What version of Adobe Media Server would fit our needs?

Hello. We are considering doing HTTP video streaming on our intranet. We have approximately 500 employees and would want to be able to stream approximately 10 - 50 one-way connections at one time. What version of Adobe Media Server would you recommend to support this?
After reading more about streaming, we would probably want to support the progressive download method.

But it can't create PDF files...

  • Quelle version d'adobe media server ai-je besoin

    Bonjour,

    Hello there,
I need Adobe Flash Media Server software to broadcast live content on the web pages of my site.
The content is delivered through Adobe Media Encoder to the Flash Media Server server and displayed on a web page with a video player.
I wanted to know if the standard version of the software will admit our need, or not.
We do not serve the purposes of Video On Demand service but knew Live video broadcast.
This content will be visible on a computer or on an iDevice, do not have flash.
We expect up to one hundred users connected simultaneously.
The standard version of the software it would suit our needs or should we turn to the professional or extended release and why.
In advance thank you for your answers!

  • Adobe Media Server 5 With Kevin Towes | Project Primetime | Adobe TV

Join Kevin Towes for a quick update on the latest version of Adobe Media Server.
    http://adobe.ly/Nii55w

I am producing web-tv/broadcasting live/live streaming. Still I want to have the full HD quality and adobe seems to offer that. What do i get if I purchase the Adobe Media Server 5 (the latest version of media server from adobe according to the info i have got).
I have innstalled adobe flaSH MEDIA LIVE ENCODER 3.2 but I need a server to be able to stream to my website then Adobe Media Server 5 (HTTP live streaming server for multiple devices) will be the best choice i expect but i can use others servers too together with the adobe flaSH MEDIA LIVE ENCODER 3.2,  right? Tell me in a clear and simple, correct way how I can do this but answer my questions first. Also tell me the price on the mentioned server (AMS 5) for one year. Is it any gigabyte limit on the AMS 5 and if yes whats the limit? Best regards Johnsen, Norway, North west europe

  • Questions on the capabilities of the Adobe media server and system requirements

    Hello
We need to send multiple video streams on different computers and screens in our organization. To do this, we need a dedicated server with the following functionality:
    - transmit up to ten (or even more) HD and FullHD streams simultaneously
    - manage playlists in real time without relaunching stream every time after adding items to the playlist
    - imposing of any text and video effects
    - use a variety of sources: a folder with pictures for the slideshow, video and audio files, video capture devices, video streaming from other resources
Is Adobe media server suitable for our tasks?
What are the system requirements (I do not mean minimum requierements)?
If we buy adobe media server, will it be enough? Or we will have to buy additional software products to provide all the necessary functionality?
    Thank you.

    1 and 2 is possible
    3 is not
4 AMS is not an encoder and does not encode or create streams. You have to use other software for that.Adobe FMLE is for live streaming...Use third part software like manycam(a virtual webcam on your machine) to generate video sources out of slide shows.

  • How to find out what version of Adobe/Flash Access you're running

To find out what version of Adobe Access server you’re running, do this:
    1.          Unzip (or unpack) your flashaccess.war file (it’s just a zip file)
    2.          Navigate to: \flashaccess\META-INF\
    3.          Open “MANIFEST.MF” and look for “Implementation-Version” for something like 3.0.0296
    4.          That is your Adobe/Flash Access version#
    cheers,
    /Eric.

When Pages is running, select Pages > About Pages.  The latest version that only runs on OS X Mavericks is 5.0.1.

