  • Has a stop marker any function when burning blu-ray discs with Premiere Elements 12?

Stop marker when burning blu-ray discs with Pre 12. Does it works?

    Amiral
    No.
This applies to Premiere Elements any version.
Stop markers placed on the Premiere Elements Timeline destined for burn to Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc are not recognized at playback of that disc using the Blu-ray player.
If you need Blu-ray disc with stop markers, you can export your Premiere Elements Timeline content to an appropriate file type that will be compatible with a 3rd party software which will get the job done. I have heard that a software such as DVD Architect can do that, but I have not been there and done that.
Stop markers function at playback of DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc only. And, never place a stop marker at the end of the last item on that Timeline.

  • My PC is Pavilion dv7. When I insert Blue Ray Disc, Blue Screen occures. I install PowereDVD 11.

No error occurs when using DVD and CD-ROM. I could use Blue Ray Disc (any format of Blue Ray Disc including commercial movie disc) three months before (May). I also asking cyberlink in case software problem. Should I attach system error log ?

Thank you for your info. I tryed to update driver to the latest one on device manager, but it says "this is the latest

Then driver is automatically installed, but the version is still the same (v1.00).

I also installed "sp50287" OS enhancement patch for HP pavilion dv7, which was suggested by HP support

  • Best Way to Play Blu-ray disc/Blu-ray ISO on Windows 8

Nowadays, almost any computer can play DVD movies as long as there is a DVD drive provided, whatever it's a PC or Mac, homemade DVD or commercial DVD. But what about Blu-ray movies? Could your Windows 8 PC play this high definition movie formats without fuss? How to play Blu-ray on PC with Windows 8 system? This article will tell you the best way for playing/watch Blu-ray discs or Blu-ray ISO Files on Windows 8.
In order to watch Blu-ray discs or BD ISO on Windows 8, you must have three things: 1) a Blu-ray disc drive, 2) a Blu-ray movie, and 3) Blu-ray Player Software(Need decrypting Blu-ray function). It is this third one – software – that causes the majority of problems for Blu-ray users. The free player like Windows Media Player, VLC Player, etc don't have Blu-ray decrypting function and not support playing Blu-ray movies. So this Blu-ray Player for Windows 8 from UFUSoft will be the best solution for you.
Follow the following steps to Play Blu-ray discs or Blu-ray ISO movie and media file on Windows 8:
Step 1: Connect the Blu-ray driver to your Windows 8 PC via a USB connection. The USB of the driver should be above 2.0.
Step 2: Free Download the Windows 8 Blu-ray Disc/Blu-ray ISO Player and then install it.
Step 3: Insert your Blu-ray disc into the Blu-ray driver. Next, open your Blu-ray movie by just pressing the “Open Disc” in the main interface to select Blu-ray drive and then click "OK" button to load the Blu-ray directly. You can now enjoy your Blu-ray movies on Windows 8 PC.
Another option is to load Blu-ray folder, you can click "Open File" button to directly select the Blu-ray folder and click "OK" button, now you can watch the Blu-ray movie on Windows 8 PC.
Step 4: Stop the playing the Blu-ray movie on Windows 8. If you want to stop playing the Blu-ray disc, you only need click Stop Button and eject the Blu-ray movie.
    Tips:
    1. When you want to play the Blu-ray ISO image file, you need to load Blu-ray ISO image file to the virtual drive firstly, the open method is the same with loading Blu-ray disc.
    2. While the video is playing, click the "Snapshot" button to take a picture from a video. Click Open Snapshot Folder to find the captured picture. You can choose the snapshot format and the snapshot folder in the Preference window. And also you can choose the image format like JPEG, PNG, BMP.
    3. When playing Blu-ray disc, you are allowed to choose the specific title/chapter in the "Controls > Title/Chapter" column to play.
Hope this way could help you have no problem to enjoy Blu-ray disc and Blu-ray ISO files on Windows 8, more info please enter: Play Blu-ray disc/Blu-ray ISO on Windows 8 PC.

I am sorry to say that you cannot play Blu-ray movies on any Mac. Whether any of us agree or disagree with this, it is the way of things currently. One can rip Blu-ray movies to a Mac, and play them without menus or extras, but this is illegal and it is a violation of the terms of use of these forums to discuss.

  • What is a Blu-ray Disc-compliant asset?

I know this question sounds silly, anyone knows what Blu-ray Disc-compliant assets are? (I imagine 1920x1080 etc, etc) but is there a definition anywhere that explains more about it,  I couldn't find it anywhere in the Adobe Help documents, according to the Adobe Encore Help : 'Blu‑ray Disc-compliant assets typically do not require transcoding", obviously I want to avoid transcoding any HD files if possible.  Thanks for your help.

