What to do when clicking on photos only minimizes the screen?

I downloaded lots of photos yesterday (300+) and now I can't work with the application. When I click on any photo, or any folder, or anything in iPhoto, the whole page simply moves off the screen. I can bring it back up but still can't get anything open. The program will not even close when I click on the red button. It just moves back and forth from my desktop to never-neverland. What have I done?

It sounds like you're caught in one of those view tricks in OS X that allows you to see all windows or somesuch.
Try restart your mac.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
* "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
* "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). (On iPhoto 11 this option is under the File -> Reveal in Finder.) Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/ Library/ Caches...
5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help: As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'

It seems that the solution works for most people.
In a terminal, enter the following:
defaults write com.microsoft.Excel NSQuitAlwaysKeepsWindows -bool false

It looks like the card may be the problem, and your best bet is to try the Card Reader - this will make the card accessible by the Finder and you may be able to drag the pics off to the desktop or, at worst, try recover the pics with an app like MediaRecover

BB Locks up when I transfer photo images to the Micro SD Card

Any one have any idea why my 8330 with 1GB micro SD card locks up when I transfer photo images to the card?
They are 1.25 MB JPG files. I tried transferring to the card directly and transferring to the card via Roxio. Roxio asked if I want to convert.... I agreed to convert the files, but the BB still locks up. I only had this BB for about 5 days and I have already found several thing I really don't like. This is the top of the list, second is streaming music won't use Stereo Bluetooth headphones and the Navigation App won't use headphones at all and the GPS App, doesn't work consistently in a vehicle (what's up with that, where else would I want to use it?).

I would put my money on the memory card being defective. The fact that you verified that the one file that the device
(regurgitated) was not corrupt. If you transferred it from the PC DIRECTLY to the media card as you say,
the Blackberry wasn't involved except as a port.
Try this; remove the media card put it on the reader and load the images. If the same this happens it's not related to the Blackberry as it isn't even in the equation.
I would try reformatting the card, and making sure the following options are set on your BB.
Go to OPTIONS _MEDIA CARD_ enable all options except for ENCRYPTION MODE make sure that is none.
Verify that the total space shown on the bottom of the screen reflects the amount of memory on the media card,
Allowing for formatting space) ex. On my 8gb card I shoe 7.6gb available.
If the problem reoccurs it would make sense it's the media card.
Can't have to much practice at field stripping your device right? (USAR 70 )

What's the plist file?
For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

Have you tried deleting the photo cache from your computer and then re-trying the photo sync and see if they all then copy over (you need to select and sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go, as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad) ? Don't know about the Facebook photo emailing, but there are a number of apps that allow to upload photos to their site (e.g. the 'official' Facebook app).
(For future info, typing all in capitals is considered SHOUTING - you are more likely to get help/responses if you don't.)

I also have this problem. The Number two shows up in the App Store screen. I go to purchases and there are no apps that require updating. The number two in the App Store still remains on my screen. Has anybody found the solution yet? I called Apple, Only to be told that I should back up to iTunes on the computer, and then restore my iPad from the computer to eliminate the number two on the App Store screen. Hi Terence, When I am uploading photos from a memory card,not all of the photos show up on I photo as a photo image, but show up as a dotted square line. For example, I just added 12 photo from two days. The first day had 5 photos, but only 4 show up as images, then there is 1 as dotted a square. The next day, there 7 images, with only 4 showing up as photos, and three as the dotted squares.
I am using I photo 11, 9.1.1.

I have recently updated to iPhoto 9.2.1, more by accident I guess. In the older version off iPhoto when I imported photos and gave the event his own name, this name was also used in the "masterfile"

In the older version of iPhoto when I imported photos and gave the event his own name (for exampample "110723 birthday son 2011"), this name was also used in the "masterfile", so I could find the file by his name ("110723 birthday son 2011") in the "masterfile" on my HD and copy and paste it from there to other computers.
In the new version the file gets stored under a seemingly random number, which does not give me any information about the content.
Is there a way to fix this? Would it be different in apperture?

I have Iphoto '09, version 8.1.2 (424). I am having an identical problem. All my pictures are imported into Iphoto when I downloaded them from my camera. Until recently, I thought that the pictures were actually saved in the library. Since I need to crop my pictures for the web, and Iphoto doesn't do that, I purchased Photoshop Elements to do that. To my surprise, when I try to get a picture from Iphoto to Photoshop, it can't be done. That was when I realized, after wasting a lot of time, that the photos are not in the Iphoto library.
I started naming the pictures on Iphoto so I had a recognizable file name to open on Photoshop. Couldn't find it. I looked in the Backup folder and the Transfer software folder (I have a Nikon camera), and the names I entered in the Iphoto display, could not be found.
When I am trying to upload a photo to the web, I get the Finder folder showing with an active folder called "Photos" under "Media", which only displays Iphoto and PhotoBooth. This is a folder name that I cannot find in my HD anywhere when I look for it. If I edit a picture with Photoshop, I am not going to save it back to Iphoto (not sure whether it will work properly). How do I get my folder of edited photos to show when I want to upload a picture to the web?

The front camera displays a reversed image on the screen, as if you were looking into a mirror. When you take a picture, it comes out normal, which is backwards to what you would have observed on the screen.

My keypad keeps disappearing when using google -- but only in the horizontal position. In vertical, it works fine. I have powered off and on, checked that Safari Instant is on, and cleared Safari cache. Any help will be appreciated.

Okay -- it fixed itself. Without any intervention, after all else had failed, and I was willing to live evermore with vertical searches. If only everything else in my house mysteriously recovered from the broken state.
Have no idea what was/is going on with the disappearing keypad.
