What version of iPhoto am I supposed to have?

I am running OSx 10.6.8 Snow Leopard with iPhoto 9.4.2
It's running fine and smoothly.
Is this the most current version for my OS?

9.4.2 is the latest version of iPhoto - for any system
But something is amiss with your question - iPhoto '11 version 9.4.2 requires at least OS X 10.7.5 - Lion

  • What version of iPhoto do you need to have for it to still work with the 10.10.3 update?

I have a neighbor who has his iPhoto set up just the way he wants and does not want to use Photos.  On my system I lost the use of iPhoto completely with the upgrade, but do not care since I don't use it but he will.  I have told him not to upgrade until he is sure he has the correct version to allow him to continue using iPhoto.
    Thanks

With MacOS X 10.10.3 your neighbour will need iPhoto 9.6.1.
To be able to install this update he needs to upgrade at least to MacOS X 10.10.2.

Detail.  I Attach my camera and the fields where the photos usually show up are empty and at the top of the screen it says all photos from camera are downloaded. But they are not. They can't be.
I fixed the problem somewhat myself by removing the miniSD and manually inserting it. It did not populate automatically. I had to open iPhoto and then it populated only the most recent photos I had taken which fortunately were the only ones I need. No error messages this seems to be a new occurrence.
Is there a way to just turn iPhoto off and download my photos to the folder of my own choosing?

Sure - in the iPhoto prefercences set action when a camera is ocnnected to Image Capture

  • What version  of iphoto to download from EOS 20D

What version of iphoto or what software do I need to download images from my EOS 20 D Canon camera onto my computer? I currently have iphoto 2.

    Hi, kgaynes.
Will iphoto 2 support 20D EOS cameras?
Change the Image Capture pref to open iPhoto instead of PS CS, and find out. I don't know the answer, not having a 20D or iP 2 myself.
Have you installed Canon's proprietary software that came with the 20D? There may be a driver included in that software bundle that's required for your camera to talk to your Mac via USB.
It is possible, as you suggest, that iPhoto 2 doesn't support the significantly newer 20D. But if you change the Image Capture setting and install the software that Canon supplied, you should be able to find out whether or not that's true in fairly short order.

  • What version of iphoto works with os x mavericks?

What version of iphoto works with os x maverick?

This screenshot shows which previous versions of iPhoto are compatible with Mavericks.  It also indicates which versions qualify for a free upgrade to iPhoto 9.5.1 and which require a purchase:
Note 1:  every day more users are reporting problems with iPhoto 8.1.2 so I've included it in the non compatible category.
Note 2:  If your previous version of iPhoto was iPhoto 7 (08) or earlier you'll need to download and run the iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.1 application on the library before opening it with iPhoto9.5.1.

  • What version of iphoto should i download for my OS X Mountain Lion

what version of iphoto should i download for my OS X Mountain Lion and how can i get back my ivideo for my mac? it is gone after i installed 10.8.2 version

There is only one version of iPhoto. What version do you own? iPhoto is usually bundled with a Mac, so you should have a version. The current version 9.4.2.
How did you upgrade to 10.8.2 and from what version of OS X?
If you just did a plain upgrade without erasing the disk, then iVideo should still be in your Applications folder.

  • What version of iphoto should I be running with 10.6.8 ?

What version of iphoto should I be running with 10.6.8 ?   I don't plan on upgrading to 10.7.x and I want to make sure that I install the correct version of iphoto.  I am currently running 7.1.5 of iphoto.

9.3.3. ?  I thought the latest version is 9.3.2.   Also, I thought I read that 9.3.2 will not work with 10.6.8.  Really appreciate your assistance.  I read somewhere that it looks like that I should be installing 9.2.3  (that appears to work with 10.6.8.

  • What version of iPhoto should I get for OS 10.6.8

Hi What version of iPhoto should I purchase to go wih OS 10.6.8?
    Dan Page

    Hi Neil:
Thanks for the rapid come back.  I just tried that, but when I attempted to download the program, the message came back that I needed OS 10.7.  So it would not download.

