We are 20 developer and we use bitkeeper as a version control system.
But we have 4 envirronnement.
dev/test/pre-prod/prod.
Sometimes, 2-3 projects are affecting the same packages.
And different packages version is all over the place since we have 4 envirronnements.
What version control system you use for packages?

I "used to be" a professional photographer but am now retired. I would like to get into using Photoshop but don't know what version to use. Can someone help? I have an HP w/AMD Athlon II X4 640 Processor w/6GB RAM and all the bells & whistles that go along with that.

Your just starting you need to ask yourself a couple of question. How serious do you think you want to get into post processing. If you want to alter images things like removing objects, adding objects replaceing backgrounds then you will need a good editor and have a lot to learn. If on the other hand you just want to enhance yout images so develop your images better then to come from your camera you get by with less.
in anycase Adobe is the gold standard when it comes to Image processing and you can download 30Day free trials of the products. However you not going to learn any of then well in 30 days.
My suggestion would be to buy alicence for Photoshop Elements. It a subset of Photoshop with a price around $100 compaired to $700 for Photoshop. Anything tou learn in Photoshop Element will go a long way if after a year or so you deside you need full blown Photoshop. Photoshop Element has a little more hand holding for the novice user then Photoshop which has none. With Elements you can also use Adobe Camera RAW (ACR) with some minor limitations to develop you RAW files into RGB images. If you find that all you wind up doing you may wing just needing Lightroom alonf with Elements for Editing for removeing, adding and replacing objects. Lightroom is onle $300 has great image organiastion feature using databases and an output module the has some niced fretures for createinf I beleive slideshows, Web Photo Galleries and prints. I don't use Lightroom or Elements I just user Photoshop.
Right now your better of with Element to learn Photoshop. The Latest version of Photoshop CS6 is very buggy and there issue with some hardware and software you need to be careful to meet the right hardware requirements and install the proper drivers. You did not state which Video card you machine has. Check Adobe Web site to see if they have tested the card your machine has. Adobe is working on fixing CS6 who knows by the time you learn Photoshop maybe CS6 will be fixed or there will be a newer better Photoshop.

What version of NWDS to use / NW 7.3 Support Package Version confusion

what is the recomendation for the NWDS version to use. Shall it be equal to the version of the server (in our case it is 7.3SP5) or does the NWDS have its own versioning and one should use always the highest available- at the moment this would be SP7: https://nwds.sap.com/swdc/downloads/updates/netweaver/nwds/nw/730/doc/auto_com.sap.netweaver.developerstudio.distribution.complete.extsoa_versions.html.
The current information of the SP versions for NW 7.3 makes it more confusing. The SP-stack schedule says the next SP is No. 7 and will be available in April (the fact that there is already a SP7 NWDS raises the first question)
And in the maintenance guide section of SMP there is a SPS-Guide NW 7.3 SP6:

The SP Stack 05 will be followed by SP Stack 07. It is just renumbered from SP Stack 06 and follows the original
planning, It is not recommended to implement SP06 without applying SP Stack 07. And use of NWDS sp07 with
NW 7.3 sp07.is recommended.

Im new at programming mobile phones, but by no means new to java and programming.
I have been tasked with developing a program to a series of Nokia mobile phones and before i get into the thick of it, i just wanna ask all those in these forums;
What versions do i use?
So far my readings have made me believe that the standard today is to develop midp 2.0 applications for never phones and midp1.0 for older phones - is that right?

U can download the Wireless toolkit 2.5 from sun. Then as u said midp2.0 is widely accepted now ,so go for it. I been using netbeans mobility 5.5.1. But since u r new to j2me its better to start with the toolkit itself

I have an iMac with the non-dual core intel processor. When I updated Firefox, it gave me a version of 3.6.8 on o/s x. However, my intel based macs also running o/s x only updated to 3.6.13. Is there a difference version for intel based vs non intel based?

If you have a problem with say a single particular site one unofficial workaround is to install Firefox Portable, as an additional browser that may be used on the problem website. For the day-to-day browsing use Firefox.

My department is looking to use Oracle 8i for a web-based online IT course using Java servlets and JSPs that we're developing for students in the University of Glasgow, but I'd really appreciate information comparing Oracle 8i Standard, Personal, Lite etc. So far, I've been using Lite on my personal machine for development, but I'm not sure about the stability of the JDBC driver. What is the maximum number of users that can access these different products simultaneously (over the Web) and what exactly counts as a "user"? Ie, there will only be one person using the database (me) but lots of people making requests and updates to the database via the web and JDBC -- do they count?

The error you're getting occurs with ODP either 1) cant find an Oracle client, or 2) the version it found is wrong. ODP is client version specific.

On newer versions, You can just try to run it and it will tell what's missing. (On very old LabVIEW versions, (e.g. 4.1) you don't need a runtime, everything is contained in the executable.)
If it is already running on a machine and you want to know the version it is using, do "help..about" (unless the menu is hidden or highly customized).
Don't forget to also install NiDAQ, etc. on the target system as needed.
You can always install multiple runtime versions concurrently. They coexist peacefully and LabVIEW will pick the right one for each application.

I purchased my eMac in 2004 and it came with iDVD 4.0 pre-installed. I upgraded it to iDVD 4.0.1, and everything worked fine with OS 10.3.4 and QuickTime 6.5.1. I burned 8 DVD projects with no trouble.
I recently upgraded the OS to 10.3.9 and QuickTime to 7.1.5. I just burned a DVD tonight, and the audio is out of sync. Also, one of the video files doesn't start at the beginning of the movie. It starts later.
Are these problems caused by using iDVD 4.0.1 with the newer QuickTime? Or with the newer OS? Should I go back to 10.3.9 and QT 6.5.1?

Thank you for your reply. I have followed the instructions and I am now running QuickTime 6.5.2, with OS 10.3.9 and iDVD 4.0.1.
Everything works normally except on movie files where I have a chapter marker near the beginning of the movie. On some movies I have chapter markers near the beginning, so that the viewer can select that part of the video when browsing around the disc. This causes trouble with iDVD though.
In the preview for iDVD, everything plays fine and the audio is synced fine. But, when the disc is burned, the audio is out of sync - only for those movies that had the chapter marker near the beginning. On the burned DVD, those movies play with the audio starting correctly, but the video starting at the next chapter (the second chapter marker I placed). I believe this is a bug in iDVD, since it plays perfectly in the iDVD preview, but incorrectly on the burned disc.
I have reinstalled iDVD and upgraded it to 4.0.1, and the problem is still there. It seems like my only solution would be to remove that first chapter marker.

You should update to iOS5 first. This can be done only via iTunes.
Then you can update to iOS6, either via iTunes or directly from the iPad's Settings

Your choice what version. Standard wisdom is always use the latest and therefore most secure. Not all add-on's are ready to go for the latest versions however.