  • Proxy between Flash Media Live Encoder and Adobe Media Server

    ciao,
I encode from a pc with Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder to a server with Adobe Media Server. And this configuration works well.
    The actual configuration is:
    1) computer A (es: 192.168.1.5 - gw 192.168.1.254) point to computer B
with FMS url: rtmp://COMPUTER_B_WAN_IP/live and StreamName
    test?user=useruser&password=userpassword
    2) computer B (es: 210.22.11.134) with Adobe Media Server
But now I need to encode from Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder (computer A) to a pc (computer P) and then redirect the rtmp stream to the Adobe Media Server (computer B). Those 3 computers have different lan configurations. If I use rtmpsuck (http://rtmpdump.mplayerhq.hu/) on computer P, can I use it like proxy to redirect the computer A rtmp flow to computer B?
    I suppose:
    1) computer A (es: 192.168.1.5 - gw 192.168.1.254) point to computer P with FMS url: rtmp://COMPUTER_P_WAN_IP/live and StreamName test?user=useruser&password=userpassword
    2) on computer P (es: 10.10.10.8 - gw 10.10.10.254) I install
rtmpsuck, I open port 1935 on his firewall and I configure iptables
    like: iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 1935 -j DNAT
    --to-destination COMPUTER_B_WAN_IP:1935
    3) on computer B I do nothing.
    Now I have 3 questions:
    1- Can it works?
2- On computer P (the proxy) I must install rtmpsuck and rtmpsrv or I can install only rtmpsuck? I don't necessary need to record the stream
3- Is there another way to do this? Is there another software to redirect the stream?
    Thankyou
    M.

Please update us when FMLE OSX is deployed.  BTW, I get that the server market is dominated by LINUX/WINDOWS and this is a FMS add on. But, my shops creative workflow is Mac based for obvious reasons.  Encoding is part of our editing workflow and thus needs to be mac based.  Throw us a bone please.

  • Pusblish Abode Connect meeting records (.flv) over Adobe Media Server - What is the easiest way?

    Hi,
my name is Robin Schröder. I am a member of the univertity “Hochschule Hamm Lippstadt” from Germany.
We r using the adobe connect already. We wanna create offline videos of meeting records and publish them over adobe media server. The offline videos are in the .flv format.
Do I have to convert the .flv into mp4 (h264 & AAC) before streamable with hds and hls?
I read about f4fpackager that this program can convert .flv into .f4m – but it failed with error 999….. I checked the .flv file with flvcheck before: success!
    The sample Video worked fine.
    So my question:
We wanna publish all .flv recordings over the Adobe Media Server (VODs). What is the easiest way to achieve this?
Convert .flv in a streaming format (mp4?) - HOW?
Create multi-bitrate versions from the video - HOW?
Create f4m file for adaptive bitrate streaming - manually?
Publish hds & hls URL in the html site (decryption for url possible?)How can I realize a iPad/iPod/iPhone switch in the html Code for HLS/HDS switch?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
I'm receiving the information that "No backups available.", but if i log in my icloud I find the backup.
    What can I do?

you should be on the same subnet as the server in order to receive multicast.

  • Vhost configuration for Adobe Media Server running under linux.

Please help me with Vhost configuration for Adobe Media Server running under linux.
I was running a media sharing website for which I wanted to use Adobe Media Server.
To use, AMS, I disabled the already installed Apache server and installed AMS along with the built in Apache server. I could successfully install AMS and could login to AMS Admin Console through my IP number.
My existing website, www.mydomain.com is having its contents located at:
    /home/mydomain/public_html
(Directory created under the old version of Apache not bundled with AMS)
Users will be uploading their videos, which will get transcoded and will be delivered to the website visitors in the existing scenario.
To use this website with AMS, this is what I did:
I created a folder for my domain, www.mydomain.com as below
    /opt/adobe/ams/conf/_defaultRoot_/www.mydomain.com
Copied Application.xml and Vhost.xml from /opt/adobe/ams/conf/_defaultRoot_/   and pasted them in /opt/adobe/ams/conf/_defaultRoot_/www.mydomain.com
In the Application.xml file there are 2 entries:
    <Alias name="mydomain.com"></Alias>
    <AppsDir>${/home/mydomain/public_html}</AppsDir>
Please help me with further steps to be completed:
Do I need to create a separate VirtualHost entry in the Apache installed with AMS?
If yes, can I specify already existing document root for my website (/home/mydomain/public_html) or do I need to create a separate folder under webroot/Apache ?
If yes to point 2 above, then do I need to copy all the existing contents from /home/mydomain/public_html to the newly created folder ?
I hope, I can serve all my static contents like html pages and php and media like video/audio. In that case do I need create alias to my Media/Alias folder or AMS will automatically start streaming when a video/audio is requested ?
What other steps do i need to complete?
Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Integrate native WebRTC audio/video on all AIR platforms including Adobe Media Server