And yes like demon_hunter83 said, I do want to get the best possible quality (regardless of encoding/transcoding time), but I'm asking this question because I want to build my projects in a blu-ray format, and because my (slow) computer just took 53+ hours to transcode 1 hour 12 minutes and 58 seconds of HD footage to a DVD ISO built, I have no complains about the DVD quality I got, but I basically want to avoid transcoding at all possible, for those 2 reasons, first the time it takes to transcode and second to avoid any quality loss (if any), but when I hear people say that I have to transcode the files but at the same time the provided help says that it can be avoided by using blu-ray disc compliant assets I have to stop and ask someone who has been there or that has much more experience than me. Thanks again.
what that means is, if you bring in a mp4 or whatever file recorded on your camera, take it off of your camera memory, and dump it straight to Encore, completely vanilla, it HAS to trasncode it to a DISC proprietary format (be it DVD or Blu-ray) for it to work on a set-top player. if you take that SAME mp4 file, import it into premiere pro, and edit it (or dont. your choice), then export the video out to 'mpeg dvd/Blu-ray,' or 'h264 bluray,' THAT file will import into encore without needing to be trasncoded (because premiere already did that for us). so thats why it says "that it can be avoided by using blu-ray disc compliant assets" because they are importing a DISC proprietary asset that has already been trasncoded in premiere/avid/final cut/vegas/etc first.
as far as it taking forever and a day to trasncode, that is just the nature of working with HD if your system is not optimal. what are your specs for your system?
i prefer to do all encoding in premiere, while others (hunt, and such) prefer to drag in AVI assetts to encore and let it go, but with encore not having true background processing, i basically have to allocate a huge chunk of time to do that. so i would much rather set all assetts how i want them, and set up a queue for AME and while assetts are transcoding in AME, i can work on making menus and crap in Encore/PS and that is my preferred workflow. i set the assetts to trasncode to disc compliant formats, so all i have to do is drop it in encore, set my menu links to the assetts, and build disc.
but you can NOT get around having to transcode your camera footage. EVERY single one of us who uses any kind of format other than film, has to recompress an already compressed format to get it to disc. atleast with film you can work with notive lossless form source, somewhat. but such is working with digital captureing formats
the only way to avoid trasncoding to a blu-ray/dvd spec file is to burn an AVCHD disc, but those are NOT blu-ray spec, so it depends on the players and alot of factores whether or not they would even play. and encore does not even burn those types, so you would have to find other software that does that. but thats the only way i can think of... but again... it would have to be purely vanilla files from the camera, because if you did any editing in premiere, you have to transcode all that info to one final file... preferably a disc proprietary format

  • Enocore CS5 error when trying to burn to blue ray disc

My project consists of 4 AVCHD clips imported separately into Encore as timelines and then I deleted the timelines to keep just these assets.  I built a new timeline and added these three clips to this timeline.  Three of the AVCHD clips are on the timeline with a total time of about 3:30.  The fourth is a 30 second clip used for the motion menu  background.  The file size is 22.95 GB.  There are 39 chapters in the project, the top page (page 0) has three buttons linking to chapters 1, 21, and 30 (the start of each of the clips).  The other pages of the menu have 6 video buttons per page linked to chapters.  All of the clips when highlighted will lead to the project setting "Do Not Transcode" (which is what I want) and I am buring this to a 25GB blu ray disc.  When I checked the project everything seemed okay- no error messages.  I then went to build the disc and after about 20 minutes I got the following error message:
    "Blu-Ray Object: "<Menu>NTSC_FISH top menu",Error:"device error",Code: "2",
Note: "Too many primary video streams in clip (Spec Table 9-3,Annex B)"
The menu name is NTSC_FISH topmenu.  Any ideas what the problem is and how I can fix this?

I went to the original motion menu source and saved it as Microsoft AVI (file name:    Premiere pro avi for menu.avi) instead of AVCHD hoping that might help and then brought that file into Encore and linked that as the motion video for the top menu (the other menus don't have a motion background). I tried to animate the buttons for all the menu pages.  When I click on the Premiere Pro avi for menu.avi asset the options show for DVD Transcode automatic and for Blu Ray Automatic (for transcoding).  The file shows as 720X576 and it is 34 seconds long.  The top menu is checked to animate buttons and I can uncheck it if I want, the submenus-start at page 1- have the animate buttons grayed out but checked and I can't uncheck these even if I wanted to. When I tried to burn this to disc, it got further along- burning 13.15 gb to disc and then I got the following error message:
Blu-ray error:File already exists",Code:"6", Note:Video buffer underflows. Total bitrate is too high near time = 1321.253267 seconds-
I am running Windows 7 64 bit, 2.4 ghz processor Quad core, 6 gb of memory and 69.1 gb free on my external hard drive and 29.7 gb free on my c drive.  I have an NVIDIA GE force 8500T card.  Any ideas?

