What type of files are included as document and data on my iphone

what type of files are included as document and data on my iPhone.  These files are showing a considerable amount of data being used but I don't know what type of things are included in this??

Hello dsouz,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand wanting to know what data is being stored in Documents & Data and how to manage that space. You can view and remove what is being stored there using the instructions located in the attached article.
iCloud: Remove documents from iCloud
WARNING:    When you delete items that are stored in iCloud, they are removed from all your devices immediately and permanently.
Remove iCloud documents using your iOS device
On an iOS device set up for iCloud Documents & Data, do one of the following:
With iOS 8: Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage, then tap Manage Storage.
With iOS 7: Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup, then tap Manage Storage.
Under Documents & Data, tap the app that has a document you want to delete, then tap Edit.
Best regards,
Joe

  • What types of samples are included with the EXSP?

I'm considering purchasing Logic Express, but wanted to know what types of samples (orchestral, synth, drum, keyboard, etc) are included with the EXSP player. Can anyone owning Logic Express tell me what types of samples are included?
    Mac G5   Mac OS X (10.3)

    Hello, Jeb247.
This is merely a matter of personal opinion, but I believe that the included samples for EXSP are among the better features of the program. Granted, there are some cases where you have several instruments loosely based on the same samples run through different filters, but you are likely to find a decent array of what you need.
You get all the Garageband instruments, as well as the ability to load the Jam Packs into EXSP. While the following list probably contains some overlap with those samples, it will still give you an idea of what's out there:
The top-level hierarchy lists 41 different groups of sounds. After each listing, I'll note the approximate number of 'instruments' in each group:
    Piano (10)
    Guitars (11)
    Bass (5)
    Strings (9)
    Horns & Winds (9)
    Ethnic Instruments (2)
    Voices & Choir (3)
    Drum Kits (12)
    Effects(~50)
    Percussion & Specials (2)
    Analog: Bass (45), Leads (20), Pads (17), Percussive Waves (44), SpectrumSQ (25), Sweeps (30), Synthcomp (33), Waveforms (50+)
Digital Chromatic Kits (12), Initial Waveforms (60+), Motion & FX (36), Pad Synths (46), Percussive Waves (23), Synths (31)
    FM Bass (17)
Synth Atmospheres Layers (31), Singles (40)
    Synth Bass (45), Brass (12), Chords (21), Leads & Hooks (30), LFO Synths (21), Multi Sequence (6), Pads (44), Percussive Synths (44), Poly (28), Sidechain Chords (14), Spacious Effects (40), Strings (16), Sweeps & Swells (32), Vocalish (25)
Now, as to the quality of the sounds... your mileage may vary. For orchestral stuff, nothing appeals to my ears like the Kurzweil -- largely because of those smooooooooooth output filters. That's not to say that the EXSP stuff isn't worth checking out; I just happen to use it for electronic textures and percussion rather than acoustic emulations. The drums simply don't cut it for me -- not nearly enough punch. But -- as I've mentioned before, you ears may report different pleasure levels.
Suffice it to say that the EXSP comes with a substantial array of music-making potential. For the money (a freebie w/ Logic Express) it's a really good deal. Shortcomings in its sound set can be overcome by the careful purchase of additional material where your ears report unsatisfactory sounds. If you don't like the drums, iDrum or Battery might be a good idea (or my personal favorite: an outboard drum machine with dead-short latency...); if the orchestra stuff is weak, there are alternatives there, too.
And your options for synth textures are beyond counting -- though I can specifically recommend the utterly astounding (and free!) Alphakanal "Automat". And you can have a pile of fun with the (equally free) NUSofting daHornet. And... and... the list goes on.
    Cheers,
    Michael

  • How do you know what type of file is included in the 'Other' section?

This is in regards to the capacity section in the summary tab of my ipod info. I have reached full capacity and cannot add any more songs to my ipod so would like to delete any unnecessary files. I have deleted all photos, most movies and TV shows. Only have a few movies and music videos in the Movies section.
Is there any way of finding out which files are included in the orange 'Other' section? Help!

