What version of iphoto should i download for my OS X Mountain Lion

what version of iphoto should i download for my OS X Mountain Lion and how can i get back my ivideo for my mac? it is gone after i installed 10.8.2 version

There is only one version of iPhoto. What version do you own? iPhoto is usually bundled with a Mac, so you should have a version. The current version 9.4.2.
How did you upgrade to 10.8.2 and from what version of OS X?
If you just did a plain upgrade without erasing the disk, then iVideo should still be in your Applications folder.

    Hi Neil:
Thanks for the rapid come back.  I just tried that, but when I attempted to download the program, the message came back that I needed OS 10.7.  So it would not download.

  • What version of iphoto should I be running with 10.6.8 ?

What version of iphoto should I be running with 10.6.8 ?   I don't plan on upgrading to 10.7.x and I want to make sure that I install the correct version of iphoto.  I am currently running 7.1.5 of iphoto.

9.3.3. ?  I thought the latest version is 9.3.2.   Also, I thought I read that 9.3.2 will not work with 10.6.8.  Really appreciate your assistance.  I read somewhere that it looks like that I should be installing 9.2.3  (that appears to work with 10.6.8.

  • How long should it take for a reinstall of mountain lion

    Hi
I have erased my HD and am reinstalling Mountain Lion. At the suggestion of apple care techs since I've been having kernel panic and overheating issues since upgrading.
Anyhow the erase and reinstall started 6 hours ago and it says it still has 11 hours to go. using wifi.
    Is this normal?
Can I go and plug it in via Ethernet in the middle of this in an attempt to speed things up?
    Thanks

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Connect by Ethernet and try downloading from Ethernet. If the speed doesn't increase, you can restart and see if the speed increases the next time you start the download, but you'll lose the download progress

  • What version of iTunes should I use for my 160gb iPod classic with a 2.0.1 software?

I have a 160gb iPod classic with a 2.0.1 software. I just had my laptop fixed and I downloaded the new iTunes but I can't sync my iPod. I think this is because it's not compatible with each other (am i right?) Well, anyway, I need to know what verstion of iTunes to use so that I can sync again on my iPod. Thank you!

    hi PT the devil advocate,
    The first reason why I'm suggesting this is because of the first question ask in this post;
    sphericalcamel wrote:
I updated iTunes to whatever is current through software update, but when I tried to run it I was informed that it needed 10.4.9 to run (and for some reason software update didn't pick up that requirement).
The second reason, is because you will not receive full support on older software version. Like said above, you cannot buy song with an older iTunes version.
Beside, I said in a previous reply of this post that this is my personal preference to keep software up-to-date and that _I do understand_ that other person could prefer to stick with software version that have been proven to work well and not update. Having say this, I do not beleive that you need to play the devil's advocate here.
Nevertheless, this is normally suggested to keep software up-to-date in order to prevent either security issue (lot of updates are for improving security) and also for bugs issue. I'm not suggesting to buy Leopard here. I'm only saying that 10.4.2 is out-dated by 9 version which are free upgrade and that at version 11, 10.4 should be quite mature now for all computer.
For me, based on this, I do not see any reason why someone should not be running previous version than 10.4.11. If there is sleeping bugs running 10.4.3 and not 10.4.2, I'm suggesting to adress this issue instead because _there must be a solution to this_.
In order to solve the issue, I'm just suggesting to post it on Tiger forum.

  • What version of iTunes can I download for Windows Vista, with a QuickTime player that won't crash Windows Explorer?

I have tried installing both iTunes 10.4.1 and iTunes 10.3.1 for 64-bit Windows Vista.  They both install well, but my Windows Explorer crashes as soon as I open either of them.  I have to 'hit the emergency brakes' and hold down the power button on my laptop to stop the meltdown.  After reading other people's threads, I realized that the problem is QuickTime 7.  I still need to find out, however, if there is a 64-bit Vista version of iTunes with QuickTime 6 or lower that can still be downloaded from the Apple website.  I really like iTunes, and I have done without for about two years now.  Please help!!!

6.2 isn't supported with the Clie. If the data is being lost inbetween syncs then here are a few tips to prevent data loss.
Never turn the computer off while Palm Desktop is running.
Don't leave the Palm Desktop open when it's not in use
Make sure that the Palm Desktop is closed with any security applications are running scans.

