I have the same problem. No explanation. what bugware this is. I cannot shut down iCloud because it threatens: if you stop using icloud for calendars, calendars stored in icloud  will be deleted from this Mac.

    Previous it worked fine.
    Changing from my exchange agenda to one of my mac agenda's works fine.
    Changing my mac agenda to a shared agenda is not working, however from my exchange to my shared agenda (read and write) is possible.
    I already deleted my mac account, but still no solution.
    Can anybody help me?

    Yes, I just get that message. I don't see how I could investigate this problem.
    I didn't mention that this happened when I was consolidating my library, not copying files to another computer.
    In other words, I'm using a "normal" itunes procedure, itunes won't complete it, and won't tell me exactly why or how to figure out how to fix it...
    Is there at least some easy way to tell which files were successfully copied to my itunes music folder so I can work on moving the uncopied files?
    Can anybody help me?

    You can create an Apple ID without a credit card by following this guide exactly: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534.  Note that you have to start by downloading a free app, then create the ID.

    In iTunes go File -> Library -> Organise Library -> Reorganise Library.
    Then quit and restart iPhoto.

    actually i found out how to fix it
    1 sign out of apple account
    2 close down passbook app
    3 change year to 2013
    4 reopen passbook and sign in at the button with your apple ID
    5 change the time to auto update and it should work from now on.

    The next time the problem happens, note the date and time the problem occurred, then go to Applications/Utilities/Console and copy the log starting at the time of the crash. Paste the log in a reply. Please do not use a screen shot as they can be hard to read. If there are repeated runs of the same messages, please post only one run. Be selective about what you post and don’t  post huge amounts. Make sure there is no personal data visible. Information learned from Linc Davis.

  • How to check if home directories are disabled & what else could cause this problem?

    We're having this issue with our server where some clients are having an extended authorization time to log onto our server, whether they attempt to do so via VPN or on our Network directly. This issue only seems to persist for some users and happens every time they attempt to log on. Log on can take up to 10 minutes, however, rarely ever fails.
    I was told to check size of the home directories but the other IT here said he's pretty sure he disabled the home directory things. The only reason we have these servers is so that people can dump files on them for later use or to transfer between eachother for whichever project they may be working on. How do I check whether the home directories are enabled or not, and if they are, where can I determine their size? All I am seeing in the filesystem is the login for the Admin account and the other IT's account on the server.
    What else could be causing this problem? It is not a machine-based problem as I can log into the server using their machine almost instantaneously. About half of our users are logged on instantly as well. We've been getting complaints about this for about a couple months now. It didn't seem to happen prior to February (though I can't say for sure because I started here at the end of January).
    The server is an Xserve running 10.5.x or 10.6.x (two different servers). Computers being used range from Mac OS 10.7-10.9.2. I don't believe anyone uses windows that is having an issue.

    What you need is the dba_policies
    select OBJECT_NAME, POLICY_NAME, ENABLE from dba_policies;

  • I can import some songs from another computer but not others.  All the songs were purchased with the same apple id. Message says "...check connection to network..." Any ideas as to what could be causing this problem?

    Using home share, I can import some songs from my son's  computer but not others.  All the songs were purchased with the same apple id.  Err msg:"There was a problem downloading ... You do not have enouggh access privileges for this operation. Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again."  The network appears to be fine .  I can import other songs from his library.  The same songs cause me a problem each time I try.  My husband had no trouble importing the same songs I have trouble with. I get the same error message if I try to import the same songs from my husbands computer as well.  "Command I" appears to show the same protections on both the songs I can import & the ones I cannot.  My husband and son are both running OS 10.6, while I am running 10.7.  I think I had this problem even before I upgraded, but I am not certain.

    My first suggestion is to Repair Disk. Here's how:
    Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key.
    Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
    Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
    Select First Aid in the Main panel.
    (Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report)
    Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
    If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
    If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
    If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need to use a utility like Tech Tool Pro or Disk Warrior
    Please post back and let me know how that goes.

    The value was 10 and I just increased it to 12That seems to be an extremely high value. I would guess that your I/O system f or the redo log and archivelogs cannot keep up with the rate of redo generation.
    You may have addressed a symptom, not a cause.
    Is the cause :
    a. Very (unnecessarily) high redo rates ?
    b. Slow I/O (with a warning about log write time being logged) ?

    To download/install an app directly to the iPod you need available storage equal to about three times the file download size. Syncing the app to the iPod requires a lot less. Thus you either have to free up more storage or sync the app from your computer.
