What type of table is E Fact table

Hi Experts,
please let me know What type of table is E Fact table??
Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,
A cube has 2 fact tables - E and F. When the requests are loaded in the cube the data exists in the F fact table This table contains the Request ID. and when the requests are compressed the data lies in the E fact table.
When the requests are compressed all the request ids are lost(set to NULL) and you would not be able to select/delete the data by request id. The data in the E fact table is compressed and occupies lesser space than F fact table.
assign points if this helps,
Thanks,
Sudhakar

  • What type of tables are stored in TVDIR ???

    Hi Experts,
I have created one custom table " ZEMPLOYEE ". I activated it succesfully without any type errors. But it is not found in this table TVDIR.
What might be the reason ? <b>What type of tables are stored in TVDIR ???</b>
    Regards,
    V.Raghavender.

    Hi Raghava,
TVDIR stores the tables and views which has <b>table maintainance generator</b>.
We can create table maintainance generator using <b>sm30</b> TCODE.
If you create table maintainance generator for your table then there will be an entry of your table in TVDIR.

  • Exporting Parameter of type 'INDEX TABLE'

    Hi Experts,
there is a standard method CL_CRM_MKTPL_OL_TRADE->GET_TRADESPENDS in CRM which has an exporting parameter ET_TRADESPENDS of type INDEX TABLE. Could somebody give me a hint on how to call this method and work with the data that is returned? I am assuming that I will need field symbols for this, correct? Coding examples would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jens

    Hi Jens,
INDEX TABLE is a generic type. The data object expected depends on configuration and/or context. As we don't have any CRM system I can check CL_CRM_MKTPL_OL_TRADE->GET_TRADESPENDS I can't give you the details.
I have some experience with comparable methods in SAP Transportation Managament which uses the BOPF framework. In program context, we know what type of table structure will be expected, so we defined a local table accordingly and passed it to the ET parameter.
If you don't have any idea on how to find out, just declare any internal table, i.e-lt_test  type table of string. Then call the method with parameter ET_TRADESPENDS = lt_test. This will dump for sure. Enter debugger and check what kind of data are returned. From the field names you may get a clue what structure it could be. Dump analysis may also provide some info.

  • What type of internal table should I use based from my scenario...

    Hello Experts,
I am currently having a dillema here because I am trying to optimize a certain
part of a report where in the internal table contains around 300,000 lines of
records. The original internal table is of type standard table. So what the original
programmer did was to delete certain records in a given condition then sort it
by fields 1 and 2 in ascending order. Now, it then loops through that internal table
but gives run time error because it exceeded the limit in our prod server which is only 10 mins.
Now what I did was to try modifying the internal table to make it of type sorted. This is to eliminate
the sort statement. I dont know if what I am doing is right. Help would be greatly appreciated and
rewarded. Thanks a lot guys and take care!

    data: ls_itab  type t_itab,
lt_itab  type  hashed table of t_itab  with unique key field1 field2.
select pernr ename into table lt_itab  from pa0001.

  • What is the table for checking billing types assigned to sales orders

    Hi Folks,
    Good morning!
Could you please help me how to check the billing types assigned to sales documents.
What is the table to see billing types assigned to sales documents.
    Regards,
    Sarath

    Hello Sarath,
As mentioned by Siva in the above the table name is TVAK but if you are a functional guy then you should go by the functional assignment. We are assigning the default billing type in Tcode= VOV8.
All sales document control you can find over here.
Needless to mention this Billing type you are assigning over here is auto proposed during billing in VF01. But you have option to choose another billing type in VF01 itself considering you have maintained the Copy Control for that.
    Thanks,

As the cliche goes, "Great minds think alike "
Out of the 94 hits for table types i could have chosen BAPIRET2TAB, BAPIRET2_TT, BAPIRET2_TAB etc. but as luck would have it i chose BAPIRET2_T.

  • Creating table without creating domain n dataelement(what type of data is)?

is it possible to create table without creating domain n dataelement
for what thoose tables are used for(what type of datait holds?)

Yes it is possible to create a table without domains and data tables.
Enter the table name and click on CREATE. On the next screen click on "Predefined types" button. This will gray out the data element column and open the columns data type, length, decimals and text columns for input. You need to specify the data type details in these columns.
Even though it is possible to create the table in the above fashion I would suggest you create data elements and domains for all the fields.

  • What are the tables will update while loading Master data ?

    Hello Experts,
What are the tables will update while loading Master data ? And requesting you to provide more information about Master data loading and its related settings in the beginning of creation infoobjects.

It depends upon the type of Master data u r loading....
In all the master data loadings, for every new value of master data an SID will be created in the SID table /BI*/S<INFOOBJECT NAME> irrespective of the type of master data.
But the exceptional tables that get updated depending on the type of master data are.....
If it is a time Independent master data then the /BI*/P<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated with the loaded data.
If it is a time dependent master data then the /BI*/Q<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated with the loaded data.
If the master data is of time Independent Navigational attributes then for every data load the SID table will get updated first and then the /BI*/X<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated with the SID's created in the SID table (NOT WITH THE MASTER DATA).
If the master data is of time dependent navigational attributes then for every data load the SID table will get updated first and then the /BI*/Y<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated with the SID's created in the SID table (NOT WITH THE MASTER DATA).
NOTE: As said above, For all the data in P, Q, T, X, Y tables the SID's will be created in the S table /BI*/S<INFOOBJECT NAME>
NOTE: Irrespective of the time dependency or Independency the VIEW /BI*/M<INFOOBJECT NAME> defined on the top of /BI*/P<INFOOBJECT NAME> & /BI*/Q<INFOOBJECT NAME> tables gives the view of entire master data.
NOTE: it is just a View and it is not a Table. So it will not have any physical storage of data.
All the above tables are for ATTRIBUTES
But when it comes to TEXTS, irrespective of the Time dependency or Independency, the /BI*/T<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated (and of course the S table also).
    Naming Convention: /BIC/*<InfoObject Name> or /BI0/*<InfoObject Name>
    C = Customer Defined Characteristic
0 = Standard or SAP defined Characteristic
    * = P, Q, T, X,Y, S (depending on the above said conditions)
    Thanks & regards
