What To Do With Temp_Zip Files in CF7 Root?

This question is similar to an earlier question about whether
you're supposed to have a c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\cfdocs folder, after
installing CFMX 7. I currently don't have one, but I found in my
C:\CFusionMX7 folder, another folder called: TEMP_ZIP. In it are 9
ZIP files, one of which is called GETTINGSTARTED.ZIP. Those files
show they belong in the Inetpub\wwwroot\cfide\gettingstarted folder
and they WERE extracted/copied there during my recent CF7 install.
However, therae are many other files in the TEMP_ZIP folder
that appear to belong in a Inetpub\wwwroot\cfdocs folder. Since the
install program didn't extract/copy these, should I go ahead an
manually extract them there myself? Is this what you're supposed to
do, or is the CF7 install program supposed to do this?
Just want to make sure it's OK to 1. First have a CFDOCS
folder in the Inetpub\wwwroot, and 2. To manually extract these
files? Or is there some other process to take care of this besides
"unzipping" them manually myself? And 3. IF it's even a good idea
to go ahead and extract these files. Not even sure how they're
accessed unless it's for some training lessons or something. FYI,
this is for a DEVELOPMENT server, not production. Thank you.

This morning, I am unable to log in to Hotmail. The homepage appears normally, but after I enter my email address and password and click to submit them, a window pops us asking me what to do with the file "default.aspx." I have a Vista machine, and last night my computer automatically installed a ton of Microsoft updates. In fact, the update list shows that one of the updates failed to install. At the end of this message, I have pasted the details of the failed update. I have checked the Hotmail support forum, and someone else posted that the have experienced the same problem this morning. The Microsoft "expert" asked him or her to contact Mozilla for support for this issue. Thanks in advance for whatever help you can provide, although I highly suspect that this is a problem on the Microsoft/Hotmail end, not yours.

  • Firefox repeatedly asks me what to do with PDF files, even after I tell it to use Adobe Reader to open them.

For some reason, Firefox repeatedly asks me what to do with certain PDF files (but not all) even after I have indicated that I want it to use Adobe Reader X to open them and checked the "always use this application" box. I have gone through all of the troubleshooting steps on the Firefox support website to no avail. However, unlike what is shown in the troubleshooting section, when I go into Tools/Applications/Preferences, I do not see a listing for "Adobe Acrobat Document." Instead, there is a listing for "pdf file," which opens with "Adobe Reader"--no "(default)" or "(in Firefox)" appended.

  • What to do with CER file?

    Hello all.
This is my first time working with security in Java and I am completely lost.
    Here is my situation:
    1) I have a P12 file given to me by a vendor
    2) I imported the P12 file into InternetExplorer
    3) I exported the certificate from IE to a DER "cer" file
    4) I use KeyTool to import it.
No matter what I do I do not seem to be able to get this to work....
Where I am confused especially, is what to do with the CER file that I got from the vendor. I thought once I exported it I could import it in using the keytool but that doesn't see to work.
I'm basically lost and need some direction. Any help or pointers would be appreciated.
BTW: Please excuse the code i keep trying different things.

  • Dowloading applications - what to do with the files?

    Hi,
I have downloaded MSN messenger for my new Macbook Pro. I have made a folder called Downloads under my user in which I save the dmg file. When I open this and installation starts I get another messenger file on my desktop.
If I then try and close messenger after installation and delete this file, messenger won't work. I want a clean desktop. When I downloaded firefox, I simply threw away the same kind of file and firefox still works great.
What do I do with this file/icon, after I have installed a program and dragged it to the dock?
    Thanks a bunch.

What you did is just create a shortcut to the image that was on your desktop.
-- Do not drag the expanded image icon itself
(nor of course the compressed .dmg or .zip):
It's an application that you have to put in the Applications folder.
    Where is the application,
    step by step:
    - download your compressed .dmg
    - double-click it: it expands as a white icon containing an application and some ReadMe files or link to the author's website
    - read the ReadMe file, so you can learn how to install/uninstall your application
    - this expanded file acts like a CD or an external drive: its icon looks like a drive icon
    - (usually,) drag the application from within this "CD-ish", "drivish" folder, to your Applications folder on your Mac.
    - now you can eject the expanded white icon, just like when you eject a CD or an external drive.
The application is now copied in the Applications folder.
--> Now that the application is in your Applications folder, you can create its Dock shortcut, you can create an alias of it if you wish, etc.

