What to do with duplicate association

Hi All,
Working with Jdev11.1.1.16..
As a new with jdev i am little bit confused with association get created when i Synchronize Eo's
currently I am working with HR schema
1. I create two EO's (DepartmentsEO,EmployeesEO) same time three association and viewlinks get created which is understandable
2. Added new column to Employee table
3.Try to synchronize employee EO
4.I found under association package three new associations got created .
My doubt is about newly created association there is no difference between old association and new one except
instead of DeptMgrFkAssoc it will be DeptMgrFkAssoc1
Can i keep all the association files or do i delete previously created one by doing some changes in viewliks bec i found they are references.
Thanks

Thanks Timo
1) Remove the duplicate associations (always remove the lowest number!)
Since View Links refers the association we either need to change the relevant association's  in all the view links Or delete the older associations and rename with new ones with the name  as older ones
2) Put the associations in the same directory as the entity objects are in
Even though we maintain in same Folder it will generate the Duplicate Associations .
Can’t we just delete all old associations/EO's and recreate new whenever we are doing sync ? and DB changes are bulk and unable to trace modified associations ?

  • What to do with duplicates on my computer?

I'm copying lots of folders of images from one computer to another and lots of these folders have duplicate images inside them, so when I import the new folders those duplicates do not come in. This keeps my Lightroom Catalog nice and neat, however, I now have all of these duplicates taking up space on my computer. Just curious how you deal with this? Do you just leave them alone and pretend that they are not there or do you remove them?
    Thanks.

    I would do this:
    1.  Get everything into the catalog except for the duplicates.
    2.  Duplicate the catalog and previews - this will be the main working catalog that you'll come back to in a mo..
    3.  Turn off 'don't import suspected duplicates' and import them all in one go.  That should populate the Previous Import collection with loads of photos that you know are duplicates.
    4.  Select all of those duplicates and drag them to a folder called 'Duplicates'.
    5.  Back that folder up to a DVD or something just in case you missed something, then delete it from the hard drive.
    6.  Delete the temporary catalog you've just been using and go back to your previous one.

I have two AppleIDs and I have tried to use both of them. I have logged out of one and into the in the settings app/iTunes and game center, but I still get the dame message with both IDs. I do not know what ID it could be associated with. The inly device I have installed this game on is this iPhone. I do not want to uninstall and reinstall the game because I am afraid I will lose all of my progress. Is there away to have the game associated woth my AppleID without losing all of my progress?

  • I recently converted to PSE13 from 11 and noticed what appear to be duplicate files.

I recently converted to PSE13 from 11 and noticed what appear to be duplicate files named: BreezeData, CAXMPFiles, Style, syncdb, and WaldoData.  Can these be deleted?  Do they belong to the previous version 11?  If they do, then I may not want to delete them if I ever have to run PSE11 again.

What you are seeing are default subfolders within your catalog folders. Don't mess with the contents of the catalog folders, they don't contain any of your picture files, only the databases and their associated assets. You'll find such subfolders in any of your catalog folders whatever their version (11 or 13). They are not duplicates.
You should keep the PSE11 catalogs if you want to use them with PSE11 (you can keep both versions on your computer). Of course, you can delete the catalogs you no longer want to use. Simply use the catalog manager (menu File/catalogs...) and use the delete button; the catalog to delete should not be the active catalog, select another one first. Deleting catalogs this way will delete the subfolders you are seeing, like BreezeData etc.

  • MY system folder, including hidden folders are littered with duplicate folders and files with the suffix (from old Mac) How do I remove them

I have a Macbook Pro running Leopard 10.5.8. I had a problem with my my operating system (my fault, I moved a file I shoudnt have) couldnt boot up but was able to boot up from a backup. I managed to repair my original system except now all the system folders, including hidden folders are littered with duplicate folders and files with the suffix (from old Mac).  For the most part the dupes are an exact copy, but not always.  I want to remove them to free up space and cant imagine duplicate folders in the /system/library are not hindering my computer. But I dont know where to start and am afraid of doing irreparable damage. Any ideas

