What version of QuickTime goes with FCP 6.0.3?

I'm running OS X.4.11 and I've gotta be careful how far I take QuickTime for the sake of other applications on my rig. I can't seem to find spec info to tell me what version of QT runs with 6.0.3.

Does anyone know what version of Quicktime will work with Movie Captioner on a MacBook Pro, OSX version 10.2?

If you have a MacBook Pro you can't be running OS 10.2. If you are running OS 10.2, you have some other model Mac, not a MacBook Pro.
Can you provide the correct info?

  • What version of Quicktime is best for Final Cut Pro version 6.0.5?

    Hello,
Could anyone tell me what version of Quicktime works best with Final Cut Pro version 6.0.5? Currently I have QT version 7.6.2.
Unfortunately, all the clips are digitizing at 640 x 480 instead of 720 x 480 (I have trashed prefs and checked the sequence settings and Easy Setup, both are set at NTSC 720 x 480). I have also completely re-installed FCP from the original disks.
When I digitize a clip, it digitizes at 640 x 480. When I open the clip itself and look at the properties, the "Presentation" is set to "Clean" (640 x 480) instead of "Classic" (720 x 480). It keeps defaulting to Clean, and therefore digitizing at 640x480.
Should I uninstall QT and go back to an earlier version? If so, which one would be best? Or is there an easier way to solve this problem?
Thank you in advance for any help. I've been struggling with this problem for over a week.

You list Sequence settings and Easy Setup, but is there any chance your Capture Preset somehow got tweaked to NTSC 4x3 (640x480), instead of it's normal setting of DV NTSC 3x2 (720x480)
From the extent of troubleshooting steps you've taken, this would be unlikely, but heck your Capture Preset and make sure it's correct.

  • How can you tell what version of Quicktime you have?

How do you determine what version of Quicktime you have on your computer? What version do you need for a new 30G Video iPod? How do you upgrade versions, if necessary?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Open a QT document and use the Help menu, where you should see an item labeled (I believe) About Quicktime Player. That should tell you the version running the player.
You need QT Pro and QT 7 to have a preset for iPod video. You probably can use QT 6 if you use these settings in making an mpeg-4 video:
"MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 mbps, 480x480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats<<
QT 7 is available for download from the Apple site by clicking on

  • What version of ARD comes with Tiger?

What version of ARD comes with Tiger? Do I need to go out and buy 3.0 in order to connect to other computers in my network?
I tried setting it up in the sharing section but when I entered the address in Safari it wouldn't work. Am I completely clueless or am I supposed to go out and buy ARD in order to connect to other computers in my network?
I would like to be able to connect with all of the other macs in my home.

So basically what I have only allows other computers to see me. I can't see other computers?
Correct, not unless you purchase Apple Remote Desktop, or get a (free) VNC application which would allow you to take control of other systems (the ARD client uses VNC's protocol for observation and control, so all you would need is the software for the administration system). Many people use Chicken of the VNC successfully (don't be confused by the terminology; in VNC parlance, "client" is what goes on the admin system).

What version of iLife works with Snow Leopard 10.6.8, and where can I buy it?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You can install the latest version, iLife '11. It's available at the Mac App Store, but the versions available there aren't compatible with Mac OS X Snow Leopard, so you have to get iLife '11 on a DVD at eBay or Amazon > http://www.amazon.com/Apple-MC623Z-A-iLife-VERSION/dp/B003XKRZES
After installing it, open  > Software Update, and install the most recent version for Snow Leopard

What version of itunes works with windows 7 64 bit?  Must I use a beta version of cloud?  I generally don't want to use beta versions of software.

It should work (many, many people have it working fine) though Windows7 was officially released only 2 days ago and iTunes has not had an update since then.

  • What version of Quicktime Player X is updated to if updating to 10.7.5?

Does anyone know what version of Quicktime Player X is updated to when you update the OS to 10.7.5? Currently, I am running Quicktime Player 10.1, but wasn't sure if it would stay at 10.1 or get updated to 10.2.
Also, has it been verified that Quicktime 10.2 will work on Lion?
    Thanks!

    1. QuickTime Player 10.1.
    2. It won't.

What version of Lightroom works with Photoshop CS3?

They are different programs, so I imagine they all work with CS3.  I don't use Lightroom, but I think Lightroom's ability to interface with Photoshop has evolved over the different versions, but I can't think how the Photoshop version would affect that, so the later the Lightroom version, the better.
BTW Lightroom 6 is rumoured to be coming very soon.

What version of iphoto works with os x maverick?

This screenshot shows which previous versions of iPhoto are compatible with Mavericks.  It also indicates which versions qualify for a free upgrade to iPhoto 9.5.1 and which require a purchase:
Note 1:  every day more users are reporting problems with iPhoto 8.1.2 so I've included it in the non compatible category.
Note 2:  If your previous version of iPhoto was iPhoto 7 (08) or earlier you'll need to download and run the iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.1 application on the library before opening it with iPhoto9.5.1.

  • What version of QuickTime?

I have assembled a Director projector application that
features a handful of QuickTime video files. In my projector app,
I've considered people who may not have QuickTime installed on
their computer, so I've put the install file for the latest
versions of QuickTime on the CD that will accompany my projector
app. Both for PC and Mac.
In my Director projector app, I've put a line of code that
checks the user's computer for the pressence of QuickTime 7.0 or
higher. Now, I'm wondering if it might be better if I changed the
line of code to check for a lower version of QT or not...
So here's my question: How can I find out what the minimum
version of QuickTime will play my QuickTime video files?
If say version 4 of QuickTime will play my videos without any
trouble, then I'd like to change the line of code to check for
version 4 or higher. Get me?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

    > So here's my question: How can I find out what the

That would probably be dictated by the codecs that ship with
    each
release. Which codec did you encode your video files with?
Here are a couple of documents relating to the last couple of
    versions

  • What HDV model will fit with fcp HD 4.5?

Hi to all of you there. I own fcp 4.5 and upgraded it to the hd version. Now i want to buy a hdv camera. I saw that sony is selling the hdr-hc3 model. Will this camera work with my version of fcp? If not, what model will work? Do i have to upgrade fcp again?

FCP HD (4.5) will not work with HDV footage since the HDV format came out much later than this version did. You'll need to upgrade to Final Cut Studio (FCP 5) to work with HDV natively. http://www.apple.com/universal/crossgrade/
Or you can use a program such as HDVxDV to convert your footage to DV for editing with FCP HD. http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/hdvxdvwright.html
