I bought a full album in the iTunes store, but there is 1 song that keeps asking for my username & password, and even when i put in the credidentials the song doesn't play.
I allready de-autorised my mac en autorised it again but no progres

Try this: delete the problem track from the iTunes library, allowing iTunes to move the track file to the Trash. Then download the track again from the iTunes Store via this procedure:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
That fixes the problem for many people. If problems with the track persists, go here:
iTunes Support
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

One song in a complete album that won't play, all others play, but this one says that it's not authorized to play on my computer and to enter password for apple id, which when done, says it is authorized to play on this computer and 2 others, but still won't play? What gives?

    Hello there, c_costa.
The following Knowledge Base article provides some great steps for troubleshooting issues for repeated prompts for authorization from iTunes:

Alternatively, if you are sure the same Apple ID purchased the content that's not playing, you can delete the song from your Mac and then download it again from your purchases:

  • How do I delete unauthorized songs that won't play in iTunes?

I recently just downloaded all of my purchases I've made from my iphone, onto my itunes on my macbook.
I've also noticed there are songs that are in dull grey writing (not the solid black) so when I click on them nothing happens, I can't delete or play them at all. So I clicked "get info" and under summary it says it's not available.
It lists the song name, and album, and size, and whatnot.
Except I can't do anything with it. I have duplicates of the song too, one which works (solid black, clickable, etc) and then one that doesn't do anything (grey font, can't click, can't play, can't delete, etc)
How do I get rid of the songs/information that aren't working???

    Hi Allan ..
From your iTunes library, right or control click the song then click Delete.
Apple's policy states that, "all sales are final" >>  iTUNES STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • TS1424 Downloaded a song that won't play

I've downloaded 20 songs in one day. 5 of the songs will only play for 20 seconds before there is either silence or it automatically goes on to the next song. What is goin on?!!

Other people have been having similar problems with songs over a number of days.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting those incomplete tracks from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

  • When i go to play a recently downloaded song, it won't play. It just goes back to the artist's songlist. What do i do?

    What do i do?

    - Try a reset. Nothing is lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Delete the song and redownload it by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Duplicate songs that won't play?

I downloaded 4 songs today; 3 of them came with duplicates (on the ipod only, there are no duplicates on itunes) and neither copy of those duplicates will play. For a while after I bought the songs none of my music would play, but after I reset it all of the songs will play except the three I bought today that have the duplicates. My itunes is fine - only one copy of each song, and they will pla with no problem. I have reset my iPod, updates iTunes, and the problem is still there. Anybody know what I could do?

Okay so now sometimes the songs will play, it will start really long time after I've tried to get it to play and there is no way to pause it other than to shut off the ipod.
Also, it won't let me delete the duplicate songs on my ipod with the swipe either.

  • I just bought 2 songs that won't play to completion???

I just bought the whole CD lowcountry by Envy on the Coast, and 2 of the songs will play for about a minute then just skip to the next song. They don't play to completion. I tried skipping to later in the songs, but as soon as I click, it does the same thing and skips to the next song. What should I do?

The iTunes store finally responded to my e-mail. They had to reinstate an old id for me manually so that I could authorize the computer to play those songs. The id they reinstated is does not match the one the songs are tagged with under get info for that song, but at least they play again. I could not get them to make them play under my current id, they had to use an old one. I really do not understand why they had to use an old one that does not match the songs id and could not use my new one which doesn't match either. They must have some way of linking different id's together if they want to. Obviously since I am playing songs with an id that my computer is not authorized for.

  • TS1389 None of these resolutions solved my problem. Now what? It is only one song that it won't play.

None of the resolutions suggested by Apple solved my problem. It is only one song that won't play.

Delete and redownload it if doing so is free in your country.

  • I received an ipod touch 5th gen for Christmas.  The first songs i've downloaded and synced with my touch have created ghost songs.  They are only on my computer in itunes once but appear on my ipod twice, one copy that won't play.  I can't delete them

The first songs i've downloaded and synced with my new touch have created ghost songs.  They are only on my computer in itunes once but appear on my ipod twice, one copy that won't play.  I can't delete them.  I've tried unticking all the music that was on the ipod via itunes and re-syncing, which in theory should delete all music from my ipod.  It does except for the 5 ghost songs.   So at present I have no music on ipod except the 5 ghost songs.   Has anyone got any ideas how I can get rid of these?
I had no problems with my ipod touch 4th, which I had for years.   Any help would be great.

I know, I always do that but I was in a rush to get somewhere and I was relying on my thousand dollar Mac to do some kind of recovery or something. I know Microsoft always keeps temporary files (I think Mac does too, part of me asking here in this forum was for someone to tell me where I can find those files) and when you go to open Office Works then it gives you the option of opening the last recent documents, saved or not saved.
I usually copy paste into my emial just in case something goes wrong with the created document but I just didn't have the time to login and do all that My loss, you live and you learn, BUT still if ANYONE got any info on this, PLEASE DO CHIME IN *keeping the hope alive*

If you're running iTunes 11 and you don't see the menus, press Control-B or go to the small icon with the arrow at the extreme upper left and select "Show Menu Bar":
Apple for some inexplicable reason elected to hide the menus by default in the Windows version of iTunes 11.
I doubt that this will address a download problem, though. You'll need to provide more details about that; what device you're attempting the download on, the exact error message, and other such pertinent information.
    Regards.

I'm trying to download songs that was transferred via Carbonite, not getting message that states "Unable to check for available downloads, iTunes is temporally unavailable".  What do I do?  Any suggestions??

Same problem, I have a season pass for Mad Men and suddenly cannot download, says iTunes is temporarily unavailable. Problem occurred before I updated to the new iTunes and afterwards, on two different computers. Here is what Apple had to say:
"I have verified that the iTunes Store is functioning and accepting connections, which indicates that the issue is related to your internet connection, local network, or your local computer itself. This article outlines some of the likely culprits:

I agree. I don't rely on iCloud as a backup, that is what I have my portable hard drive for. Its 500 GB so I can hold my entire iTunes library several times over on it. I have all my movies on my hard drive, but somehow "The Mist" got deleted off of my hard drive, so I figured "Well, the option to redownload an already purchased movie is available through iCloud, I'll just do that!"
And permissions and download availability have nothing to do with it, the movie's still there, it still allows me to redownload it. The only problem is when I click download, I get that message.
And nobody else uses my computer, but I do have multiple accounts authorized on it. Even still though, I am attepmpting to download it through the account I purchased it under. :/

I downloaded songs that now will not play completely on my touch.  There were no error messages, and I see them fine on my touch.  They get to a certain point in the song and jump to the next song.

Do they play ok on your computer's iTunes ? If they do then try deleting them from your iPod and then re-sync them back to it.
If they also don't play on your computer's iTunes, then depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the incomplete tracks from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
