How would this help you?  Buying back versions on ebay is not for faint of heart as many copies counterfeit and will not work.

Can anyone tell me what version of Flash that will support my old PC running Windows XP Professional Version 2002??? Everything else is working fine except for Flash, so I don't want to get into upgrading the operating system. I have several browsers (IE, Opera, FireFox) installed and Flash will not work with any of them.  Thanks for any help.

  • What version of iTunes should I use for my 160gb iPod classic with a 2.0.1 software?

I have a 160gb iPod classic with a 2.0.1 software. I just had my laptop fixed and I downloaded the new iTunes but I can't sync my iPod. I think this is because it's not compatible with each other (am i right?) Well, anyway, I need to know what verstion of iTunes to use so that I can sync again on my iPod. Thank you!

    hi PT the devil advocate,
    The first reason why I'm suggesting this is because of the first question ask in this post;
    sphericalcamel wrote:
I updated iTunes to whatever is current through software update, but when I tried to run it I was informed that it needed 10.4.9 to run (and for some reason software update didn't pick up that requirement).
The second reason, is because you will not receive full support on older software version. Like said above, you cannot buy song with an older iTunes version.
Beside, I said in a previous reply of this post that this is my personal preference to keep software up-to-date and that _I do understand_ that other person could prefer to stick with software version that have been proven to work well and not update. Having say this, I do not beleive that you need to play the devil's advocate here.
Nevertheless, this is normally suggested to keep software up-to-date in order to prevent either security issue (lot of updates are for improving security) and also for bugs issue. I'm not suggesting to buy Leopard here. I'm only saying that 10.4.2 is out-dated by 9 version which are free upgrade and that at version 11, 10.4 should be quite mature now for all computer.
For me, based on this, I do not see any reason why someone should not be running previous version than 10.4.11. If there is sleeping bugs running 10.4.3 and not 10.4.2, I'm suggesting to adress this issue instead because _there must be a solution to this_.
In order to solve the issue, I'm just suggesting to post it on Tiger forum.

  • What version of iphoto should i download for my OS X Mountain Lion

what version of iphoto should i download for my OS X Mountain Lion and how can i get back my ivideo for my mac? it is gone after i installed 10.8.2 version

There is only one version of iPhoto. What version do you own? iPhoto is usually bundled with a Mac, so you should have a version. The current version 9.4.2.
How did you upgrade to 10.8.2 and from what version of OS X?
If you just did a plain upgrade without erasing the disk, then iVideo should still be in your Applications folder.

  • What brands and type can I use for my iMac 20" internal Hard Drive?

what brands and type can I use for my iMac 20" aluminium internal Hard Drive?
can I use WD caviar black?
    is it too hot?

If you are replacing the drive because the existing one is faulty, that's one thing. If you just want more space, you should take advantage of having a decently fast and relatively small capacity drive in there now (instead of a huge drive). Get an external FireWire drive and off-load most of your user data there. Make your internal drive dedicated to mostly your OS and app files, with plenty of free space. That setup will make your iMac run more efficiently. I won't go into more detail, because I'm not answered your specific question... You can post back with any questions, if interested...
    To answer your questions...
You should be able to use any SATA 3.5-inch drive internally, but you should probably keep it at or under 1TB. The main concerns are power usage and heat dissipation. A drive like the WD Caviar Green would be ideal in terms of power and heat, but they do have slower (or variable) spin rate. I have one as an external drive (750GB) and it is amazingly quiet and cool. If I had to replace the internal drive because the current drive failed, I'd put it inside. I'll trade a bit of pure performance for the efficiency (including low noise), and these drives are more advanced with higher data density and larger cache, so the trade-off from slower spin rate may not be so bad.
You can check your current drive's model number (which is shown in System Profiler) to get the specs online. The stock drive in my old +Late 2006+ iMac is a 7200 RPM drive. The Caviar Black is a 7200 RPM drive, with a newer design. So if you want to use a Caviar Black in there, I think it would be OK.

what is the best time to set for my iMac intel to get to sleep? the default is 10 minutes, i am changing it to 1 houirs but i put the sleep time for my monitod 10 minutes. is it decent?

steve359 wrote: The longer it runs, the shorter the expected life (just plain logic),
but if it MUST run 24x7, then likely one has budgeted for a new system
    within 3 years anyway.
Not so sure of that "just plain logic." Allowing  sleep too often will cause wear on the drive -- excessive spin up and spin down. Temperature permitting, a drive will last longer if just left running.
For other hardware, a lot will have to do with the internal temps. When it's quite hot here, I allow the computer to sleep more often. But otherwise, it's a bit of this and a bit of that. I wouldn't personally recommend running 24/7, although I know of several here who claim they do, with no apparent adverse effects over many years.