  • Chapter markers won't work when Blu-ray Disc burned

I just burned a Blu-ray Disc directly in FCP7 (using Sharing). My 5 chapter markers are nowhere to be found when I play the disc back in my player.
What happened? I don't want the chapter markers as subtitles -- simply want them to work as chapter markers.
I'm sure I've burned Blu-ray before and the chapter markers exported just fine. Don't know what's wrong, this time.

Larry, in Compressor, open the preview window and be sure the markers are there before encoding. If not, create a chapter list in DVDSP format and import it. I'm not sure why they don't show sometime, but I believe that if they appear in the Compressor preview window, they will be there on the final disc.
You can export a marker list from FCP and manipulate the text file (I use TextEdit's replace function) to turn it into this format:
    00:23:24:15 Chapter one
    00:35:12:19 Chapter two etc.
This can be imported in the Compressor preview window.

  • I keep getting "media not present" when tring to burn blu ray disc using PE 10. This used to work fine. Nothing changed as far as I know

Has any one had this problem?

    Karl
    Thanks for the reply.
    Part 1.
    1. Task Manager/Process. If you are seeing the following processes with Premiere Elements 10 closed, then Task Manager/Processes and End Task for each of these processes
    that you are seeing there
    a. Adobe QT32 Server.exe
    and
    b. Elements Auto Analyser.exe
    Part 2.
    a. Open Premiere Elements 10 to the Timeline workspace, go to Help Menu/Deactivate and click on Deactivate. Close out of there.
    b. Then, uninstall Premiere Elements 10 via the usual Control Panel route.
    c. Do a run through with the free ccleaner (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts).
    CCleaner - Download
    d. Reinstall Premiere Elements 10 with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
    Part 3. ccleaner details.
Cleaner part. This is straight forward. Click on the Cleaner Tab in the left column of the ccleaner dialog and then click on Run Cleaner in the section of the dialog to the right.
Registry part. Click on the Registry Tab in the left column of the ccleaner dialog. Then click on Scan for Issues in the section of the dialog to the right.
After the "Scan for Issues" is completed, you will then see an active "Fix Selected Issues" to the right of "Scan for Issues".
    Click on "Fix Selected Issues".
At this point, you will see a pop up dialog
Click Yes to that message and continue to Save the registry backup file to your computer hard drive location of your choice.
Follow the on screen instructions after the save of the registry back up file.
    Part 3.
The critical part is that you obtain the Premiere Elements 10 installation files. You already have the purchased serial number. So you should be OK on the serial number side of things.
Download and install the Premiere Elements 10 tryout files appropriate to your computer from the following web site. It is critical that you read and care out word for word the web page's write up for "Note: Very Important Instructions" and use its click "here" as instructed. Otherwise you will get an excess denied message.
Photoshop Elements 10 Direct Download Links: Free Trials, Premiere | ProDesignTools
During the installation of these files to your computer, when asked for, insert your purchased serial number into them.
Make sure that antivirus and firewall(s) are disabled for the download and install.
Comments. There are no guarantees that this will resolve the "No Media Present" for Premiere Elements 10 burn to AVCHD on DVD and Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc. In the end, you may have to look at external burners until you find one that works for you for these burn to choices.
Did any of your computer pre-loaded software come with backup installation files? I suspect not.
Please review the above and then let us know if you need clarification on any of the above. You might want to give more consideration to exploring the external burner possible solution.
    Thanks.

  • Bad Quality blu ray disc, no matter what settings I use.

I hope somebody has a solution for this issue:
I exported a .m2t file from premiere using the mainconcept pro hd plugin. the video is a 1920 x 1080i 29.97 fps .m2t video at the highest mpeg quality settings on the plugin. The file its 29 gigs on size and looks great when played back directly, it is 1 hour and 45 minutes long. Then I imported the file to encore cs3 and made a nice set of menus and chapters, etc. Then I set the quality settings for transcoding to the best quality mpeg for 1920 x 1080 interlaced video, and check the project settings as well to the best quality. And here is when I notice a few strange things: 1.- The disc info bar, in the Build section, shows that the blu ray disc is using only 2.7 gigs of space, even when the .m2t file is 29 gigs and I`m using the best quality settings. 2.- the preview image in the monitor section looks choppy and very low quality. 3.- finally, after hours of transcoding and burning, the quality of the finished blu ray disc is very, very bad, and the total size of the files burned into the disc is about 7 gigs total. I tried many different quality settings in the program, but the results are the same or worst. I tried burning the original 29 gigs file using other program (cyberlink power producer) with no menus, and the results are far superior. (the things is I need the menus and chapters in this project, so I HAVE to do it in encore). Is there a way to get a decent quality blu ray using my video file in encore ? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I had a couple of other thoughts.
Are you using an Apple possibly with Leopard OS?
    If a PC which OS.
How do you view the 29 GB file when you say it "looks great when played back directly"?
Have you ever successfully burned a bluRay disk with your system?
29 GB seems too big for that amount of footage (at least to me).
You might check out this thread (particularly post #7 of 9)
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx?128@@.59b5bb15
which describes a workflow revolving around H.264. and the possible role of "forced interlacing" by Encore.
I don't know if Jeff would agree, but there are a lot of problems with BluRay authoring. All you have to do is look up and down the list of posts. Personally, I think I bypassed all that by using Cineform.

