FCP 5.0, 5.1 or FCP 6 will work fine with your G5 and OS.

  • What version of windows is best to run on an Early 2008 IMac?

What version of Windows is best to run on an Early 2008 IMac? And should I use Boot Camp, Parallels, or VMWare? My IMac will be a secondary computer now that I got a new IMac. The Early 2008 IMac is an Intel Core 2 Duo with 2GB memory, and 2.66 ghz processor speed. It is also running OSX 10.9.5 and Boot Camp is version 5.1.2.
I mostly want to do this so I can get rid of an old Windows machine that I just use to run Quicken on. I think I need to do this since Intuit does not support online bill pay for Apple versions of Quicken.
I am average with computers so any help would be really appreciated.
    Thanks
    Rocco

Bootcamp gives you access to underlying hardware on the iMac unlike VMware or Parallels. It does require reboot. Most VM engines let you take a Bootcamp Windows and run it as VM where a reboot can be avoided. With 2GB of memory, you should be able to Windows 7, but I would not recommend W8.

  • What version of Quicktime is best for Final Cut Pro version 6.0.5?

    Hello,
Could anyone tell me what version of Quicktime works best with Final Cut Pro version 6.0.5? Currently I have QT version 7.6.2.
Unfortunately, all the clips are digitizing at 640 x 480 instead of 720 x 480 (I have trashed prefs and checked the sequence settings and Easy Setup, both are set at NTSC 720 x 480). I have also completely re-installed FCP from the original disks.
When I digitize a clip, it digitizes at 640 x 480. When I open the clip itself and look at the properties, the "Presentation" is set to "Clean" (640 x 480) instead of "Classic" (720 x 480). It keeps defaulting to Clean, and therefore digitizing at 640x480.
Should I uninstall QT and go back to an earlier version? If so, which one would be best? Or is there an easier way to solve this problem?
Thank you in advance for any help. I've been struggling with this problem for over a week.

You list Sequence settings and Easy Setup, but is there any chance your Capture Preset somehow got tweaked to NTSC 4x3 (640x480), instead of it's normal setting of DV NTSC 3x2 (720x480)
From the extent of troubleshooting steps you've taken, this would be unlikely, but heck your Capture Preset and make sure it's correct.

What version of InDesign is best for my MAC (OS Version 10.6.8 with a 64 bit processor?

InDesign CS6 v8.1.0 should run without problems.
The cloud versions do not. They would require OSX 10.7.5 and soon OSX 10.9:

  • How do i find out what version i'm running

How do i find out what version i'm running, i'm on CC (6 is it), i want to check if i'm running 6.0 or 6.01 - the update, i cannot see where my version is. If i press 'About Adobe Lightroom', it takes me to the credits box which shows what camera raw i'm running, nothing else.

This is beginning to make some sense, thank you.
At the top of the LR forum i see - Lightroom CC 2015.0.1/Lightroom 6.0.1 update now available
I am subscribed. Seems 6 is equivalentto CC. And 2015.0.1 is 6.01.
Upon opening Cats i get the attached. (Why does it not say CC :-)
A little complicated isn't it. I think we've gotten to the bottom of it.
I think it would help though when various announcements are made (I think I first saw Victoria Bs announcement regarding 6.01, but she and others have not mentioned that 6.01 may mean 2015.0.1 if you are CC)

  • Hello. I was wondering what version of xcode may be installed on an old powerpc powerbook G4 with mac os x 10.4.11. What version? where may I download it from? Thanks a lot!

    Hello friends
I was wondering what version of xcode may be installed on a powerpc PowerBook G4 laptop with Mac OS X 10.4.11. What version would work on it? Where may I find it? I use the X11 package a lot.
    Thanks a lot!

You can download it for free from the Apple Developer Connection web site, but you have to have a membership. Go to this page:
    http://developer.apple.com/products/
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and the bottom right choice is the free online membership. Once you're signed up, you can log in and Download the Xcode tools. There will probably be several to choose from, including Xcode 3 and Xcode 2.5, so make sure you get the right one.

What operating system can I upgrade my 2006 MacBook Pro 17" inch to if it has a 2.16Gh Intel dual core and 2G ram?

A Core Solo or Core Duo Mac can go to Mac OS X 10.6.8. A Core 2 Duo or better can go to Mac OS X 10.7.2.

  • My 2011 intel dual core duo iMac apparently has "Airport" ans apparently it is "on" although the icon (upper right) is gray. I'm not sure what "airport" is

My 2011 intel dual core duo iMac apparently has "Airport" ans apparently it is "on" although the icon (upper right) is gray. When I click on the <gray> airport icon it says it's "on" and the option is to turn it off.
I'm not sure what "airport" is, and I have no idea what a router is supposed to accomplish. I got a "smartphone" (not an iPhone, an android) and at a "Smartphone class" at the senior center I was told I need a router.

OK, so, in installing a router could I attach the router to my Verizon DSL modem and have the iMac get it's internet from the router by wi-fi?
This way I could place the router 1/2 way between the only two places in my home where wifi devices (wife's tablet, my iMac) are.
    Yes, exactly.
For the router I suggest you consider one of the three Apple AirPort Base Stations, not only because it will be easier to get help with using them on this website, but they are generally regarded as the most reliable wireless routers. Technical support directly from Apple is free for the first 90 days.
Slightly cheaper alternatives exist. I have tried other manufacturer's wireless routers, and I don't recommend them.

  • What version of flash is best for an older xp system with a P4 processor running 1.6 Ghz?

The system requirements for the current flashplayer is a 2.33 Ghz CPU, I have an older xp system with a P4 processor running 1.6 Ghz? What version of flash should I be running? I am using both IE and Firefox (various versions).

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
You can download older version of Adobe Flash Player (10.2 or 10.1) from Flash Player Archive (http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html)

  • What version of JInitiator is best for OA 11.5.10?

I realize this is a bit subjective. I'd like to hear what version others are using and what you like or don't like about that version.
We use 1.3.1.21 and are not wild about it. It has a couple peculiar behaviors when used with Internet Explorer. One is that if you try to start a second session of the application, you must start it from an open browser by using a favorite, link or portal link. If you start it from a desktop or menu icon, it will knock out the original session.
    How about you?

    Hi
The version you are using is certified. However, in the Spring of 2006 Oracle certified 11i to use the Sun Java instead of JInitiator. Please take a look at this posting for more information: http://blogs.oracle.com/schan/2006/04/18#a23
You may want to give this some consideration, particularly if you intend to use Discoverer as well. This posting may well help in that respect: http://blogs.oracle.com/schan/newsItems/departments/businessIntelligence/2006/10/31

  • Opengl error...how do I find what version I'm running?

Hi all.  I play games and downloaded a new one today.  It crashed immediately saying that my version of OpenGL was not 2.1.  I saw somewhere that OpenGL is included in the Xcode files.  Where can I find them to see what I'm actually running?  I'm at a loss here.  I want to upgrade to OSX Maverick but I don't have enough memory...my current specs are:
    OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard
    2.0 GHz
    2.0 GB hard disk space
I can't find a code in Terminal to identify Xcode at all.  Forum messages say it's on my installation disk and I'm pretty sure I downloaded it, but how can I find it??  Thanks!
