What type of AC adapter for taking U.S. MBP to Europe???

Has anyone in the U.S. taken their MBPro to Europe and used an AC adapter to plug it in there?? I'll be gone for 3 weeks and my battery has just crapped out on me, with not enough time to ship it for a replacement before I leave, so I'll need to plug it in to work while I'm there. But I'm terrified of getting the wrong kind of adapter and frying this expensive monster, not to mention all my data. Can anyone point me to some specific products that would work specifically with a Macbook Pro?? It's my understanding that I do NOT need a converter or a transformer, just plug adapters, but do I need to look for something that will work specifically with my laptop, and what sort of ratings should I look for to be completely safe? I'm using the cord and charger that came with the laptop. Thanks for any help!

Does the adapter need to provide a real ground? My son is taking his to Italy for a semester, but will be traveling around Europe. I found one grounded adapter for Italy (and only Italy - it has three round posts in a row), but everything I've looked at doesn't provide a ground (there's a spot to accept it, but it's a dummy). Since his MBP is the only electronic item any of us have that has a 3-prong plug (we have two Windows laptops that only have 2 prongs), I'm not sure if this is just a "just in case" thing or if it's really needed.

  • What's the power Adapter for Macbook pro 13inch Mid 2012

What's the power Adapter for Macbook pro 13inch Mid 2012 with core i-7, 2.9ghz, 8Gb ram?
AFAIK it should be a 60wat Megasafe power adapter.
But mine shipped with a 45Watt Megasafe. I got it as a Gift from my friend.
    Thanks in Advance.

This should be my Adapter right?
    Yes.
There is a drawback in addition to taking a longer time to charge up your MBP.  In unusual instances when using your MBP with power adapter attached, and running a very heavy load on the CPU/GPU, the MBP will require additional electrical resources in addition to what the power adapter can provide.  It will then draw upon the battery.  What this means is that using a 45 watt adapter, these conditions are more likely to occur.
Using a 45 watt adapter should not harm your MBP as such.
    Ciao.

  • What Changes should i do for taking material number in MM01.

    Hi ,
I am recording Material Master 'MM01'. In that Material Number is not taking numeric values. Automatically its generating one number for one record. But I want to give my own number to that material. what changes I need to do. I want to use that recording in BDC program.
    Plz..give me the solution.

That is due to functional settings. Here the internal and external no ranges are defined on the basis of material types.
Just go through spro tcode logistics general->material master->material types---> define number ranges for each material type. Here you can see a table control just check whether any material type is there with external check box as checked. Now at the time of recording just enter that material types which allows you to give a external material no( inside the defined range). Or just ask your functional.

  • What is the universal adapter for?

Is it useful for the third parties data source?
What is it designed purpose for these adapter.
    Thanks.

yeah normally you will read flat files with the universal adapters...
in the following directory you will find some examples of those flat files:
    C:\OracleBI\dwrep\Informatica\Sample Universal Source Files
So you can build ETL to generate those flat files, of you can adjust the universal adapte to read directly from your source system.

  • What dual band wifi adapter for HP ENVY x360 15-u205na

What dual band wifi adapter is compabible with the HP ENVY x360 15-u205na please.  It is somewhat disappointing that a current laptop is still only single band 2.4Ghz, if I had known before purchasing the HP it would certainly have changed my purchase decision.

    Hi,
This is an Intel based laptop so you can use Intel 6235 or 7260AC I guess. Go for the 6235. It's a decent wireless card..

  • What's the best app for taking a video on ipad2?

I am a tennis coach and am looking for an app for my iPad2 to do video analysis. I need to be able to video someone doing a serve and then show it to them in slow motion and be able to pause it. What's the best app for this?

Do some research into HTML5 video. Unless the user is using a modern browser with video playback capabilities, they would need to have an app to provide video playback, as well as the codecs for the video file format that you will be serving them. At this point in time, MP4 is the "clear(est)" winner of the online video formats. However not all browsers provide built-in playback. For instance, Firefox currently does not support MP4. Future Firefox builds will rely on whatever video playback the native OS provides. So coming back to your question - no, there's no real way of guaranteeing video playback on the web. You do the best you can and provide links to users where they can download the appropriate codecs and players and call it a day.

