What version of Win 7 for my MBP?

Using Boot Camp, I fancy installing Win 7 pro on my MBP with 10.9 to run non mac compatible progs such as Alc120 and Nero.
How can I tell if I need a 32bit version of W7 or a 64?....or..if either, which would be best?

Cheers guys. I am new to MacOs but from day one of my MBP I was hooked.
I have been a Windows guy for many many years from W95 (with USB support....LOL) but Win8 was just the last straw. Win7 was/is my last MS product.
Having built systems etc, I wasnt keen to get a Retina with everything soldered down and I like a tweak or two so went with an optical drive and some room to manouver.

Windows editions have a habit of being confusing.
The Home flavors of Vista and 7 usually have the stuff most people want in Windows turned on by default--namely gaming stuff, family controls and media organization and sharing tools. But they can't join a domain nor do they offer fine-grain control over user privileges. These editions limit the Backup tools to local documents only, as opposed to a full system backup in other editions. File encryption is turned off as well.
Media Cebter and Parental Controls are permanently disabled in Pro, but you have full networking power and the ability to make complete backups. Games are turned off by default, but can be loaded (unless you're running the 64-bit Intel 965 (X3100) display driver; under that condition, games crash frequently)

What's the typical benchmark for 17" mbp c2d?

Did anyone here run the bencmark testing?
my feeling -
#1) machine is running just cool (a little hotter than my previous compaq laptop)
#2) hard disk making some noise
#3) speed is just fine, I assume the speed will boom after installing leopard since the c2d is 64-bit architecture
#4) screen is georgious

On a dusty/ sticky table, 4 little round feet near the corners of the unit, leave their imprint on whatever the mbp has been sitting on. They do smudge if you'rre not careful when you pick it up, then they smudge or your fingers can leave a mark in the dust too.

Hi, ive found many games I want to play are pc only, and I have the new 21.5 inch Imac. So I have turned to trying Bootcamp. So I was wondering what version of Windows 7 is best for bootcamp? And a link would help greatly too!

32-bit sees 3.5 GB RAM max.
64-bit Home sees 16 GB RAM max.
64-bit Pro sees 192 GB RAM max, and has an XP mode for older programs.
64-bit Pro may not be worth the extra cost for your situation.

I have a vb2005 program that uses the AcroPDDoc class to merge two pdf files and saves the new pdf to another name. The program then cycles through a list of the new pdf files and sends them to a network printer. I have Adobe Acrobat Standard 8.0 on my pc and the program runs great but when I try to run it on another pc with Abode 6.0 I get the following error message.

Thanks for getting back to me. I do have Adobe Acrobat 6.0, Acrobat Distiller 6.0, Adobe Reader 6.0 and Adobe Reader 9.0 on the pc. Should Acrobat version 6.0 run AcroPDDoc?

Illustrator 12 ( CS2 ) definitely, 13 ( CS3 ) maybe. You might even be able to use 14 ( CS4 ), depending on CPU.

I just purchased a headset (speakers and mic) for my parents' PC. I have already tested it and it works. I wouldn't say it works beautifully but, when making a video-call, me on my Mac, my dad on his PC, I could hear him. Since I only payed quite a low price for it I don't expect it to perform like a BOSE device. So, it was somewhat okay.
When I tried the same device with my Mac, it doesn't seem to register anything that the microphone is supposed to pick up. I wonder why? The System Preferences Sound Pane was showing the line-in input level to the max.
If I, on the other hand, connected something like the a sound-system line out into the Mac's audio-in port, then it seems to work flawlessly. I don't understand, what are the specifications the microphone has to have in order to work with a MBP?
I know USB or bluetooth are both options, both I have used and both work. Why can't a regular mike work like that? Why can't it work at least just the way it works on a PC?

YouVideo and Audio Downloader(what version I can use) for my Firefox 3.6.28, I'm running OSX 10.5.8

I cant download youtube videos from my Firefox 3.6.28 version for my older PowerPC G5 Quad. I need to know the version of add-on, "YouVideo and Audio Downloader" that I use. I have never used this add-on before, not on my mac computer. I'm running OSX 10.5.8 and my version of Firefox version 3.6.28 is the only current version I can use. Appreciate any help!

There are seven different download links for Sports Tracker, depending on S60 version and phone model. The 6650 fold is not listed for any of them.
I'm hoping the app runs on the 6650 fold, and the page simply has not been recently updated with newer phone models.

Try the version for S60 v3.2 devices like the N96 and 6220 classic as they have the same operating system.

There is no guarantee that it will work as the 6650 fold is not a normal nokia model, it's a custom made network model. It is worth trying though.

Open a QT document and use the Help menu, where you should see an item labeled (I believe) About Quicktime Player. That should tell you the version running the player.
You need QT Pro and QT 7 to have a preset for iPod video. You probably can use QT 6 if you use these settings in making an mpeg-4 video:

I downloaded CS2 from the Adobe site BEFORE this recent notice was posted and it is the only version that I have and use.
The new notice is VERY confusing, because if you were a prior purchaser of it originally, why would you need their newly supplied serial number (which is what I use since I was NOT a prior purchaser. But again, when I downloaded and installed CS2 there was no such notice).
I suggest that you see if it downloads, installs and works with that serial number, as free is always better than not! (especially since it is known that iMac G5's are prone to hardware failure from bad capacitors! I had many of them...)
