What version of code will prevent Roaming Issues?

I have three 1230G AP's in an Emergency Room environment and have wireless carts that move throughout the area. The Three APs are running 12.3(2)JA2, are on channels 1, 6, & 11, and the clients are using the Cisco 350 cards. Only WEP is enabled.
We setup a constant ping to a device in the same subnet and our problem occurs as we move the cart and it roams to a new AP, we get four "Destination not Found" errors everytime, with each cart.
We have enabled WDS and have even taken WEP off to ensure a trouble-free connection and it still occurs. Is this a result of the version of code they have on the AP's or the clients? Has anyone else had this experience?
Thanks in advance for any insight.

With Normal roaming what you are seeing is the expected behaviour. Try out fast secure roaming. For more information on this have a look at the following document, which explains what Fast Secure Roaming is and how it can be configured.

  • What version of Elements will work with Canon Print Studio Pro

What version of Elements will work with Canon Print Studio Pro?

I tried this step but it did not work. I have a Mac YosemiteOS 10.10.1. I copied to plug in files from Canon Print Studio Pro. Open canon utilities, open print studio pro, open CS4 folder and copied files CNPSPP101.plugin and CNPSPP102.plugin (not there is also a folder called CS5 but it has the fame plugin files)
I copy these files and then go to Photoshop Elements 13 and paste these files in Support File folder in Plug - ins and also did in folder Optional Plug-ins.
I then open Photoshop Elements 13 and hit Automation tools but Canon Pro Studio option is not there.
Can you provide more details on where I might be going wrong.
I put in a trial version of Elements 12 and have no problem. I just can't find where to purchase Elements 12 so I do not lose it in 30 days. Know where I can  purchase?

What version of imovie will run on Lion and where can I get it?

You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3.183.23 or later, is for Intel Macs only running Tiger or Leopard, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.4.402.265 or later is for Snow Leopard onwards.
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC (G4 or G5) Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, try the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the version 11.5.502.55:)
Download this http://scriptogr.am/nordkril/post/adobe-flash-11.5-for-powerpc to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

  • What version of Quicktime will work with Movie Captioner?

Does anyone know what version of Quicktime will work with Movie Captioner on a MacBook Pro, OSX version 10.2?

If you have a MacBook Pro you can't be running OS 10.2. If you are running OS 10.2, you have some other model Mac, not a MacBook Pro.
Can you provide the correct info?

  • What version of firefox will support mp4 video tags without plug ins or extensions?

I have a web site that my users upload mp4 videos to my website. I use html 5 and use the video tags type movie/mp4.
The only browser that has worked without any add ins, plug ins or extensions is safari 4.x and safari 5.x with quicktime. What version of firefox will support playing mp4 videos without any add ins or extensions?

That will probably not happen if there are codecs used that require a license.

  • What version of mozilla will work with pentium 3 697 MHz, 256 MB of RAM windows xp sp3

what version of mozilla will work with pentium 3 697 MHz, 256 MB of RAM windows xp sp3

I'm not sure I understand your question. Firefox 12 being the last version to support XP without SP2 implies that Firefox versions 4-11 would also work on XP without SP2.
You may have seen a reference to Firefox 3.6.28 because for a while Firefox 3.6 received some updates in parallel with the releases of Firefox 4-10, and 3.6.28 was the end of the line.
If there is an article that needs updating on this site -- and I can assure you there are many -- you may be able to submit proposed edits to it because many pages are "wiki" pages with an Edit link. Or if you want to post the URL of the problem page here, feel free to do that instead.

You can not "tweak it" at all beyond the built in settings and apps that can be downloaded from the app store.

  • What version of iMovie will work?

None of the five of us here have ever used/needed iMovie, but it exists on all the computers except one, and I have never purposely installed it. Where did it originally come from??? (I know it is now part of iLife.)
One older computer has version 3.0.3, and a couple of newer ones have the HD version that carries a version number 6.0.3 (which I find when I get info). My guess on the one that doesn't have it, if there was a choice during some install, it probably wasn't installed because it was not needed and to save space.
My problem is, it is now needed on this G4 dual 867, and I don't know which version to try (that I can get my hands on), that will work on this old of computer running OS 10.5.8. I downloaded and installed a version 3.0.3, but it crashes. (Won't work with 10.5.8??) It seems version 6 cannot be downloaded. Would version 8 work? (I'm also not sure if the version 8s I'm finding in downloads are full or just updates to an iLife version.)
Someone that knows some "history" on iMovie, and what version might work, please help!!!
    Thanks!
    Ginny

The computer in question is a 2002 computer, so I guess it didn't come with iLife components.
Correct. (Although it might have come with iMovie 2.)
Wouldn't OS updates have included these, though?
No. The OS and iLife are two different things.
This computer came with Jaguar, and has been updated to Panther
iMovie 3 was, I beleive, included with Panther. But iMovie 3 is buggy.
I assume iMovie 6 would have likely come with Tiger?
    No, see above.
I guess it might be illegal to just copy the iMovie HD application on my computer over to this one?
It would at least violate the Software Licence Agreement. That may or may not be illegal, depending on the laws in your country.
Looks like the ver 6 is the best one for this G4 dual 867 running Leopard.
Correct. Find a used iLife '06 on eBay (for instance).