    Thanks for your quickly response!
    This is  what I follow:
    Settings/iCloud/Storage & Backup/Manage Storage/MyIphone/

I have lots of old files that do not have extensions so Tiger does not know what to do with them, Get info displays the files as Unix Executable Files. Is there anything I can do to figure out what the files really are?

Open the Terminal in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder, type in the following:
    file
followed by a space, and then drag the items into it. The Terminal will then make an attempt to determine what format each file's content is.

  • How to save applications and what to do with .dmg file

To be honest I think that it is much easier to download apps on windows, but maybe i'm just not doing something right here. It seems that every time I download an app I get a number of files that I don't know what to do with. I get the .dmg file that I save to my desktop and then there is the app icon, and then there is that little white rectangular box that shows up on the desktop when I am using it. It's like it's treating the app as hardware or something that can be ejected. Before I now it my desktop is cluttered with a bunch of these white boxes, app icons, and .dmg files. Anyone have any instructions as to how to manage my apps? Can I delete the .dmg file once i've installed the app? If not, where should I save it? What do I drag to Applications in the finder? the app icon, the white rectangular box, the .dmg file? Anyone know what i'm talking about? I just want to be able to go to my applications file, find the app icon and open it without having to worry about anything else showing up on my desktop. Thanks.

OK, the .dmg is a disc image. When this is mounted you get 'that little white rectangular box'.
When you open the mounted disc (that little white rectangular box) you will find all the files and .app application that you wanted. Copy these to your applications folder or anywhere else you want to put them then simply move 'that little white rectangular box' and .dmg to the trash. Job done.
    Hope this makes sense

  • What is happening with REX files in Logic 9?

    Hi.
I am having some major issues with Logic 9.
I cut up lots of my samples in recycle and then put them into the EXS24 for programming.
Since ive been on Logic 9 some wierd problems keep happening including what happens in the following screen recording...
    http://www.box.net/shared/jnrhr7z73c
(To summarise, why is only 2 regions/samples showing in the EXS when there are clearly so many more in recycle.... this happens with a lot of my files.... Never happened in Logic7!!!!)
Any ideas would be much appreciated....
    Thanks, Ben

To be honest with you, it seems like the whole import to EXS24 is buggered at the moment, so many bits of it aren't functioning properly.
But... I used to cut up beats in Recycle exactly the same way you just demonstrated in your video. Now though, after the update to L9, Recycle sits there unused because it's far easier and faster to do it in the arrange with flex time markers and the new *'convert to new sampler track'* feature.

  • What to do with indd file that I can't open?

So I have a file made on Mac and ID CS4. The file is corrupt and I can't open it on the Mac. Tried to open it on PC with CS6, but the same problem appears. At one moment ID even give an Error code 4, but there is no explanation what do that error code mean. Can anyone help me figure out what to do?

Occasionally it works to open as a copy.
If you aren't able to recover it that way, and the cost to rebuild is high, you should consider the recovery service from Markzware. There is a fixed take-in fee, and then the recovery charged based on the size, complexity, and amount recovered from your file. Bad InDesign or Quark File Recovery Submission Form
David Dilling of Markzware offered a discount on on the recovery fee on a trial basis for forum users who provided a link to where they learned about the service here on the forum, but I don't know if that offer is still available.

  • Now what? Help with .jar files

Hey. I just finished a program. I want to share it with my friends or anyone else. I can create a .jar file but I have no idea what to do next. Is there an easy way to "publish" your programs (like create a .exe file?). Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, Merlot14

java -jar MyFile.jarwill work if you've set your manifest correctly. If you're distributing only to Windows users, you could include a shortcut, I believe. Similarly, for distribution to Linux/OS X users, you could include a shell script.