  • I've backup  my iPhoto on WD My Passport.  When I try to pull up the photos from the external hard drive onto a different computer,  it says "You can't open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto."  It says I have to use a later version.

After backing up my photos on a My Passport hard drive I can't open iphoto from the hard drive.  It says "You can't open your current photo library using this version of iphoto.  You have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iphoto. Please quit and use the latest version of iphoto."  I have done all the upgrades for iphoto.  Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

What versions of iPhoto and OS X are on each computer? You can find out by going to your iPhoto application (from the Applications folder), clicking it once to highlight it, and click cmd-i to open its information window. The version number is in the General tab.
Your version of OS X can be found from the Apple menu, then About This Mac.
The latest version of iPhoto (9.5.1) requires OS X 10.9, so if you have an older version of OS X on that computer, you will have to upgrade to Mavericks and then upgrade to the newer iPhoto.

  • What version of iphoto was in iLife version packages?

Looking purchase iLife '08 or '09 to upgrade current iPhoto 6.0.6 but I can't find information about versions in those packages.  I missed it first time around;  having just upgraded OS from Tiger to Snow Leopard, without adding additional memory cards I understand Lion probably won't be compatible to my system.  iPhoto is not happy and constantly stalling and quitting.  I looked at iLife'11 but specs require min 10.7...  Any ideas for me?  I found iLife software for sale but don't know which is what I would need, or if what I want is even possible.  What happened to iPhoto v7?
    THank you,

Thank you Terence Devlin in iPhoto:   I burned some disks a few weeks ago upgrading OS from Tiger to Snow Leopard, but don't know if everything is on them and it would take me a long to time to figure that out.  [This part is new for me... obviously.   I'm a few years behind having been ill and am trying to catch up and unable to purchase newer equipment.]
I was concerned that "message" was warning me about something going wrong ...
I didn't find iLife'08 only iLife'09 so I went for it;  so I'm going from 6.0.6 passing version 7.  Is that done? or do they need to be sequential?  You did say 8 OR 9...
I was only referring to the software that the HP has called Photosmart Studio, much like iPhoto.  Wasn't referring to "Printer/Scanner as a backup", only the Software that came with it that has editing capabilities, just not all my iphoto library is  in there.  That's what I meant as a backup, much like uploading to Shutterfly, or Snapfish.
    Thanks, Please continue to advise.

  • How do i know what version of iPhoto i have?

I saw a post that says to open iPhoto and then click on the About. There is no such thing when I open my iPhoto. I'm ultimately trying to open an invitation to a Photo Stream file which that doesn't work for me either even after I've updated my Mac to the latest version. I'm so frustrated! Any help is appreciated thanks!

Launch iPhoto - at the top there is an "apple" menu then an iPhoto menu - under the iPhoto menu is "about iPhoto - it should e version 9.5.1 if you do have the latest version
To turn on PhotoStream go to the system preferences (under the "apple" menu and log into iCloud and then in the iPhoto preferences (again under the iPhoto menu) set your desired PhotoStream preferences  --  see the PS FAQs for more information - iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ

  • What version of iPhoto do I need to work with Photo Stream?

My photos taken on my iPad do not appear on my iMac even though  ICloud is set up and working.  I think the problem is that my version of iPhoto is 7.4 and I need 9.0 or above for iCloud to transfer photos without syncing.  I do not have iLife.  Will I have to purchase that in order to get the correct version of iPhoto so it will work with iCloud?  I don't really want iLife but if it is the only way i can get the iPhoto version I need, I guess I will have to purchase it.

    "I do not have iLife"
Yes you do. It has been standard on all Macs for about 9 years.

Yes, you will need to purchase iPhoto 9 to use iCloud Photo Stream.
Go to Apple menu > App store.
You can purchase only iPhoto 9 ?$14.99).
You do not need the entire iLife 11 package.
