What type of RAM configuration?

The new aluminum iMac comes with 2 slots for RAM. Now, default RAM is 1 gigabyte. Does the new iMac come with two 512 megabyte cards or one 1 gigabyte card?

I just got the iMac 20-inch a few weeks ago and it has the 1GB Ram stick in it. I ordered Final Cut Studio 2 and was playing in Motion when it locked my computer up. A friend of mine also has motion and he said he has 2 GB of Ram and Motion works fine on that. Should I get another 1GB stick or just get 4GB of Ram sticks? If Motion will right fine with 2 GB then thats all I need.
What should I do?

What type of RAM should I buy for Satellite S1800-412 ?

I have a 1.10Ghz processor and 240MB of RAM but my laptop is struggling with speed, so I am thinking adding extra RAM might be the best solution.

I have been researching this online for a while now and the more i read the more I get confused. I have a late 2011 MacBook Pro 13 inch , i5, 2.4GHz, 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3. I want to upgrade to either 8GB or 16GB but I do not know if there is a certain type I need to get. I have heard that OWC, Corsair etc. have been good names. Can someone help me with what specific memory I need to get? Does it have to be 1333 MHz. I am clueless. Someone please help this computer illiterate girl. Obviously, video, sound and complex image editing will require the most resources. Buy a device that has plenty of physical and RAM memory, the fastest processor and best video card you can afford.

i have the early 2011 macbook pro 13" that came with the 2,3ghz i5 and 4 gb of ram, and i wanted to upgrade the memory, i know that i can put in up to 16 gb of ram and that it cant be any faster than 1333mhz,, but does it matter if i put in PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333) , PC3-10660 (DDR3-1333mhz) or PC3-10666 (DDR3-1333)

everywhere i look online, says my ms-6528 only supports pc-133 sdram, even in my manual, it says only pc-133 sdram, but on the box itself i have, it says supports pc-133sdram & ddr sdram. so is this a typo, or do they mean its built for pc-133 OR ddr? thanks

What the? I've got the exact same mainboard (MS-6528 LE) and the box says "Supports either SDR SDRAM up to 3GB or DDR SDRAM up to 2GB". This seems to me that there would be two separate types of slots, one for the SDR and one for DDR. However, looking on the website and looking even in the manual, it says nothing about DDR. I'm looking to buy some DDR SDRAM for Christmas, so is it not going to fit in the board? Jeez, this seems like a ripoff. Buy the board because it says it can handle DDR, and now I fing out the box was lying!

Open your computer's user manual which has a section on adding Memory. I believe it should be:
2 - 204-pin PC3-8500 (1066MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMMs.

OK. So I'm just finding out now that my 1.25Ghz eMac is actually capable of running with 2 GBs of RAM, rather than the 1GB max that Apple publishes.
Assuming that this will actually work, it is welcome news for me.
1. Are there any problems that I should expect to see?
2. Exactly what type of RAM sticks should I be looking for?
[I know they're 184 PIN. It also looks like I should be asking for "PC2700", whatever that means.]
3. Are there any other labels that I need to make sure the RAM I buy has?
4. Is it possible to get a 1GB "184 PIN PC2700" RAM stick with that won't work in my eMac's RAM slots?
5. How unreliable is used RAM?

I too am in Toronto. I have been using Macs for more than 2 decades; and shopped around for the best deals for just about everything in the way of Mac parts.
Regardless of where you buy, PST and GST are added to whatever price is listed, thus the extra cost of buying elsewhere is the shipping.
For RAM, I have had excellent results buying from Ramdirect. So much so that I no longer even bother to compare prices. (For the record, I have no relationship of any kind with the company other than as a satisfied customer.) Even with the shipping cost added, I was not able to do better for price.

I am wanting to increase ram in my Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 (PSLB1A-01L019. it has 1gb of ram at the moment. 2.00GHz and CPU 550.
I opened the back of the laptop and found 1 slot but can't find the other one -where is it?! and how do I get at it?

Can anyone point me to the correct type of RAM to purchase for a MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009)?

I have a MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009) that recently had some problems and I was forced to reinstall OSX and ended up upgrading to Yosemite (I was previously using Mavericks). Unfortunately I did not realize how much OSX 10.10 would slow down my computer, so I'm looking to upgrade my RAM from 4GB to 8GB to help resolve this. However, I don't really have a good idea what type of RAM I need aside from the fact that it needs to be 1066 MHz. I was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction as to what the exact type of RAM I need to purchase or possibly link me to a site where I could buy what I require. I know some people claim third party RAM doesn't work as well as memory that is made and/or sold by apple but I would prefer to go with whatever is cheapest.

A 15" mid-2009 MBP RAM specifications are: 204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM.
As has been pointed out, OWC is an excellent source for Mac compatible RAM. Crucial is another first rate source for Mac RAM. RAM from either vendor will work just as well as any purchased from Apple with the bonus of being less expensive and having a lifetime guarantee.