  • Irony: Bridge doesn't know what to do with .pictclipping file (Mac)

Bridge 5.0.2.4 running under Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 does not know to which application to hand a ".pictclipping" file.
This type of file normally opens in the Finder, without launching any other application or utility of any kind.
However, Bridge doesn't even show a preview in The Content panel or in the Preview panel either.  Double clicking on such a file within Bridge's Content panel results in Bridge launching and/or bringing to the front the TextEdit application showing a totally empty window showing the actual name of the file in its title bar but a completely blank window.
Needless to say, it's not possible to establish a file association between this kind of file and the Finder from within Bridge.
Just another example of the lack of attention and resources Adobe has shown toward its stepchild application, Bridge.
Adobe Photoshop 13.0.5 does not open such files through its Open menu item dialog either, even though it correctly detects them as a .PICT files.

The only way to see an image contained within a PictClipping in OSX 10.8.4 is in Apple's own Finder App. and it appears that you can't do anything with it once you have "found" it?!  …
That's exactly as it is meant to be, Ann.  An image that is lightning fast to create, lightning fast to view and utterly impossible to alter, manipulate or edit!
You can, however, copy its contents to your Clipboard after Command+A.
    CameraAnn wrote:
Clicking on it, only opens it in an empty RTF window.
Double clicking on it in all Mac OS versions I know, from Mac OS 9.x and earlier up to and including Lion 10.7.5, immediately shows the image in the Finder itself in a stretchable, floating, Finder window.
Have no knowledge of Mountain Lion (which won't run on my Mac Pro1,1 Quad) but what you describe above is exactly what happens when you double click the image in Bridge's Content panel, and that's just plain wrong behavior.  The blank window is not a Finder window in that case, but a TextEdit window.

Images from other than MS Office progams can be drag-copied to the Desktop as JPEGs and MS Office images can always be Copied/Saved As to the location and format of your choice.
So I am not sure why anyone would need to make an Image PictClipping anyway?
Oh, I make pictClippings and textClippings all the time, every single day!
For example, I have a large collection of both pictClippings and textClippings containg killer tips by Photoshop luminaries like Bruce Fraser, Ann Shelbourne and Andrew Rodney, that I've created over the years—in a nanosecond each time—by simply highlighting portions of their Adobe forum posts and dragging the selection to the Desktop:  instant, permanent reminders!
No application needed to open them or to copy their contents.
Another helpful use is to select text from emails giving me the registration or serial number of applications or plug-ins I buy online then save the clipping in a Reg_SerialNumbers folder for later.
    CameraAnn wrote:
However, Bridge will show only the file icon for any image-containing Clipping…
Sure, but that's just the unacceptable, unnecessary tease I'm complaining about.
    CameraAnn wrote:
…Double-Clicking on one will immediately open a small Finder .app window floating over the Bridge CC window…
You're wrong there, Ann; it's not a Finder window but a TextEdit window.  Just look at your menu bar next time you invoke such a tease from within Bridge: the focus will have shifted to the TextEdit application.  That's why the window will show text but not images.
Clippings are one of the GREAT features of the Mac OS that are missing in Windows, and one very important factor that attracted me to the Mac almost thirty years ago.
I am very, very surprised that you haven't discovered its usefulness after all these years, as you are one of the savviest Mac user experts I've ever run across.

  • What to do with .dmg files after downloading

I am somewhat new to OS X (however not new to Mac), so this may seem like a dumb question...
After I download an application, plug-in whatever, I have a .dmg file and another icon that looks like a hard drive on my desktop. I know that these are the installer files, but what do I do with them after I install something?
I have been "ejecting" the one that looks like a hard drive, and the other with the .dmg extention I've put in the trash. I put the applications I downloaded and other misc. like the "read me" files together in a folder in the Applications part of the finder.
Is this right? I feel so silly for asking...

    Hi
You're doing it right, however: Depending on the application I find it unnecessary to put non-essential files in the Application folder. It is often enough just to put the actual app in the Apps folder. If you archive the .dmg file in a downloads/installers folder in your Home folder, as I do, then you can always access the other misc. files again if ever necessary. It's neater that way, and when the latter folder becomes large I just burn it to disc, file it away somewhere and empty the folder to clear space.