  • Totally at a loss with Duplicates/Triplicates in iCloud on all devices

OK - first, I am not an Apple novice and know my equipment backwards and forwards....but this one has me totally stumped and wondering if anyone has any ideas...
Second -- I have never used MobileMe, so this is not a migration problem....
Third - sync in iTunes is unchecked so I won't get duplicates
So, setting up iCloud -- iPad, iPhone and on my Macbook Pro -- following the instructions exactly one step at a time as given in APple's own instructions...
Sync 1 with iPhone creates duplicates in iCal, Reminders, Address Book on both Mac and iPhone
Sync 2 with iPad creates duplicates in iCal, Reminders, Address Book on Mac, Iphone, and iPad -
Results in duplicates and triplicates in all of them
The only thing not effected is Notes -- which don't seem to sync at all now with iCloud...
Now, to trouble shoot - I've gone through all the steps suggested by others here, and all it does is recreate the problem when iCloud sync is initiated again...
I have even gone to icloud.com and deleted everything there to assure that isn't corrupted.
I closed iCloud on all devices and selected "delete" from the sync options.
I deleted all calendars, reminders, notes, Address books from all the devices.
I restored the calendars, reminders, notes, Address books from TIme machine from earlier in the week - about as accurate as I can get right now with all the messed up iCloud syncs...
Re-establish sync with iCloud and EVERY SINGLE problem with duplicates and triplicates is back...
    What the --
Anyone have any ideas at all?  I'm going to go talk to the Genius Bar on Saturday (no appointments tomorrow on iPhone launch day), but I'm not hopeful they know more than I do about these things -- so I am turning to the experts here...
AFter spending about 14 hours syncing resyncing restoring resyncing etc. I am not back to a clean tethered-through-iTunes sync, and have found iCloud to be 100% worthless....

Thanks MaxGuru, but that absolutely did NOT do it. That was one of the first things I tried.
OK -- so, I have returend from a TWO HOUR Genius Bar appointment and here is what we figured out: there was NOTHING that could be fixed to prevent the duplicates, not matter which solutions we tired (all those mentioned in the forum, and elsewhere).
What did we do?....First, I have always backed everything up, so I had backups to play with. Make sure you back up everything before you try anything else I mention here (i.e. do an export for iCal, Address Book etc. -- I worked from fresh copies from my Time machine backup from Monday before all this mess started to assure it was as clean as possible.)  I put those on my desktop for the time being so we can access them quickly and easily.
Step 1: delete all calendars, address book, reminders, notes from desktop, iPhone, iPad, and iCloud.com (yes, delete it all).
Step 2: put a clean copy of all that data back on your Mac (or PC) from your backup.
Step 3: In iCloud, turn off all calendars that they create that you are not using (work, home, calendar for example are calendars iCloud creates that I have never used since I have created my own and named them MyLastName, Holidays, etc).
Step 3: Turn iCloud off everywhere: on your iPHone, on your Mac, and on your iPad. Make sure you turn off every single feature, not just calendar. Totally turn everything off. LOG OUT OF ICLOUD.COM, DELETE iCloud account on your iPad, DELETE Icloud account on your iPhone.
Step 4: Restore your calendar, notes, address book on your Mac from backup (do not restore reminders - those are gone, never use old ones again, you'll create new down the road -- it just will not sync no matter what from an old copy at this point)
Step 4: Hard-wire sync your iPad and your Mac through iTunes. You'll have to turn on all the sync features. DO NOT sync your iPhone (unless it will be the only thing you sync with your iCloud and mac). Go back into the Info tab and after syncing turn off all the sync features you turned on (contacts, calendars, etc)
    Step 5: Disconnect from iTunes
Step 6. Log back into iCloud.com on your Mac. Leave it be.
Step 6B - and this is important: On both your iPad and your iPhone, turn off all calendars that are not yours as per above.
Step 7. Log back into iCLoud on your iPad.  Your iPAD will become your primary sync source. Now go ahead and one at a time turn on the address book (wait a bit, check icloud.com on your Mac to make sure it was connected properly). Then turn on the calendar (wait a bit -- depending on how big your calendar is, it might take 5-10 minutes for it to all upload to iCloud from the iPad). Check iCloud to make sure it is there. Same thing with all the other features -- one at a time from the iPad first.
Step 7. From your Mac, go to Preferences>iCloud> and turn on one feature at a time. It should now be okay without any duplicates being introduced. Give it a few minutes to make sure everything remains stable.
Step 8. Now connect your iPhone to iCloud-- be aware this might cause duplicates on your iPhone -- not to worry, there is a way to fix that. Add one feature at a time as you recreate your iCloud account on your iPhone. Start with Address, then then others...
Step 9. Check your iPhone calendar. You might have duplicates on your iPhone. That is okay. DO NOT do any further sync at this time. If you only have one copy of your calendars on your iPhone, you are good to go, and your iCloud connection should now be stable.  Step 9B -- If you have duplicates on the iPhone, go to iCloud settings on your iPhone, and uncheck Calendars. When it says delete all on this iPhone, select yes. Wait a moment. Turn your iPhone back on. It should within a few moments push one single copy of the calendar to your iPhone. Now your are good to go.
Why this is such a hassle, is anybody's guess. We literally had two Geniuses at my local Apple Store working on this with me, and we had Apple's Tech Support on the phone the entire time through the process.  When it takes about 7 people to correct a simple iCloud tech problem, you know there is something seriously amiss and there will be a lot of problems with people using iCloud for the smartphone features rather than the entertainment features down the road.
Anyway -- hopefull this might work for some of you. If not, good luck in finding your solution.
The overall answer seemed to have been to a) completely delete all old data and backup clean copies, and b) use the iPad DEVICE as your primary inital iCloud sync source. How backward is that, when your desktop/laptop should always be one's primary source.

