You could engrave a cool quote from somewhere.. like Star Trek. (haha)
Quotes are always fun. Most people will get popular quotes, and when people take your ipod and read it, you'll be the belle of the ball, but if you quote something that not many people know, you'd have to go through the hassle of explaining it.
Or something humourous and simple, like "Poo in the Loo". Actually don't use "Poo in the Loo". That's mine.

An Ipod can be synced with only one ITunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this IPod with the contents of this ITunes library.
Then it asks me if I want to delete and sync.
I am not sure what to do for fear of erasing everything I have put on my Ipod.

If I understand you correctly, you are trying to use iTunes to play the Music in your iPod but which is not in your itunes library. I don't think Apple design iTunes for use in your way. As to put and play music in iPod, the music has to be in iTunes first, so you play music in the iTunes music Library. the window with Ipod music is just to show you which music are already in the Ipod, in case you want to Manually Manage your huge music library.

How do i move ipod nano content to a new Windows computer? My old computer died and when i try to sync to itunes on my new Windows computer, it says it will erase what's on the ipod. I can't seem to de-authorize the old computer (it's been recycled).

On screen was shown available space somewhat less than 120 GB, but maybe somewhere between 10 and 20 GB more in the library. I had to get the iPod updated anyway, so I did proceed. However, afterwards the total content of the library was only about 110 GB. Now I wonder what did actually happen. Was the first sign only corrected for double copies of the same files or lost files or where files deleted from iTunes? And if files where deleted from iTunes, were they also deleted from my computer?

Same as you would if you bought a pc; copy everything from your old computer to your new one. Then you can just sync everything from the new computer, as you did with the old one.

There is a OneClickdigital ereader available in the App Store. Download that to your iPod to read pdfs and books from the library. And you might need to download the OneClickdigital eaudio player to listen to audiobooks from the library. Once both are downloaded sync you iPod again to transfer them.

First, restore the itunes library of the backup of the old drive to the new drive. That will restore your music.
Now, here's one thing to try (I have iTM but haven't gone from icloud down to a new mac), with iTunes Match, you could try using a new itunes library (assuming you lost the old one and have no backup), set up iTM as you did before, and see if the cloud data will come down to the new drive/computer.
If that doesn't work, there are applications/apps that can connect a device to a mac (I assume also a pc) and let you transfer files to the computer. As I recall, iFile may be one of them - look at the itunes app store. There may be programs that run on the computer that can suck files from device to computer. Google around for more info.

I would have to say the iPod Touch 5th Gen. because its more portable and costs less but iPad have its own PROS like better internet surfing and you can do alot more things on it but the choice is yours. Your nano would really have nothing to do with it at that point. It is really something between iTunes and whatever server out there on the internet that it is trying to connect to for the update.
Try posting this one in the iTunes forum, they might have a solution for you.