    Hey everybody,
It is apparent that Adobe is very busy trying to keep up with improving and fixing video and audio bugs on all platforms. Thankfully, in the past month Adobe finally made a H264 video with Nellymoser audio stream work on Androids! That took a while to make that work. But even though that is working, AIR on Androids still cannot transmit H264 video. Also AIR on iOS cannot view live video, but instead video has to be wrapped inside a Apple HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) format which introduces way too much latency for live audio/video streaming. Also AIR cannot transmit AAC Audio, and echo cancellation with Nellymoser just doesnt make the cut.
Everybody is aware that Flash Player can only stream video/audio smoothly for 1 in 10 users. There is just way too much for Adobe to do to get audio/video to work again and to work for everybody on every device.
So because WebRTC has much more development effort going into it, and because it is being promoted as free source to try to make the proprietary licensing world to rethink H264 and AAC audio, perhaps Adobe should just focus their efforts on implementing the existing and mostly working WebRTC libraries into Adobe AIR.
Since these libraries are becoming so popular, Adobe could also integrate support for WebRTC into the Adobe Media Server for recording, peer-to-peer negotiation, and firewall hole punching.
See my feature request here to integrate native WebRTC audio/video on all platforms
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3728399
So will you vote with me to get WebRTC into Adobe AIR and Adobe Media Server?
Adobe could essentially deprecate many existing features requests and bug fixes related to audio video and solve many problems with WebRTC such as:
    Implement Opus Codec:

    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=selectBug&CFGRIDKEY=3331640

    Fix Enhanced Microphone issues:

    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=selectBug&CFGRIDKEY=3521224
Add support to stream AAC HE-AAC v2 audio, allowing iOS to be an endpoint that can receive audio and video:
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=selectBug&CFGRIDKEY=3694393
Add support to transmit H264 video from an Android:
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=selectBug&CFGRIDKEY=3648262
Decreased video latency and more performance on Androids regardless of the 32-bit/64-bit ARM Intel processors
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=selectBug&CFGRIDKEY=3648268
    Improve video quality and bandwidth:
    HEVC, H265, VP9

No there has been no update nor comment from Adobe regarding adding support for WebRTC. According to this year's roadmap they are booked! So it appears that we will not be seeing WebRTC in the ActionScript platform this year unfortunately. Back in March I made some predictions as to what might be considered higher priority for Adobe to be working on. It appears that list is still being worked on by the Adobe AIR/Flash team. They still have not finished support for iOS 8, and they still have several months to get hardware accelerated video finished. And VideoTexture is still in beta and will probably be in beta until AIR version 19 I would guess. Then 64-bit AIR runtime will be completed 3rd quarter along with HTML5 improvments for the 4th quarter. It looks like Adobe is completely booked.

  • Can I install Adobe Media Server - AMS 5 standard unto Linux Centos 6?

I would like to know if I can install AMS 5 standard on Centos 6? And if so which version would be best?
I see that Amazon EC2 runs a Adobe Media Server 5 version on a Centos 6.3 OS. So it must be possible right?
I have tried to install AMS 5 on Centos 7 but have not been able to get HTTP Dynamic streaming to work properly, so don't want to stuggle again, but I also don't want to be stuck with Centos 5 anymore as I cannot run Lavarel on there or the latest version of PHP.
Can someone please explain whether this is possible?

Yes AMS works on all CentOS 6.x...Centos 7 is not supported...You are always encouraged to use latest version of AMS which is 5.0.7 as on date.

