What type of application would be useful ??

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to develop an application to reset the pwd for SAP users on the system specified ie.R3 CRM or BW. I have to capture few information from the user like SAP user id , system and date of joining. After veryfying this  data, Pwd will be reset for the user and will be sent through mail.
Now my question is, I need few suggestions as using what platform should i develop the same. WebDynpro Java , Guided Procedures or Offline interactive form or anything else other than these. Please suggest.
Regards
Ishita

Hi Ishita,
Web Dynpro java is simple to use in this case. Sending email after resetting the pwd can be configured in the backend.
Guided Procedures - We use generally where we need work flow and approvals.
Developing RFC applications is easier in WD Java than Interactive Forms.

Siva

  • What type of hardrive would I use with bootcamp?

I've been using windows successfully with bootcamp! However I want to add more space. I dont mind deleting my bootcamp and starting over the only thing is I dont know if I buy a windows external harddrive or a mac one? Please answer, thank you.

As we both have said you can use any external hard drive on the Mac or the PC depending upon how you set up the drive.
    1. Partition the drive GUID and format as Mac OS Extended, Journaled.
    2. Re-partition the drive into two volumes. One remains as-is for use by the Mac.
    3. Format the other volume for use on the PC: MSDOS (FAT) or ExFAT.
This can all be accomplished using Disk Utility. Before you make your external drive purchase you need to ask the vendor how the drive is pre-formatted. You want one that is already formatted for the Mac or has been formatted FAT32 for the PC. You do not want one pre-formatted for NTFS. I would recommend you get your external drive from OWC. You will find a choice of products that include both the hard drive and the enclosure. If you don't mind a little DIY then you can buy a bare drive and an enclosure separately. This saves a little money. If you have further questions at the time then talk to the staff at OWC's tech support. They are knowledgeable and helpful.

  • What type of connection should i use?

Not sure if i should i post this here or web tier api's, but here goes...
I have a servlet in a tomcat webserver and i want it pass information between it and a standard j2se application running on the same machine.
I'm not sure what type of connection i should use?
    DataStream?
    Socket?
    HttpConnection?
    Any other recommended method?
Or if i need a network connection like that at all?
    Thanks for the help

The most straightforward method would be to use rmi since both are running java. that is the least amount of work on your part in terms of managing connections and data marshalling. any of the other solutions add more burdens in one or both of these areas.

  • What type of partition should I use? Range or Hash or ..?

    Hi,
    I am on Oracle 8.1.7.4 .
I have a table with 10 million rows and looks like its a good candidate for partitioning.
There is a varchar2 column and the data is evenly distributed on the string value. If I want to partition the table on that string value what type of partitioning can I use. How can I give the range, if I use range partition, on the string value ?
    Can/Should I use hash partitioning?
I know that there is a list partitioning in O9i, but I am on 8i.
    Please help.
    Regards

Table volume, in itself, is not enough to warrant partitioning … hope you have some other reasons.
    <quote>
… but would like to partition the table on the mentioned varchar2 column, so that queries would be efficiant.
    </quote>
Since you don’t mention the actual query or class of queries, maybe it is worth mentioning that partitioning could speed up some queries but also can slow down a lot more other queries.
    <quote>
So, how can i re-create the table partitioned on a varchar2 column
    </quote>
No different than numbers or dates?
    create table tp
    ( str   varchar2(10)  not null
    ,fill  char(20)      not null
    partition by range(str)
    ( partition p1 values less than ('F')
,partition p2 values less than ('L')
,partition p3 values less than ('R')
,partition p4 values less than (maxvalue)
    insert into tp
    select substr(object_name,1,10), lpad('x',20,'x')
    from user_objects
    flip@FLOP> select * from tp partition (p2);
    STR        FILL
    F1         xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    GENERATE_R xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
IPSDEV.US. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxThe link to Tom’s article is fine … it just happens to be one of the few threads he’s not mentioning that partitioning is not the magic fast=true mechanism … look for some other articles on partitioning and you’ll quickly discover his views on this subject.
There may be a case for partitioning … but you haven’t presented any reasonable justification for it … so, why bother?

  • What type of repeater should I use with my new Airport Extreme?

what type of repeater should I use with my new Airport Extreme? Thanks.

If you want to repeat both bands of your dual band AirPort Extreme, another AirPort Extreme would meet these requirements.
If you only need to extend one of the bands that the AriPort Extreme provides, then an Airport Express would do that nicely.

  • What type of Data target is used when the safety interval is used?

