twice.
AppStore is still nowhere to find on my iMac. I've searched on Finder and Spotlight.. still NOTHING!
So I'm stuck here, confused and hopeless. PLEASE HELP!

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
When an app that came preinstalled is removed, it can't be reinstalled by using the Combo version. You have to reinstall Mac OS X by inserting the Mac OS X disc and reinstalling Mac OS X. You won't lose anything, but you should make a backup of your files.
Finally, open  > Software Update, and install 10.6.8, or use the Combo version

What can I do to get my ID to work. The error code I get is Unable to verify email because it is already in use. Where do I go to find out who or on what program it is being used?

Christmas present a new ipad. Refurbished. I am not sure what the stats are. All I do know is I sure could use some help and would be very appricative of it.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

TV@ Plus, what video capture settings to use?

I have a TV@ Plus and am unsure what video capture settings to use. I've had it for several months and solved my audio problems and need to know what Video Input Format, Capture Format (Profile), Capture - Size, Quality, Bit Rate and Audio Format settings to use. Should I use the same settings for all input sources or do I use different settings for CATV and S-video inputs? It seems to be OK with my current settings as far as capture and playback goes, I'm OK on the hardware part but with tech detatails I'm a bit .
I will be using it to capture from CATV, DVD and VCR input sources for later recording to DVD's. I use a GoDVD! CT-2 connected to the S-video input for recording Macrovision protected media to the HDD.
My computer sound is monitor mounted stereo speakers.

I already had transferred and converted some of my old VHS and VCD movie collections into DVDs (using Composite Input).
The higher the bit rate the better quality video output you will have - but bigger file size.
To give you an example:
A 2 hour video captured on MPEG set at 4000/bps will be translated it to 3.58GB. More than enough to be written on a 4.7 DVD.
For audio bit rates, you can choose from 128/bps to 224/bps. As for me I set it to 224/bps. Again the bigger bit rates the better audio output. And don't forget to slide up the audio record level to 100%. That will give you a better and clearer recorded audio output.

Your boot drive should be 30% free to really perform properly. 10% minimum

Design document is basically a document to say how the design is to be developed for a particular solution ex: FI it says what is the data fow and what are the data targets to be used and how data shld be stored for providing the client a solution they need.

IPod HiFi - What dock connector do I use for a 80GB (5th Generation) ipod??

Hi,
Just got a new shinny ipod HiFi, however what dock connector can I use for an 80GB (5thG) as the connectors only go up to 60GB??? Or does the ipod come with a dock connector? Can anyone point me in the right direction, pretty please.
Any suggestions would be great help.

You mean the dock adapter, right? The little plastic piece with a slot?
Use the one for the 60GB.
The only thing they do is make the iPods it correctly in the dock.
The dock connector is the slot on the bottom of the iPod.