  • What type of HBA needed for 220 R to connect to 3100 JBOD

    Hi
We have a number of 3100 JBODs that are not currently being used and I am planning to use them to connect to the 220R server. What type of HBA we would need to make that happen.
    Thanks
    Srini

Sorry, you won't be able to connect an Sun Storage Array 200 to an Intel server. The array uses a Sun sbus HBA. It is commonly known as a SOC adaptor and is only available in sbus, so the array can only be connected to Sun sbus systems, not pci systems.

  • What type of connectors needed for optical audio out?

Hi, looking at upgrading to an imac and I noticed on the spec it has optical audio out which would be great to go into my audio interface. What connector do I need? Is it TOSLINK type?
Had a look at the picture of the rear but couldn't see an optical out port, only the jacks for analogue. Where does the optical come out!?
    Thanks!

If you want to connect the iMac to something that has Toslink then you would need a cable similar to this:
    http://www.amazon.com/6ft-Toslink-Mini-Cable/dp/B000FMXKC8/ref=pdcp_e_1?pf_rd_p=413863501&pf_rd_s=center-41&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B0002MQGRM&pf_rd_ m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rdr=1TDMZGX7YP22Q17RP1X3
I use one myself, they work fine.

  • What's the best camcorder for taking video to edit in final cut express?

I had a sony, but the file type was MTS and it required conversion to edit in Final Cut Express 3.  So i sold it on ebay, and I'm looking to replace it.  Does anyone have a set up that is easy to transfer HD video from their camera to their Mac, and edit those files right in Final Cut 3?
    Thanks!
    J

Not sure this is "rubbish" as you say Tom.  FCE 4 has to take files directly from the camera.  Works fine when I have the files I want to work with on the camera, does not work fine when I saved them to my hard drive, and want to import them later.
In case you don't believe my personal experience, here's another souce that has had the same conslusion:
"Incidentally, Final Cut Express will not transcode the native .MTS files directly; it needs to take the footage from the camcorder. However, a $30 utility called Voltaic can do the job outside Final Cut Express; it works on PowerPC Macs, too."
    http://www.macworld.com/article/131409/2008/01/finalcutexpress4.html
To Mr. Fore, I believe you are correct, it works fine to pull right from the camera, no issue there.  Issue comes in when I just want to dump video to my local hard drive and clean out the camera's hard drive so I can keep shooting, and come back at a later date to edit and clean up the old footage.  I end up having to import everything from the camera to Final Cut Express 4, which is time consuming, rather than just drop the files on to my hard drive.
What I would like to know, is there a camcorder out there that saves files in a format that I can drop on my local hard drive, and then pull into FCE later.  I would love to hear from someone who has done that, what camera they are using.

  • What does the AC Adapter for the WD My Cloud Look Like?

I have the WD My Cloud 3TB Part Number: WDBCTL0030HWT-00 I unplugged all my network equipment and went back to plug them in once everything was rearranged.  But I have 2 AC to DC adapters that use the same plug, so I don't know which one is the right one.   I personally think it is stupid not to put a WD logo on the AC adapter due to situations like this.  But I usually mark these myself.  I suppose I was in too much of a hurry to get it online to mark it this time. Nevertheless, I have two adapters, both produce 12 volts.  I does 1.5A and the other does 1A. The one that outputs 12V & 1.5A is by Ktec: Model KSAS0241200150HU The one that outputs 12V & 1A is by Leader Electronics, Inc.: Model MT12-Y120100-A1 Anyone know which is the correct one?   One (the 1.5A) would hang down from the wall socket while the other one (1A) shoots off to the side of it.

    Hello,
    The power adapter specs are:
    12 Volts
    1.5 Amps
    18 Watts
Take a look a these links:

  • What type of firewire cable for 2006 iMac?

I asked at Best Buy and they gave me 4pin, didn't work. I looked online and got 9 pin, it fits the MBPro we're trying to connect the iMac to but not the iMac. So I know I need a 9pin for the MBPro but what should the other end be? Everything I saw online said 9 pin but its clearly not even the right shape to fit the port on the back of my computer... FWIW, I'm trying to connect to the MBPro so we can boot from their HD and install a new OS on our computer becuase the cd rom drive on mine is broken.

    You need a cable like

You should be able to get one at BBY, RadioShack, Fry's Electronics or of course Amazon.
