What vidio Format for N95 8gb

hi all
i was wondering what format do i have to do to get any films to play on the n95 8gb. i have a few divx films on my comp but am not able to transfer them onto my phone. as the n95 will not reconise them & what program should i use to change the divx files so the phone will reconise them.
any help would be great.
please try to keep it simple as i,m not good this new phone as yet.

You don't necessarily have to convert them, use DivX player mobile: http://mobile.divx.com/mobile (it's free), or coreplayer (http://coreplayer.com commercial software).
If you really want to convert them, I recommend Xilisoft video converter (http://xilisoft.com/video-converter.html)

Problem with One Touch Access for N95 8GB

Hi,
I'm having problem connecting my N95 8GB to the Internet via NSeries One Touch Access PC Suite using my Bluetooth. I can connect via cable but bluetooth I cannot.
This is the error message giving me:
"Failed to connect to the network! One Touch Access could not connect to the selected device."
Pls help and advise. Tnx in advance.

I found a situation where your error message appears. It is the case when the nokia is connected using the data transfer mode and simultaneously the OneTouch Application is started. Then the device is not recognized by the modem software. The PC Suite mode is required for the OneTouch Application.
In my situation I think I already saw all of the possible error messages described in the documentation during the various experiments.
For example I tried to uninstall and reinstall the cable drivers. Unfortunately the driver page of N95 8GB does not include them only the page of N95. This was a step towards success - what concerns the OneTouch Application.
Sometimes it is useful to switch off and on the phone, specially when it is not possible to connect with the modem driver.
In my opinion the possibility of completly uninstalling the Nokia Suite is missing. You can uninstall all parts but after reinstallation the Nokia Phone Browser is no more available, the icon is not displayed. All the software packages are working fine even the modem drivers but not the Phone Browser.

hi excuse my ignorance but what does the v20.0.016 update give you apart from crashing ngage, now sorted, cant find anything obvious.

Message language for n95 8gb

i have just bought a n95 8gb and when i go to write an sms, it is set on chinese letters. i know how to change it to abc but does anyone know how to save that selection so i dont have to do this every time. cheers

I have been asking the same thing too with the N95-3. If you look at the specs some of the phones running s60 v3rd FP2 it is clear that N95's if they are -1,-2,-3,-4 can all run S60 v3rd FP2 instead we are stuck on s60 v3rd FP1. Everyone who has bought a phone within the past year and a half are left behind. I've sent emails to Nokia asking if there will be an update but they said no. For this reason I will no longer get a Nokia becuase you will get left behind and if you buy one of their newer phones the same thing will happen where they will have two different versions of what is essentially should technically be the same OS!!

I've linked to a site with a good tutorial, and given my own hints on how to sign your own application.
However Scoobyman is 100% right in saying that the 'symbian signed' website, that you (or anyone else doing it for you) have to use to complete the signing process is only sporadically offering this service at the moment.
I personally would not give your imei number to anyone that you don't know, as I'm pretty sure they can do some bad stuff with it if they wanted to.

New update for N95 8gb not showing

a software update for the n95 8gb has been announced recently, but when i go to update, it doesn't show the latest version in the updater.
I assume nokia haven't got it up yet, despite stating on the site that it is available. This has some fairly essential updates such as flash.
Am i being impatient?

Windows 98 drivers for N95 8GB

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if there is any way to get the N95 8GB to operate under Windows 98 as a modem? The only reason is so that I can connect up my dad's pc using the hsdpa connection instead of his sloooow dial-up connection. I don't need the pc suite to work... I just want to get an internet connection, nothing more. Could I use a bluetooth dongle on the pc and establish a connection that way?

No it is not available in N95 8GB.. Why?! there is no obviuos reasons .. maybe it is commercial issues... since it is available on N95..
but Microsoft in the near future is going to charge for Mobile Messenger and it will not be free anymore...

I was given this address to try on my mobile and it worked on my n95 8gb, i didnt join i just signed straight in, plus you can sign into all your sites in one go if you like. have a look ide be interested to know if it helps. type http://m.ebuddy.com into your mobile browser, you will see a list msn mobile, aim mobile, yahoo mobile, google talk mobile, my space IM mobile, facebook and so on, just click on the one you want and sign in as normal.

I have V 10.0.021 and plain to upgrade but I don't want fw with bugs this mine work ok. Which fw after this is the best?

With the default N95 8G broser this site does't exist, but if i use Opera Mini it works fine. The problem is that that link i received in a SMS and when i try to open it ALWAYS de default N95 broser runs........
The firmaware version of N95 8G is v 1.2.011

Vista style search function for N95 8gb?

Hi
Is there anyway to search the whole of the N95? I know there is the built in search option but it never finds anything that I know is somewhere on the phone.
What would be great is a vista style search where you can put a few letters or a word in and it scans the whole PC to find it.
Like today I saved a webpage, it saved itself as a .jsp, then it just said "saved" without telling me where it was saved to, cant find it anywhere!

What export format for best resolution and 4:3 aspect ratio

I am putting together a DVD for my son's hockey season. It is a mixture of Livetype stuff, imported DV clips (Not HD), and using a program called Photo To Movie for my photo montage's.
I have about 2 mins of livetype stuff, and about 2 mins of an export from "Photo to movie" in iMovie DV (NTSC) format
Now I'm doing a few dry runs to see if this newbie can get this to DVD using iDVD. Now when I burn it, and I play it on a standard DVD player on a standard 4:3 ratio TV, I'm seeing a black bar on the top and on the bottom.
The only way I get those bars to go away is if I export from FCE in Streaming DV format (export using quicktime options and choosing DV Streaming (then imported into iDVD), but I'm feeling my quality is lower as a result. Am I off here? Is there a format that has high export quality .
I'm new to mac, and am not accustomed to "Exporting" and "Importing" and maybe I'm screwing something up during those events. I just think my video quality may be suffering because I can only get DV Streaming to not have the black bars when burning with iDVD.
Any advice would be appreciated asap.

I'm exporting from FCE and I then use it in iDVD. My brain is fried, and I may have not been clear on the following: I export from FCE using File => use quicktime conversions.
Now when I export to straight-up Quicktime (not use quicktime filters), and then take that Quicktime file into iDVD it gives me a "Widescreen Preview" and when I take the next step and burn to DVD and play on a 4:3 aspect TV it comes out with the black bar on top and bottom (Which I believe is letterbox?)
So that being said, I'm at a loss as to why there are letterboxes in iDVD.

It appears they are going from "Photo to Movie" straight into iDVD and having a similar issue. The big difference is that I'm using FCE before I go to iDVD.

App similar to 'poynt' for N95 8gb

I was wondering if anyone knew of a app for the N95 similar to that of blackberry's 'poynt'. Its an app that allow you to view movie timings of any movie near you based on the theatre or the movie itself. Its also integrated with the GPS so you can quickly get directions to the movie theatre.

My friend showed me poynt on his Blackberry today and I tried to go on the website only to find that it's just for Bberry's and I phone.
Do not despair though there is an app called Near Here in Ovi Store very similar I have downloaded that onto my E71 and I have to say I think it is as good as Poynt maybe not as aesthetically pleasing but the information is all there.