My son is having this same problem. He only has 64 songs on his iPod Touch so far, but the "other" space has almost filled the iPod. He has no photos, other than the usual album artwork, no videos, notes, contacts, etc. and has erased all podcasts. We don't see "enable disk use" on the Summary page when he connects the iPod to iTunes. So we don't know if disk use has been enabled or not. I also can't find it in the Help topics. Where do we locate the disk option to see if it's turned on? He doesn't want to Restore as he will lose the upgrade and have to purchase it again. He uses a PC, if that makes a difference.
    Thanks for any insight.

  • What is Documents and Data on my iPhone 4 and how do I delete it?

When I plug my iPhone 4 into my Mac is tells me that Documents and Data is taking up 2.63GB of storage. I have no idea what this is and it is taking up more storage than any of my other tabs (Music, Apps, Photos etc.) I would like to clear this storage to make room for photos and music. I would also like to know where this is coming from.

    Try this:

  • How to delete documents and data off of iphone 4s

Im trying to free up some room on my phone. I got rid of some apps and movies and did what i can but when i plug my phone in there is more Documents & data then i have as apps and music. i just want to get ride of some documents that are saved in my phone but  dont now hot to delete them.

Document & Data on iPhone is junks files including browser history, cookies, logs, caches of photos and videos, database files stored by your apps. You’ll notice that some apps while being very small themselves have accumulated a lot of data. An example of this is shown in the image below, you see that the Facebook app is 109 MB whereas the Documents & Data stored is 1.2 GB. This 1.2 GB is what goes into your “Other” data.
These apps on iPhone don’t provide a way to delete Documents and Data, uninstalling and reinstalling the app is not the best option here. With the help of CleanMyPhone or PhoneClean you can delete the documents and data on iPhone without deleting the app itself.

  • How to delete documents and data from your iphone

iphone 5s has a lot of things listed in "documents and data" section- and in the "other" section of itunes when updating phone- is there a way to know what is on there so i can delete it?  itunes does not give more information...

These are 2 different things and have to be address 2 different ways.
The other, that shows up in iTunes on the bar is memory the device is not recovering, for what every reason.
To reclaim that you need to wipe the iPhone and setup as new.
The Documents and Data in the iCloud storage.
Tap the Doc or data type
then swipe right to left on the data and press delete

  • How do I delete documents and data on the iPhone 5?

I've been seeing responses such as turning it off, so I did. However I didnt change my memory at all and when I found out whats using it up it was message with (saved) next to it. So i deleted some conversations from other contacts, but it barely dropped to like 1 GB. I check and check to see what else is being used up and music I don't have a problem with and I always delete pics and apps, like google drive. Can someone tell me how can i delete even more of documents and data?

  • What type of files are in "Other" under "System Information Storage" on MacBook Pro?

    Hi happy folks,
I need to clear up space on my MacBook Pro. When I open System Information and click on Storage, it says that 200G of my 250G are taken up by "Other." Not photos, not movies, not apps. I don't have that many documents. What constitutes this massive Other and how can I clear off some of this space?
    Thanks!

  • What types of files are compatible with iMovie?

I'm doing a project and it says that it doesn't support .mov files.
    Please help!

First, will your MOV file open in QuickTime Player? If so, press Command-I to open the Inspector and tell us everything you see there next to the word "Format".
An MOV file is a container, not a codec. If it contains a codec that iMovie can handle then it will work. iMovie can handle Apple Intermediate Codec, AVCHD, h.264, MP4 (most flavors), Apple Animation, Motion JPEG/A, DV, iFrame, and I am probably leaving out a few.
In addition, iMovie does not work well with MOV files that contain extra tracks such as closed captioning tracks or chapter markers. This was true in iMovie 09, but I have not tried it in iMovie 11 so this may have changed.