  • How do you get Chapter Markers to work when burning a Blu-ray Disc in FCP7?

I created my first-ever Blu-ray disc yesterday, using FCP7. My edited video was 95 minutes long -- it took 10 hours to encode and burn the disc, using an external Blu-ray burner.
The Blu-ray disc looks and sounds great -- but my 21 chapter markers are nowhere to be found. When I play back the disc in my standalone Blu-ray player, clicking "next" on the remote simply advances the video in 30-second increments (instead of taking me to the chapter markers I'd carefully created in FCP -- because this was a music concert performance, the markers are important and I need them to work.)
    Somebody please help ...

    Hi Larry,
just to clarify in the 'edit markers' dialogue box you have clicked 'Add Chapter Marker' button and this has added the text '<CHAPTER>' to the 'comment' box.

  • What do I need besides my HD camcorder to get a Blu Ray disc

I want a Sony HDR SR12.  If I buy this what else do I need to end up with a Blu-Ray disc of my movies?
I guess my question is: Do I need a Blu-Ray burner to get a blu-ray disc or will my regular dVD burner give me the Blu Ray disc?
Can I get Blu Ray burners that connect directly to my camcorder? I thought at the store they had one but cannot find it online.
I know I need the software, an HDTV and a Blu Ray player.
    Help. I'm so frustrated.

My previous reply got deleted for referencing a BB competitor (even though I was reccommending AGAINST going to said competitor as their Blu-Ray drive is more expensive than other vendors even after a 20% going-out-of-business sale).
I don't know if there are BR burners that connect directly to your camera.  Most likely it will be rather expensive and less flexible than a PC-based solution.
An internal SATA PC-based Blu-Ray drive (for desktops, not laptops) will run you $200-220 or so.  Don't pay more than this, at least not for the most common burners on the market at the moment such as the LG GGW-H20L.  If you have a laptop you'll need to find an external BR burner, or buy an internal burner and a separate 5.25" USB-to-SATA enclosure (to make it an external drive).
You will get FAR more flexibility with a PC-based burner than with a camera-based unit.  That said, editing HD video on a slow PC can be an unpleasant task.  It's possible but it'll be a slow process.
Also, in the interim, you can burn a Blu-Ray file structure to a DVD, and nearly all Blu-Ray players will treat it as if it were a Blu-Ray.  Since single-layer DVDs only hold 4.7GB and single-layer BR holds 25GB, you will be very limited as to how much video you can fit.  (15-20 minutes depending on quality most likely.  A bit more if you downscale to 720P.)

  • No option to select Blu-Ray folder as source when trying to burn to Blu-ray disc

    Hello,
I've created a project at home that I want to put on Blu-Ray. At home I don't have a Blu-Ray burner so I created a Blu-Ray Folder in Encore and brought over to a friends house to burn using Encore. But in Encore it doesn't have the option to select Blu-Ray Folder as a Source, only current project or disc image. I know when doing this with a DVD it gives the option for current project, disc image AND DVD folder. Why not for Blu-Ray? Anything I can do with out having to redo as a Blu-Ray disc image? Thank you

Can't speak for Blu-ray, but with DVD, it is very important that the disc be burned as "DVD Video". For instance in Windows, if you simply drag the VIDEO_TS folder to a blank disc and burn as "Data", it is not going to play in most DVD players.
A computer will usually recognize the content of the disc as being DVD material and will likely play it. But DVD players are expecting a disc formatted a certain way, which a data disc is NOT, and therefore will not play the "data" disc.
A lot of the newer DVD players will play more types of media, such as MP3 and stuff, so possibly more of them would now recognize a VIDEO_TS folder on a data disc, but to do it right, you must burn as a DVD Video.
Most disc burning software will offer options of "DATA" or "DVD VIDEO" because there IS a difference in track layout, and there is special info written to disc that identifies it as a "DVD" also.
In the case of creating a Disc Image, or .iso file, from Encore, then that is a "snapshot" of the DVD with all the right stuff in place, so any software that can use an .iso will make a proper DVD. But again, you cannot just burn the .iso file straight to a disc as data, the software must be capable of creating a disc from an Image.
    Hope this makes sense
    Thanks