  • How is the best way to deal with duplicate photos

    I am using a new retina 27" iMac 16gb ram OS X 10.10.1
    Aperture 3.6
What is the best way to deal with duplicates that get in Aperture Vaults
I have used Gemini and it finds duplicates, but I have no way of telling if the original are still there.
I don't want to go through 15000 photos to try to find the duplicate.
    Thanks Charlie

You mean - one image in a vault, one in a library?  Or duplicates in the same library?
Photo Sweeper can scan several libraries or folders at the same time and display the duplicates side by side to let you pick which to keep.  You can define rules to mark photos for automatic deletion as well.

  • Why is Apple so bad at providing customers with information on what the problem with email is and what they are doing to fix it?

Why is apple not providing information on what the problem withe email is and what they are doing to fix, along with a time frame for fixing the problem.

It was because the problem was major.  If you do not know tech, you should know that a two day outage usually indicates some type of virus, hack, or a bad software load that they had to unravel.  The common way to solve that is to rebuild servers and put back into service.  That takes time.
Apple did not want to admit this problem.  My guess at this stange was that they loaded new software that might be associated with the new IOS and it crashed.  To reveal this would be to cast into doubt their future revenue.
Either way.  Run do not walk away from Icloud products and services.  Apple has demonstrated they can not be a business partner.

Part of this is also merely "informational". When you first prime an account it
will almost ALWAYS complain about high usage of attachments, time lags, and
such. I generally do not worry about it unless these errors persist. And they
will stay on the screen until you clear them. So are these errors "current", or
    historical at this point?

  • What to do with iPhoto after installing and migrating to Photos?

I'm basically trying to understand what goes on with the pictures after migrating to the new Photos app:
After migrating to Photos I tried to open iPhoto which warns me that changes will not be visible in Photos. Fine, but will changes still be present in iPhoto? There are some pictures in the trash bin, which I guess will stay until I remove them from there?
I see both an iPhoto and Photos library among in my Pictures folder, about the same size. From the total disk space I do not think they are duplicates. How does it work?
Can iPhoto be removed, removing all traces, with no adverse effects on my photo library?
Another related issue that I haven't figured out: I heard that when editing in iPhoto the application would create a new image and save it on disk, while e.g. LightRoom would just store the edit information? Is it true, and how is it done in Photos?