  • What version of Oracle should I use?

Hi, Opologies for such a basic question. I am new to Oracle and need to create a fairly small database for a final year university project. The project will require me to pull information from a database using a Korne shell script running in Linux.
What version of Oracle should i download? Does this come with some sort of development tool?
Many thanks for any help that could be given!

    Hi,
For using Final year College project,
you have to show your expertise and knowledge in that - correct.
my suggestion you have to go for oracle 9i.
Almost all of the company still in oralce 8, 8i.
Now changes has come from last 3 month, they are upgrading to oracle 9i.
you would be shown your knowledge in that, after completing your project, based on this.
you will get entry immediate -
    Ok.

  • What frame rate timeline should I use for 1080p 60fps premiere pro

When using 1080p 60fps clips what sequence should I use when creating a timeline that would work the best for slow mo application?
I read that you should use a 24 fps timeline but i'm not sure?
Also I have a few 720 @ 120 fps, should I create a separate sequence for that and what kind of timeline should I use since cs5 only has 1080 @ 60fps option?

24 is a good frame rate for most animations but some people like 30 and for the max stress on user systems and animation smoothness, use 60.

  • What external Hard drive should I use for Final Cut Pro?

    Hi:
I have a Mac Pro and I'm planning to work with HD. What external hard drive should I use?
PD: I have a NVIDIA on a PCI Express graphic slot.
    Thanks,

You'll need to be much more specific; there are 20 or 60 different kinds of high definition. Some require nothing, some require superfast RAID, some require specialized hardware support.

  • What version of firefox should i use on my macbook pro 2011

I keep getting a message to update my computer to 3.6.16 and I think I did but the popup on my computer still says 3.6.13.  I also tried to download Firefox 4 from the Mozilla website.  I don't know what version I am really using now.  My computer is taking forever to change from one screen to another, so I'm pretty sure I screwed it up somehow.  Thanks for any help I can get.

Your choice what version. Standard wisdom is always use the latest  and therefore most secure.  Not all add-on's are ready to go for the latest versions however.

    Thank you Abhishek and Sjoerd..
I will download the version suggested..
I have one more question in the AS 10.1.2.0.2 Installation.
which version of 10g database can be used to hold metadata repository that is ready to use with AS 10.1.2.0.2. as we are getting the following issue with existing database version 10.2.0.1 when we run the following command:
    MRCA_HOME\repca\prereq>DBPrereqChecker.bat -DBHOST <DB-HOST> -DBPORT <DB-POR> -DBNAME <SERVICE-NAME> -SYSPWD <SYS-PWD> -LOGDIR F:\MRCA_HOME\assistants\repca\log

The sga_target initialization parameter needs to be set to 600MB or a greater value. Please correct
    it and try again.
The db_cache_size initialization parameter needs to be set to 144MB or a greater value. Please corre

The shared_pool_size initialization parameter needs to be set to 175MB or a greater value. Please co

The sessions initialization parameter needs to be set to 400 or a greater value. After changing the
value of the parameter, restart the database for the new value to take effect.
The Database does not contain Ultra Search Schemas WKSYS and/or WKPROXY. Please install them and try
again. Refer Database Install Guide and Ultra Search User Guide for more information.

  • What external hdd bus should I use for FCP 7?

Howdy! My colleague and I are editing a film in FCP 7, and media handling has become somewhat, complicated, shall we say. So we decided that we're both going to buy external hard drives, and keep them in synch using something like Super Duper, or Carbon Copy Cloner. I've been doing some research, but I'm still unsure as to what connection I should use? We're both using MacBook Pro's with firewire 800 ports, and USB 2.0 ports (No thunderbolt). Since these drives are going to be used exclusivly for video and audio, how fast of a connection should we have so that the connection doesn't cause a bottle neck? I know that Sata III can do up to 6.0 Gb/s, but I also know that a hard drive can't utilize that much bandwidth. So will USB 2.0 slow it down, or would it be fast enough? Or should I opt for firewire 800?
This is the hard drive I'm looking at getting, and I'll put it in an external encloser:
    http://http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145475&nm_mc=EMC -IGNEFL082611&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL082611-_-EMC-082611-Index-_-InternalHardDrives-_- 22145475-L0B
    Thanks!
    Paul
    P.S. is 5200rpm's enough, or should I get 7200rpm?

If you plan to use the drive for editing/rendering media files, you'll need a 7200rpm drive and a Firewire or eSATA connection.
If you're only using the drive for backup purposes or general data storage, USB and 5400rpm will work.