  • What version of Firefox should I download? (Mac OS 10.5.8)

There are no system requirements listed. Last time, I updated to a version that is not compatible with my OS. Before I do that again, I would like to know if it will work. Thanks. J

    Hello,
I have a G5 running OS 10.5.8 as well and found that highest version of Firefox that you can go is 3.6.26.
Don't bother trying any higher. You'll only have to uninstall the higher version and then install the 3.6 version first and then the 3.6.26 version (at least I think that's how I did it - it's been a long time since I did this.).
It's really a bummer they won't be supporting OS X.5.8 any longer. Our G5 is still an incredible and reliable computer!

  • What virus protection should i download for my macbook pro

i just got my macbook pro and want to know what virus protection program should i download for free

This comment applies to malicious software ("malware") that's installed unwittingly by the victim of a network attack. It does not apply to software, such as keystroke loggers, that may be installed deliberately by an attacker who has hands-on access to the victim's computer. That threat is in a different category, and there's no easy way to defend against it. If you have reason to suspect that you're the target of such an attack, you need expert help.
All versions of OS X since 10.6.7 have been able to detect known Mac malware in downloaded files. The recognition database is automatically updated once a day; however, you shouldn't rely on it, because the attackers are always at least a day ahead of the defenders. In most cases, there’s no benefit from any other automated protection against malware.
Starting with OS X 10.7.5, there is another layer of built-in malware protection, designated "Gatekeeper" by Apple. By default, applications that are downloaded from the network will only run if they're digitally signed by a developer with a certificate issued by Apple. Applications certified in this way haven't actually been tested by Apple (unless they come from the Mac App Store), but you can be sure that they haven't been modified by anyone other than the developer, and his identity is known, so he could be held responsible if he knowingly released malware. For most practical purposes, applications recognized by Gatekeeper as signed can be considered safe. Note, however, that there are some caveats concerning Gatekeeper:
It doesn't apply to software that comes packaged as an installer. Treat all third-party installers with caution.
It can be disabled or overridden by the user.
It can be bypassed by some third-party networking software, such as BitTorrent clients and Java applets (see below.)
It only applies to applications downloaded from the network. Software installed from a CD or other media is not checked.
For more information about Gatekeeper, see this Apple Support article.
Notwithstanding the above, the most effective defense against malware attacks is your own intelligence. All known malware on the Internet that affects a fully-updated installation of OS X 10.6 or later takes the form of so-called "trojan horses," which can only have an effect if the victim is duped into running them. If you're smarter than the malware attacker thinks you are, you won't be duped. That means, primarily, that you never install software from an untrustworthy source. How do you know a source is untrustworthy?
Any website that prompts you to install a “codec,” “plug-in,” or “certificate” that comes from that same site, or an unknown one, is untrustworthy.
A web operator who tells you that you have a “virus,” or that anything else is wrong with your computer, or that you have won a prize in a contest you never entered, is trying to commit a crime with you as the victim. [Some reputable websites did legitimately warn users who were infected with the "DNSChanger" malware. That exception to this rule no longer applies.]
“Cracked” copies of commercial software downloaded from a bittorrent are likely to be infected.
Software with a corporate brand, such as Adobe Flash Player, must be downloaded directly from the developer’s website. No intermediary is acceptable.
Java on the network (not to be confused with JavaScript, to which it's not related) is always a potential weak spot in the security of any operating system. If Java is not installed, don't install it unless you really need it. If it is installed, you should disable it (not JavaScript) in your web browsers. Few websites have Java content nowadays, so you won’t be missing much. This setting is mandatory in OS X 10.5.8 or earlier, because Java in those obsolete versions has known security flaws that make it unsafe to use on the Internet. The flaws will never be fixed. Regardless of version, experience has shown that Java can never be fully trusted, even if no vulnerabilities are publicly known at the moment.
Follow these guidelines, and you’ll be as safe from malware as you can reasonably be.
Never install any commercial "anti-virus" products for the Mac, as they all do more harm than good. If you need to be able to detect Windows malware in your files, use the free software ClamXav — nothing else.

which version of adobe should be downloaded for a kindle fire 7 hd with linux?

To the best of my knowledge you are restricted to what ever applications from the Kindle store. There are few Adobe products other than Reader that have been approved by Amazon for their store. In fact, they offer more apps on their andriod store for other manufacturers than they do on their own Kindle store.