    Hi ,
what type of Data target is used when the safety interval is used in generic delta in datasource?DSO or cube  or cube?
    Pls explain me ?
    Thanks,
    Nimai

It's up to your reporting requirement to go for dso or cube..
I prefer to having staging with DSO and then further reporting on Cube ..
It's always easier to manage when you have any changes to the cube .. you need not to extract data from R/3 .. if you have dso you can extract directly to cube
Another thing is -for any reason some of your records got corrupted so you can have full loads to dso which has the overwrite functionality...  and sends delta records to cube. even in cube you can do selective deletion but we have to very careful to avoid double records in next loads

  • What type of pen do you use to take notes on a notetaking app like enotebook

What type of pen do you use on your ipad for a handwriting app like enotebook?

You want what's called a stylus. There are a huge variety of styli available; just make sure that the one you get works with iPad (pretty much all of them will say they work with iPad on the packaging). I personally just grabbed the cheapest one at Staples, but you can see a bunch of styli here: http://www.theverge.com/2012/4/10/2925937/best-stylus-ipad-review

I have a new IMac with usb 3 ports. What type of cable do I use for conncting on older usb 1 device?

AFAIK, use the USB 3.0 port to the printer. It should be backward compatible. If not, return the useless computer or get a new printer.

What apple store App would be used to read email on the mac that was downloaded to a thumb drive from windows outlook.
Recently purchased a Mac and data transfer for e-mails only showed the email preview but does not open up the body of the email or attachments.  So I down loaded my inbox, and folders to a thumb drive.  this will open correctly on the window pc but the mac is looking for the approriate app to read this data.
Could the Apple store remove down loaded emails and then reload from the thumb drive?

    EL-Benjo,
Please be sure to read the Important Note at the bottom of the page of the link I provided.

When you install OS X Lion using the USB thumb drive, you will not be able to reinstall OS X Lion from Lion Recovery. You will need to use the USB thumb drive to reinstall OS X Lion.

  • What kind of printer would you use to print on a lorry?

    Hi,
One of my client sells items from the lorry, so he wants his drivers to print invoices on the way. My question is what kind of printer would you use to print on a lorry? Any idea, experience?
    Thx in advance,
    Laci

    Hi Laci,
There are quite a few mobile printers, for example HP does a range of battery powered Officejet printers which you could use on the go. For instance, check this out:

    I hope this helps!

  • What type of class would I create for this?

I want users to extend a class which has the following methods that are implemented:
getters (optional if they use or not)
    setters - must use
various types of methods - must use
Arraylist of a specific optic (hence the setter).
I dont think there is such a class from what i remember from school. I know abstract classes will do the whole "implemented methods" part.
Such a class would be used for people to create new objects that is used to build "extensions" to an existing application
Currently I am using an interface but I know that wont do the job for the array list part.
Or - am I looking at this all wrong?

I'm also not sure what the ArrayList (or List, as I suggested in your other thread) is trying to accomplish. Is it supposed to be some "global" collection that keeps track of all extensions anyone has defined? If so, I reckon that it properly belongs in an 'Application' object, and that clients "register" their extension with the Application; however, I'm not at all sure you actually need to do that.
Or - am I looking at this all wrong?I think you need to explain your problem further. What is the type that clients are supposed to extend? What are you using the List for?
Also, inheritance is only one way of creating extensions; and it's not always the best because it tends to create rigid hierarchies that are difficult to change later on. You might also want to read up on composition, Wrappers and the Decorator Pattern.

  • What type of DVD should I use for Windows Backup?

I am wanting to do my Windows Backup and I was wondering what type of DVD media I should use. Is it better to use a RW or only R type DVD.
    I have an HP Omni 220-1180qd, A5W89AV#ABA, running Win7 64 bit.
I thought I read it can use CD's, DVD's but I want to know which would be the better choice.
Thanks for any help and all help is appreciated.
    This question was solved.

Honestly, an external hard drive would be a better choice. The difference between +R and +R/W is that +R is "Recordable" and +R/W is "Re-Writable". If you intend on making periodic backups, go with an extrernal hard drive... If you intend on making very few backups, consider the DVD+R discs.

  • Whats types of inputs can be used with DAQ 6527? (PNP or NPN)

I need to know what types of input device (PNP or NPN) can be used with a DAQ 6527.

    Greetings,
The digital inputs of the 6527 require TTL signals. As long as your device, whether it be a pnp or npn transistor, outputs a TTL signal, it will be compatible.
