  • What kind of information can I put on the Historical Byte in ATR?

    Hello all,
Which information can I put on the Historical Byte in ATR?
I found some information in the GP spec, like basic channel and card recognition data.
Could you let me know more specifically?
    Thank you very much,
    Julie.

Normally, historical byte contains information about the life cyle state of the card, i.e. when the card is pre-personalized or personalized, etc.? This is the intent of the historical bytes, but again it is upto the smart card vendor to put the type of the data in it.

  • What type of expansions can be put in Mac Pro's

I've owned MBP and iMac but now I own a Mac Pro and I want to know what kinds of things can the system be expanded with besides HD, extra super drives. I need some ideas here, this is actually my very first tower computer and this is all new to me. I'm using the computer for video and some music. I hear of people installing Blu Ray but I thought Macs do not support them, I've heard of this e-sata thing, and I've heard of people putting different graphic cards. Give me some insight if you guys and girls don't mind.

You'd be surprised...! People come to Mac Pro not knowing how much RAM their apps will benefit from, or how to configure primary scatch, or never used any type of RAID and not sure what it means, and want to use mirror for their backup.
Of course then we get to, "if you have to ask if you need Mac Pro or not, or could get by with a _____" the general snap is, "if you have to ask, then you don't need one" too.
Or they get into these FW hubs and daisy chain and run into all sorts of problems as a result; or don't know that eSATA/USB/FW may not be native SATA.
The first time I got into SCSI controller, and first time it was a real option, I had a headache for months going over Ultra2 vs Ultra160.

  • What  type of items can I put on iCloud's free 5GB storage?

Hello. I have an iPhone 4S. I use iCloud and I found out that it gives you free 5GBs. I am pretty close to filling up my storage on the phone itself, so, I was wondering if I could use the free 5GBs that comes with iCloud to put, say for example, more music or more apps on my iPhone. Is that possible?

No, you can't add anything you purchased in iTunes to your iCloud storage, anything you purchased in iTunes, movies excepted is already elsewhere in the cloud and if you want to use that content and it's not already on your phone you can download it from the purchased section of the music app.

  • What type of videos can I play on my iPod Touch?

I want to sync some videos from my windows vista laptop to my iPod Touch 4g, the videos I want to sync are .mov so I thought that sence .mov is from apple it would be possible but when I tried to sync the video by going to my iTunes on my pc and connecting my iPod, then clicking Photos and choosing the folder where the video was then clicking sync it said that it could not be synced. So please help did I try to sync the video the wrong way or does the video have to be a different format? And if so how do I convert the video with out changing the quality? Please help!

QT uses for ever, and you loose the sound on most .mpg videos.
Download iSquint, it can't be done any easier:

Just choose "optimized for iPod screen" and "Automaticly add to iTunes".

  • What type of monitors can I use with the Mac Mini?

    Hello,
I was thinking on purchasing a Mac Mini. I was not sure if the monitor I have at work with function with the Mac Mini. It is a: 20" ViewSonic Professional Series P815...
Does anyone know if this monitor will work with any Mac Mini? Is there an adapter for it?
    Thanks.

It would be fine for them all - all minis have come with DVI video connectors and adapters to convert that to VGA, so aside from the possibility that the Viewsonic might suffer the greyish or dull screen problem that affected a small(ish) proportion of displays with the first generation mini, it should connect up using the adapter just fine, and be correctly recognized by the system.

  • How many audible accounts can i put on the ipod classic 120?

How do I  get my iPod to allow me to put 3 Audible accounts on it?

Do you have the setting checked in your IPOD photo (tab) in ITUNES checked to save "High Rez" photos to the hard drive of your IPOD? This will make the difference. Then your ref of 2000 photos = 4 g might be a good measure.

  • Can someone confirm that the iPod nano 5th gen will play bought games?

Does the iPod nano 5th generation play games bought on iTunes Store for iPods with click-wheel? The iTunes Store says the games are for 3rd / 4th gen nanos and 5th gen iPods / iPod Classics. As the iPod nano 5th gen has a different aspect ratio / screen size to the older models, will these games work on it?
    Thanks!

  • Can I always keep the ipod in the Dock?

Can I always keep the ipod nano in it's dock when I'm not using it? Or does it take battery life? I turned it off while it was in the dock, and now it has a battery image on he screen. Does this use the nanos battery in any way, or should I unplug it from USB.

You probably shouldn't keep it in there for a while. It can overcharge, like a cellphone, and the battery won't last very long.
If it keeps showing the battery, restart it.
To restart, hold the middle button and menu at the same time for 10 seconds.
Try toggling the hold switch, too.

What type of movie files can I put on my Ipod Video?

the only formats that can be synced to the ipod video is .mov and .mp4.
you need to convert the videos to these formats using 3rd party software.
To use Videora iPod Convertor to convert movies for use on your iPod, consult these helpful links:

  • Is there any way to retrieve photos that were put in the trash can and then it was emptied?  Or is there a way to move photos from an imovie to iphoto?

Is there any way to retrieve photos that were put in the trash can and then it was emptied?  Or is there a way to move photos from an imovie to iphoto?

If you've emptied the trash, ehtn no. However if you have a backup, like Time Machine, or a recent backup copy of your photo library you could recover the photos from the trash.
The answer to getting a snapshot form iMovie depends on what version you have.
I should add it technically may be possible to recover the emptied trash, but if you really want to do that you would need to download a utility software that can attempt to recover deleted files. Do it soon before you start writing more data to that disk. At the moment I don't have a recommendation for such a program. Maybe someone else out there will offer suggestion.
