What version of Flash Player should I use with my Power PC based Mac?

I did the following (see below from a Recent Forum) - and even got a sucessful INSTALLED, but when I go to YouTube....I can not get anything and I am asked to update FLASH.....thoughts?
What version of Flash Player should I use with my Power PC based Mac?
Please follow these instructions for installing the most recent version of Flash Player that supports PowerPC based Macs
1. Follow the instructions for uninstalling Flash Player on the Mac: Uninstall Flash Player
2. Download and extract the Flash Player 10.1.102.64 zip file
3. Navigate into the folder "/Flash Player 10.1.102.64/10_1r102_64/"
4. Mount the file "flashplayer10_1r102_64_ub_mac.dmg" by double clicking
5. Install using the normal procedure

I was finally able to successfully installed FP on my Mac OS 10.5.8 using the last trick shown below by Chris (Adobe Flash Player.pkg file). This, only after several (at least 10) attempts, and only after restarting my computer after downloading the install file. Thanks for the helpful post.

  • What version of flash player should be installed on website?

Not very saavy with building site, looking for recommendations on what is the least problematic version of flash player. Site is  www.legacygroupbuilders.com  Thanks!

    Hi Thomas,
Flash Player is installed on the individual's pc, not on the website.  If you have Flash content on your site, then visitors to that site need to have Flash Player installed to view the content.  Depending on your content, you may require your visitor's have a specific version of Flash Player installed to view the content.
BTW, https://www.legacygroupbuilders.com/ returns a 'web page not available' error on Chrome, and connection time out on Firefox attempting to get to it.

  • What version of Windows 7 should I use with a MacAir?

I'd like to buy an OEM version if possible.
I believe I need a bootable DVD OEM version - is there a way to tell if an OEM is bootable?
Apple support told me I needed a product key that is compatible with Apple - how would I tell that?
Or... am I better of going full retail?
I need Windows to run some accounting software, but won't use it for anything else - I think Home Premium would be good enough.
    Thanks

You must use a retail version of Windows 7, however, these can no longer be purchased.
You should just use a retail version of Windows 8. And with Windows 8.1, you get the start button back.
You can purchase Windows 8 here.
I hope I answered your question.

  • What version of Quick books can I use with 10.6.8?

What version of Quick Books can I use with my IMac version 10.6.8?

Contact Intuit to find out. The current version requires Lion 10.7.3 or later. Or you could upgrade OS X:
Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard — Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service — this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion — System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.

  • What version of flash player do i need

    Hi,
I tried publishing captivate projects and there is this weird
dialogue box which sticks out in the middle which says created by :
my name, creator : my company's name and adobe captivate in the
bottom and it runs over all the slides . I have flash player 6. Is
that the problem. What version should i get to avoid this dialogue
box and i tried importing .swf project to ppt. Did all the gimicks
which were given online on how to make video embed in a ppt and it
did not play . Does this have something to do with my version of
    flash player again??

I would suggest trying with Flash player v7 or later.. I've
not seen your particular issue but I think Captivate was built with
    v7 in mind

  • Making .swf files in Flash Pro CC: What versions of Flash Player could play it?

    Hello, all!
I was recently let go from my last job. My former boss wanted me to do ActionScript work on a PowerPC Mac (an iMac G5) with a decade-old version of Flash (Flash MX 2004.) Her reasoning for this was sound: she wanted to distribute some of here English tutoring software to cash-strapped schools, so she wanted me to work with older software and hardware to ensure compatibility. Unfortunately (in this case) the only version of Flash Pro that I can legally acquire is Flash Pro CC, so I was unable to actually get my hands on anything that could run ActionScript 2. This made my productivity at work go slower than desired. Not only was I slow in picking up how to use Flash MX on a Mac (I'm primarily a Windows/Linux person) but she made it quite clear that she wasn't going to have me learning how to do the job on company time. In the end, she decided to scrap the project.
Now, that job is gone, and what's done is done, but I'm still interested in using Flash/ActionScript, and I'm also left with a question that, depending on the answer, may have saved my job if I had asked it just a couple days ago: what's the oldest version of Flash Player that would be able to play .swf files made in the current version of Flash Pro CC?
Thank you all for your time.

with a cc subscription, you can download, install and activate flash pro cs6 which supports as2.
the answer to your last question depends on what features you use of flash pro cc.  at a minimum you would be using as3 and need to use a flash player version that supports as3.

  • What versions of Flash Player Still Receive Security Fixes?

    Greetings,
I'm seeking a page that lists the supported vs. unsupported versions of Flash Player. That is, what versions are still eligible to recieve security fixes (regardless of OS).
    Thanks!
    Edit update:
To be more clear and reword things: I'd like to find the annoucement pages for each unsupported version of Flash Player, that is, links to office Adobe content showing when certain versions entered an unsupported state.
    Thanks again!

As far as I know, we don't have an official page that lists when a version stops receiving security fixes.  I suspect we'll do a blog post when this occurs and I'll also update in our announcement forum which you can find here:
Is there a way to be automatically notified when a new Flash Runtime release is made?
The announcement forum also lets you know when security udpates are made, and where to find both the 11.x and 10.3 updates.