  • What type of Fonts are compatible between Mac and PC?

    Hello all:
I work in InDesign primarily from a Windows based PC. I occasionally do some work on a Mac as well. I have a mixture of font type I use (TTF, OpenType etc) on my PC. I know a lot of font types are not compatible between PC and Mac. My questions is, are OpenType fonts compatible with Mac?
What suggestions would you give to people working on two platforms as to how to best manage their font library (short of buying two versions of the same fonts)?
    Thanks.

OpenType and Windows TrueType fonts are usable on both Windows and MacOS X. Windows Type 1 fonts can be used with Adobe applications on both Windows and MacOX X (although on the Macintosh, the Windows Type 1 fonts must be put into the Creative Suite's private font directory).
Macintosh Type 1 and TrueType fonts cannot be used on Windows systems under any condition.
Going forward, for cross-platform compatibility, at Adobe we would strongly recommend exclusive use of OpenType fonts, thus avoiding the need for purchasing more than one version of any font.

  • What is the next step after editing or triming a video ? What type of file format to save and what to do after that ?

what is the next step after editing or triming a video?
what type of file format should be save and what to do after that?

In the early days of digital video editing, an export render could take hours!  Not many applications are as hard on system resources as video editing, and rendering the final edit is probably the most system intense action of all.
Head on over to the Premiere Pro Hardware forum to see what sort of computer hardware the pros use for NLE (non linear editing), or to the PPBM5 site for a better look.

  • Document and data deleted by mistake

I accidentally deleted my Goodnotes files from setting→icloud→document and data, and found that all the notes stored in the Goodnotes application have also been deleted. These notes are very important for my work, could anyone tell me how can I restore my notes? I use a ipad air and windows 7 pc. Thank you very much for your help.

The only way to get those documents back is to restore your iPad from a backup, either from iTunes on your computer or from iCloud:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
or if you saved the documents to your computer, copying them back through iTunes. If you did not have a backup and did not transfer the documents to your computer, then unless they are somewhere else such as in Dropbox, they're gone.
    Regards.

  • Do iOS apps that are ONLINE translators (e.g requires Wifi or internet, such as Google Translate) store every translation you type in the Documents and Data files?

I have several apps that are translators. Many of them are for offline use, (especially ones that cost money) but they keep eating away at my memory with every translation I type. What about the ONLINE translators, like GOOGLE TRANSLATE? Do they store the translations inthe app's Documents and Data, or not at all? Please help me! I'm dying to know! Also, does Google Translate charge you money for unlimited translations, or is it entirely free?

No no no, thank you. However, I learned just now that "flash storage" does not equal "Documents and Data" because I noticed that the Documents and Data for Google Translate increases very slighty with every translation (faster if speaking the translation). But this doesn't bother me at all. Why? Becuz the app size is oh so small (2.3 MB) & every translator (all 50+ of them) is included for free (how dope is that?) without having to download any additional memory for each language. So when the time comes to delete and redownload it due to memory capacity shortage, it still requires only 2 MB to redownload it. I bet that won't harm my device at all. Hey, I can live with that!
Thanks for your support for my question, Deggie, kudos!!!

  • In tune show all summary activity during sync between nb and apple device. One of the summary is memory space status. Audio mayb3gb, photo 2gb, app with 3gb. What is other? Other consist of what type of file?

In tune show all summary activity during sync between nb and apple device. One of the summary is memory space status. Audio mayb3gb, photo 2gb, app with 3gb. What is other? Other consist of what type of file? It show quite substantial storage capacity?? Anyone can answer what is in other??

"Other" includes data such as contact information and photos assigned to contacts, calendar events, Safari bookmarks/cookies/history, notes created with the Notes application, SMS messages, email stored locally or cached, and 3rd party application data created and stored by the application.
If "other" is more than say .75GB at the most, you had a corrupt sync. Try syncing again and if the problem persists, the recognized fix for this is to restore your iPad.
