  • Which version do i need for kindle fire

which version of flash player do I need for kindle fire?

Adobe stopped ALL development of Flash for Android last year.
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html there are older versions of Flash Player (for Android) at that link, but there are no guarantees any of them will work.
    Check Android forums for alternatives.

I've read a lot about "Dolphin" for Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser
I'm not an Android user (no tablet or phone) so I can't make any endorsements that would hold any credibility, but most of the Flash solutions I've read point to Dolphin as the best alternative.
Again, check Android forums: http://androidforums.com/ to see what their "gurus" recommend.

  • I have PSTouch v1.3. How to get v1.4 for Kindle Fire HD?

Hi, I bought PSTouch for my Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Tab, went through some of the tutorials, and went to Adobe Headquarters in San Francico when they gave a very good demo on it.
So, I've paid the $9.95 and have enjoyed it.  (It seems to behave differently now that my Samsung 10.1 Tab was upgraded from Honeycomb to Ice Cream Sandwich but that's a side issue.)
BUT, the main thing -- I have a Kindle Fire HD 7" and my 8.9" version is coming next week.
Google Play tells me that the PS Touch app (they are on v1.3 and the KFire version is v1.4)  is compatible with my Samsung 10.1 and is already installed.
Amazon says its v1.4 version is compatible with my Kindle Fire HD 7" and my Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Tab (and I've paid for the latter).
The Google Play site will not recognize Amazon Kindle Fires of any type.   Therefore, the only way for me to get this latest v1.4 for Kindle Fire HD at Amazon is to pay Amazon *another* $9.95 to be able to download this v1.4 update.
Is there ANY way that you know of that I can just get the v1.4 update for my Kindle Fire without paying a 2nd time for PS Touch?  Thanks.

Hello. I felt the same frustration a couple of weeks ago- after downloading what was supp.-to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. So I opted for FF 3.6 at, at least until I could decipher FF4 - which I still have not! As I recall, I simply Googled : Firefox 3.6 or Firefox 3.6 version downloads and a link for that version was listed.

    A word of caution:
the Amazon Appstore checks for Kindle Fire support AFTER it accepts app updates.  So a developer can unknowingly break KF support, and still get app updates accepted into the store!
Here is an e-mail I just sent to Amazon's KF team:
FYI, there is a significant loophole in your submission pipeline:
    1) All my apps use Adobe AIR.
    2) For the longest time, they were all compiled with AIR 2.7 so there was no problem.  I got a bunch of downloads, including from Kindle Fire users.
    3) A week ago, I updated most of my apps to AIR 3.1, and broke Kindle Fire support, without my realizing it, because I didn't know that the KF only supports AIR 2.7.  Unfortunately, all the updates with broken KF support were accepted into the store!!!
    4) Now I am getting users complaining that their apps no longer work on Kindle Fire.
What should have happened: NONE of the updates should have been accepted after it was realized by your review team that they broke Kindle Fire support, while previous versions worked fine on it and KF users downloaded them.  Reviewing KF support separately, after the initial review/acceptance, is not a good process!
In any case, I have re-submitted all my apps with the release note 'Restored Kindle Fire support'.  What I did was use 'captive runtime' for compiling all my AIR 3.1 apps, which normally means that the app will not require an external AIR runtime to function.  Hopefully, this will work this time.  If not, I am going to have to re-compile everything using AIR 2.7, which is a major drag since some of the features I depended on are part of AIR 3.1.

  • Flex mobile app for Kindle Fire?  is it possible?

Hi, I read this in the kindle amazon developer faq, is it possible to develop Flex 4.6 mobile apps for Kindle fire?  even thought it doesn't show up in the
    list of devices?
any Gotcha's I need to look out for?
Is Adobe AIR pre-installed on Kindle Fire?
Yes, developers can publish Adobe AIR 3 applications for the Kindle Fire by packaging them as ‘captive runtime’ applications. However, these captive runtime applications will not support on-device debugging.
    thanks,

  • What version of flash for kindle fire hd

I am trying to download flash for my kindle fire he. there are several versions to choose from, which one for my kindle?

Adobe Flash does not work  the Kindle Fire HD or any Android v4+ devices.  Amazon blames it on Adobe and Adobe blames it on uncertified devices (
http://blogs.adobe.com/flashplayer/2012/06/flash-player-and-android-update.html).  There are lots of comments and instructions for sideloads of previous browser versions in the cyber universe.  But, alas,  loyal users of flash and amazon just get left out in the cold.

  • SDK component Runtime.apk is out of date export captive build for Kindle Fire

    Hello
Kindle fire only supports AIR 2.7 and I'm trying to export a build release in Flash Builder 4.7 with the AIR runtime included (captive build). Whenever I build I get the following error:
SDK component at air/android/device/Runtime.apk is out of date
I tried running the updater and it said I'm up to date. I did download the SDK and put it in my home folder but I can't seem to change the SDK reference in the preferences.
(I had another java out of memory error including my ANE file but I turned it off just to get a build out. Not the focus of this discussion)
It would be nice if flash builder just let me reference my freshly downloaded SDK but instead I have to sift through their document structure guessing where I should be updating the Runtime.apk that SHOULD be up to date already.
I have had to go in to the package itself and modify the ini files and over-write the adb files from the fresh download of the SDK before.
I'm guessing there is a way to update the Runtime.apk but i have so many bin executables spread all of my computer it's hard to tell what flash builder wants!!!
There is always one problem after another developing with Flash Builder ... Please help.

Just be sure you've downloaded the correct AIR 3.6 SDK specific to Flash Builder! On this page: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/air-sdk-download.html in small print is this note:
Note : Flex users will need to download the original AIR SDK without the new compiler. Mac Windows.
Be sure to install the appropriate sdk if you're using Flex in your mobile project. Otherwise the main download will work with ActionScript only projects in Flash Builder 4.7
Can you confirm you installed the correct SDK? Also with ANEs, it's important to identify what version of AIR the ANE supports.
If you still run into trouble with your current configuration, try building a new mobile project and export release build with captive runtime and see if it compiles correctly. If it does, then it's going to be a problem with your current project, and I'd look at how the ANE is packaged. See if there's documentation on how to include the ANE, etc. If you still can't compile a blank mobile project, then your AIR installation is incorrect.