  • What HTTP caching headers will prevent iPhoto from re-downloading each image in a "Photo Feed" every time it checks the feed for new content?

I've noticed a practical issue with iPhoto's File->"Subscribe to Photo Feed..." feature.
Every time that iPhoto checks a subscribed RSS Photo Feed for new content it will re-download each and every photo in the feed.  This occurs even if iPhoto has already downloaded each image, they all have unique GUIDs set, and no content in the feed has changed since the last time it polled for it.
My best guess is that this happens if the server offering the feed does not produce the proper cache-control parameters in the HTTP Headers that are sent by the server when the RSS feed is accessed by iPhoto.
Does anyone know what parameter/value pairs need to be set in the HTTP headers to prevent iPhoto from re-downloading RSS enclosures that it already has?
This is a very practical problem for feeds with a large number of photos of large file size.  Besides the obvious massive waste of bandwidth, the user receives an annoying error whenever they try to quit iPhoto before the feed and all of it's images have been re-downloaded yet again.

Here is an example of the HTTP headers for two of the images in the feed.
Any red flags in there that you think might be causing iPhoto to think it needs to re-download the images after it's already downloaded them once?

  • What version of iTunes will work on my iMac DV+ 450 MHz?

Since upgrading my Powerbook to Tiger I've been planning to install 10.2 on my iMac and have the updates to 10.2.8 stored. what is the highest version of iTunes that will run on this machine, as I saw that 5.0 needs at least 500 MHz? And where do I get this version, as the Jaguar installer will put an early version of iTunes on, which I then have to update?
I just saw the threads about 4.9 not being available any more - but as I only want to use iTunes as a player on the iMac I'm not too bothered about not having all the features. But I do want the best available for my iMac.
    Questions, questions.
    Robin

    Robin,
I have the same computer as you, except I'm running OS X 10.4.2. I tried iTunes 5, it seemed to run OK. Playback, creating playlists, sharing, all seemed to work. I did go back to 4.9, because I lost my ability to burn CDs. (The readme file states that iTunes 5 only supports Apple Drives, I should have read that more carefully. I reinstalled Tiger using erase and install. I had my data backed up on an external harddrive.)
If you only want playback, I suggest you try itunes 4.7. I you're not happy with that, you can always install iTunes 5. Although I would wait until Apple does an upgrade and be prepared to do a clean reinstallation of your system.
    Good Luck,
    Karen

  • What version of Safari will work with OS X 10.5.8

I am doing the final prep on a G4 powerbook to pass on to a student.   Is Safari upgradeable for this version?  If it can be upgraded, what is the latest download that I should look to install?

Another option that has more current update than obsolete Safari,
is a shareware that will run free (with occasional prompt to buy)
from iCab via download from web site... http://www.icab.de/dl.php
    version: iCab 5.1.1 (13.09.2013)
    (Universal Binary)
    for: Mac OS X 10.5.x - 10.7.x
    (G3, G4, G5, Intel)
direct download: zip (for 32/64 bit)
    http://www.icab.de/download.php?os=UB64&lang=en
I've used this along with other browsers in Leopard 10.5.8 and
find it adequate; yet have not paid the license fee. It works.
    And does not require registration.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • What version of Freehand will work on OSX Mountain Lion?

I am looking at switching from a powerbook to an iMac that is running OSX Mountain Lion, my version of Freehand is 11.0. What do I need to do to insure that when I receive my iMac that I can install Freehand and it will run?

Since FreeHand doesn't run natively on Mountain Lion, you will have to run it in Snow Leopard. The way to do that on your Mountain Lion iMac is by using program like Parallels, Fusion, VirtualBox to run Snow Leopard 10.6. You can also use Windows FreeHand in Crossover or WINE.
This site explains how to set this up: MacStrategy | Article | Virtualising Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard (Server)
Here's a good discussion: FreeHand Forum • View topic - FreeHand is back, at least on my MacBook Pro with Maverick