  • QTSS/Adobe Media Server and Hardware Optimization

    HI all,
I am trying to make an informed choice between deploying either QTSS (free and on Mac) or Adobe Media Server (about $20,000 and on Linux). In our application we will have about 700 simultaneous connections to our service. About 400 of these users will be viewing one of four live video feeds (from presenters at an expo). The remaining users will hold one-to one video chats through our site. We have direct fiber bandwidth of 100megs and our video streams are held to 320x240 at 15fps. I have extensive Mac experience and currently use XServe for our other web service. I have three main questions.
    1) Does anyone have suggestions/experience on the use of QTSS instead of Adobe Media Server in this size application?
    2) If QTSS is used, how many servers and what configurations would you recommend for balancing this size workload?
    3) What load balancing hardware would be appropriate for this project if multiple servers are needed?
I really appreciate any help that might be offered. Thanks
    X-Serve (Intel 2.66Ghz)   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

The new auth plugin still doesn't work against Wirecast/FM 1.0 agents. The only way I was able to block these agents was through the main.asc file you put in your application. On the function application.onConnect insert this
    if( (p_client.agent.search("Wirecast")!=-1) || (p_client.agent.search("FM 1")!=-1) )
            trace (p_client.agent + " FM 1.0/Wirecast agent detected ...rejecting connection from "+p_client.ip);
            return false;
How do you require WireCast agents to be forced to enter a password?
Where/how do you put this action script, does anyone have any examples?

  • Error when i try buy adobe media server

Hello, I am from Bolivia. I try to buy "Adobe media server" but i got this error "   the account was registered for a different country. Please sign out and sign in using an existing account for this country"

    Thanks Igor!
I understand that in order to run Process Flows from within OWB, I do not need HTTP server. But I want to be able to schedule the "Process Flows" and some of the documentation I have read suggests that I need to configure and run HTTP Server. I am not quite sure if OEM fits into this process, too?
Could you kindly let me know if I'd need to schedule the jobs through OWM or OWF Manager is enough?
Also, whether we can run non-OWB jobs using OWF - for example, a PL/SQL Package and/or a Unix script? If the answer is yes, what is required to accomplish this? My organization does not have a job-scheduling tool and I want to find out if OWF can do this for us.
Thank you once again and I look to hearing from you soon.
    Best regards,
    Amer

  • Test my new Adobe Media Server

    Hello,
I've just finished my new Adobe Media Server installation and doing testing now.
I tried to run http://localhost/hds-vod/test.mp4.f4m in my Adobe Media Server local Sample Video Player, it works fine. But, when I tried to run in another client machine with same URL http://externalhost/hds-vod/test.mp4.f4m, it shows below error in my browser. Any help would be appreciate.

You need to have a hds player to be able to play the stream. You cna use default strobe media player that comes with Adobe standard installation.

  • Do I really need Adobe Media Server?

I am planning to set up a server on the Internet, with media files of different types. I just started investigating all the Media Servers out there. Much to my surprise (!!), I discovered that:
    - Using Firefox, MP3 files are played directly by some built-in player
    - Using MS Internet Explorer, MP3 files are played directly by MS Windows Media Player
    Similarly for MP4 files.
    http://patriot.net/~ramon/jfk/MaddowOReilly.mp3
    http://patriot.net/~ramon/jfk/MaddowOReilly.mp4
IOW:I do not necessarily need any special software at the server side. This is as easy as serving some HTML files!
That (those 2 file types) should cover a wide percentage of my needs. My problem remains some huge WAV files which are going to be used for Voice Identification, Sound Analysis, etc. (Audition stuff) and *must* be of the highest quality possible.
    Which begs the question:
In what environment do I need some sort of Media Server?
    TIA

    Hi Ramon
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
Adobe Media Server is a Video streaming server and the need would arise in the following scenarios:
++ You would like to stream (broadcast, multicast or live unicast) to a client machine on the same or different subnet.
++ You would like to host all your sample VOD's on the server for the clients to access them.
Please find the following link in reference to "Adobe Media Server Family":
Media server for streaming video | Adobe Media Server family
Playing video and the MP4 files on Firefox, Internet is on the client's end, but, the same files if are to be hosted at a common location (root) for all different clients to access them, its then a Media Server comes into picture.

    Diana John