I see both an iPhoto and Photos library among in my Pictures folder, about the same size. From the total disk space I do not think they are duplicates. How does it work?
iPhoto and Photos are sharing the image files using hard links. The photos are only once on your disk, see:
Photos saves disk space by sharing images with your iPhoto or Aperture libraries - Apple Support
After migrating to Photos I tried to open iPhoto which warns me that changes will not be visible in Photos. Fine, but will changes still be present in iPhoto? There are some pictures in the trash bin, which I guess will stay until I remove them from there?
The changes will stay applied in the iPhoto Library, yes. And empty the iPhoto Trash, if you want the trash deleted.
Can iPhoto be removed, removing all traces, with no adverse effects on my photo library?
It could, but I would wait a bit, before take this step. Check your photos library thoroughly, before you delete if.
If you should discover later, that the migration of your libraries has been faulty and you need to repeat it after repairing your libraries, you will be out of luck.
Remember, it is is just a few days after the first release of Photos as version 1.0.  There are very likely some bugs and I would not burn all bridges before the library has been thoroughly tested and you are very confident, that this early Photos release is working well on your Mac.
Another related issue that I haven't figured out: I heard that when editing in iPhoto the application would create a new image and save it on disk, while e.g. LightRoom would just store the edit information? Is it true, and how is it done in Photos?
iPhoto and Photos have a lossless workflow like Lightroom. They store the sequence of edits, and create only a preview image of the edited version.  When you add further edits, all edits will be applied starting from the original image, and all edits can be removed and the photo reverted to the original.  With Photos this works also with iCloud Photo Library across all your devices. Edit a photo on your Mac and change the edits on our iPhone.

  • Photo Library with duplicate pictures

I need help with the photo sync function. When syncing photos from my computer to my phone (via iTunes), a folder called Photo Library is automatically created on my phone, containing duplicate pictures of every picture being transferred.
To be specific and very clear, I have the Camera Roll on my phone. I have two folders on my computer with pictures which I want to add to my phone. These folders are titled "Miami beach trip" and "Hollywood trip" and contain 50 pics and 30 pics, respectively.
When I tried to sync the photos using iTunes, I ended up with 3 folders on my iPhone, in addition to the Camera Roll. I ended up with the Miami beach trip with 50 pics, hollywood trip with 30 pics, and a Photo Library folder with 80 pics (duplicates of all pics from Miami trip and hollywood trip).
Is there a way to sync so that I don't end up with duplicates? I tried deleting the iPhone Photo Cache folder before syncing and that did not work. Please help.

So this is normal? Is there a way to NOT have the Photo Library folder? It is pretty redundant and I would prefer to NOT have the same pics appear in more than 1 folder.
When I first realized that the Photo Library folder automatically appeared with the same exact photos from other folders, I became quite frustrated. I started messing around with the sync function. I would delete the iphone photo cache, then sync. Then I removed the folders that I had just added. Then I synced again. I did this quite a few times and somehow, I finally was able to add a folder without the Photo library containing all the pictures.
It was a fluke and I don't even know what I exactly did. I can't get it to work this time around but am convinced that there should be a way to do it.
Do you know how? Thank you for your time and help.

    Edwin,
I have tried the same thing that you describe in question one in the attached VI. If you change the data ranges and then run the VI, you will note that the numeric value will only ba allowed in the new range. (If the current value is outside of the range that you have set, then you will need to change the value of the cotrol to be in the new range before the new range properties will take effect.)
As for your second question, can you expand upon this? I am not sure that I understand what you mean. Is an example VI possible? Thanks

What's the best duplicates finder application for Mac OS X?

Thank you both!  I ended up going for DupeGuru because it was free and it worked well.   Easy Duplicate Finder baited me with the promise of free download then when the search was over I got the "buy the software" if I wanted to delete more than 10 files.
DupeGuru worked well and so far I have not been asked for money.

Either change it to without warning / warning only When duplicated customer reference no. occurs.
Modify customer reference number by including dot at end.

yes, you're trying to do exactly what you should be doing, so now it's time to get to your original problem.
perhaps you can explain in detail what you do, and exactly what happens/what you see/what doesn't work.
i finally had a chance to get on a 10.9 machine and tried duplicating a track in GBv10, it worked exactly as expected here; recreating the effect settings i had, and allowing me to change them as desired
