Windows XPjqs is the Java Quick Starter. If you disable it the issue should be resolved. For details of how to do that see http://www.java.com/en/download/help/quickstarter.xml
Also check Firefox add-ons and disable the Java QuickStart add-on. In the menu select Tools, then Add-ons to open the add-ons manager. Go to the Extensions panel, click on the Java QuickStart add-on to select it, then click on the Disable button. -

I have Mac 1.83GHz Core Duo 2GBramHi,
Please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below:
Solution 1:
1. Close Elements.
2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down Cmnd+ alt + shift as you click Editor.
3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
Now launch PSE and check if it works. -
I get an unresponsive script error message asking me if I would like to end script now.
Script:chrome//wrc/content/overlay.js:1149
Firefox freezes and I have to end the program in task manager. Please help! The name "wrc" mentioned in the chrome URL is usually a hint to which extension is causing such an issue.<br />
You didn't list the extensions, so madperson wasn't able to give more precise instructions.
If it does work in Firefox Safe-mode then disable all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

I have tried reinstalling but still get the same problem. This issue is caused by an AVG add-on (tavgp) that isn't working properly.

When accessing my inbox, Thunderbird slows down so much it is almost unuseable. I keep getting a pop up window telling me that the script: chrome://messenger/content/mailWindow.js:180 is taking a long time to complete, and would I like to stop it. If I do stop it, Thunderbird sometime speeds up for a minute or so and then the problem starts again.

This unresponsive script message appears when I click on FF icon to open FF. I have tried both answers ('Continue' OR 'Stop Script') as well as simply closing the error box without selecting either option. After responding or closing the error box, I am able to open FF browser. However this happens each time I try to open FF or change sites. I use Moz's NoScript 2.0.51. I tried updating the plugin and Mozilla said 'Plugin Finding Service Error We've encountered an error. Please try your request again later. Grateful for any help...

Every time Firefox openedDo a malware check with a few malware scan programs.
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database.

I have to click on "Stop unresponsive script" to get Firefox to load, and then have to disable BetterPrivacy in order to use Ff normally. I haven't changed Ff or BetterPrivacy lately, to the best of my knowledge, but I can't use the BP add-on any longer.
Just in case, I also deleted my Chrome browser, which I had as a stand-by, but it didn't help. I still get "A script on this page is unresponsive: Script: chrome//bp/content/bp.js:847". Any ideas?
I'm not certain which version of BP I had when this problem started, but today I tried adding the latest version, 1.49, but still had same trouble.
Your "educated guess" is correct - Ff 3.616 and Vista.I turned off the accelrator months ago. That was the first thing I did. It helped some. The problem is getting progressively worse, so it seems like every upgrade in the past 3-4 months is causing the problem.

The only way to move on is to access the jobmenu and close it manually, then restart the computer. If I stop using the web for a while, the problem reoccurs.

I am running Facebook and leaving it on..when I come back to it or sometimes when i am using it i get this Unresponsive Script Error - Script: chrome://greasemonkey/content/prefmanager.js:55. If i click continue or stop it will go away but many times the page is frozen so i have to restart Firefox. I am not using Chrome so i am surprised about that part of the error. I have read the other posting and have tried to change the time under config......can't remember the rest and it has not worked. Please advise what else i can do.
In Firefox the use of the term chrome refers to the user interface and other elements that are not part of the web pages.
See https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Chrome
Your problems seems to be caused by the GreaseMonkey extension.<br />

When I "clear recent history" it hangs and "script:chrome://browser/content/sanitize.js:136" comes up and I have to stop the script to continue. This started within the last week.
On Windows, the file path is:
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\%PROFILENAME%\downloads.sqlite
I renamed the file, but it did not work.
What I did was uncheck all of the checkboxes in "Clear Recent History..."
By one checkbox at a time, I cleared each item.
When I reached the "Cookies" item, I got the unresponsive script/JavaScript error, so I left that unchecked and cleared the rest of the items.
After I cleared everything else, I returned to the "Cookies" item, and I was able to clear it now.
