What websites do Apple use to demonstrate their products?

Everytime Apple releases a new product or show pictures of it online they always use beautiful websites that really demonstrate the best of the product.
These are third party websites like photography, music, art, architecture, design, food and travel websites etc that are usually of a really minimal but great aesthetic design.
I just wondered if there has ever been a list of the website used compiled?

  • What app is Apple using to make THEIR website?

I can build gorgeous (to me) websites with iWeb, but the coding is overly verbose and the site always slow to load.
So I'm just wondering what Apple uses to build their main website? Which is slick, fast, and good-looking.
    Ben

There is really no way to know what Apple uses to build their site.
There is no reason why you can not make a good looking, fast site in iWeb. The only reason why your website may not look as nice is because you are probably not a professional website designer like the people behind Apple's site.
If your site is too slow consider reducing the number of images you use on your website, making sure your text is not converted to images, you switch to a real web hosting provider and not rely on MobileMe, and you run your iWeb website through a web site optimizer.

  • What program is apple using to make there website?

I was wondering (because I would like a website as powerful as apples and as easy to use as iweb). What Program did apple use to make there website and do you need multiple programs to do those things such as. the way buttons are animated not using flash, and the search function, and forums and store, etc.
Anyways, this aught to be an interesting discussion

  • What SSD do Apple use in MacBook Pro (Early 2011)

Hi, my MacBook is becoming a little sluggish (3 and half years of solid use) so I'm looking to give it a bit of a facelift, I've upgraded the RAM but I've read that changing from HD to SSD will improve my performance significantly, so what SSD do Apple use that will be suitable for my MacBook or can anyone reccommend anything better?
Also when I do swap to SSD if I do a backup on time machine right before, then install the new SSD, will it allow me to just restore from backup to the new drive?
    Thanks

    LukeCarberry,
you can use any SATA SSD with a 2.5 inch form factor, up to 9.5 mm tall. Your Early 2011 MacBook Pro would get best performance with a SATA III SSD, with a 6.0 Gb/s burst throughput rate. Popular SSD choices here include various models from Crucial, OWC, and Samsung, but there are certainly more options available.
If your SSD has a capacity no smaller than that of your current HDD, then you should be able to restore a Time Machine backup onto your SSD.

what app do people use to make their pictures look like this?

Apparently redchainsaw answered back saying that wasn't it. Though looking at the pictures I see nothing odd or special about them.
With that said however, there are many image editors in the App store, and the Instagram App does have several filters you can apply to the photos.   So its very possible that is it.

  • Nvidia 6800M Card in MacBook Pro 2.5 -what card is Apple using for repairs?

    The Nvidia 6800M Card:
Am getting one of the outgoing MacBook Pros Early 2008 with 2.5 GHz 250 HD and 512MB VRAM. I thought this model was not one of those with the defective Nvidia 6800M Card. Apple didn't list the 2.5 GHz machine on their website as one of those with the bad card.
Now I'm certain that this machine too has the defective card (based on all the web info and evidence that Nvidia never fixed or altered their production processes on this and it was a soldering defect).
If Apple replaces it with a new logic board presumably -- will it have the exact same type of 6800M card or a new, revised one? <edited by host>
Those of you getting a repair --- what kind of card do you have now? Can they put a different video card on there???
Am very worried as I don't game but bought this thing for graphics on the side and home use. I may not "stress it" sufficiently with CS 3 Suite so problem may not manifest until after AppleCare runs out. I want this machine to last 5 -- 7 years. Should I return it and get hit with open box fees???

    hepatica,
there is a repair program in place stating that should the GPU fail as a result of the defect, your warranty will be extended to two years and the repair will be free of charge. if you happen to get applecare, it's free of charge to fix anyways.
the support article also says that the affected models were manufactured between may 2007 and september 2008.
that being said, i don't think all of the 8600M GTs are defective. should a repair be necessary at this point (or a year from now, when the GPU usually fails for most people who have had it fail), i can confidently say that it would be replaced with a revised chip since nvidia has corrected the problem this past summer (as stated by another poster). the new revision should be free from the defect.
apple would not put in a different GPU (eg: the 9600M GT) than the one it came with.

  • What websites are designed using Flex?

I am a newbie to Flex and wanted to explore further. How do I get started? leads will be helpful.
What kind of websites are developed using flex?

Replace websites with applications.  In RIA world, old school web developers need to get out of that "website" mindset and start thinking of their end products as mobile desktop applications.
Not that you couldn't create any website in Flex, but the trend for simple websites still tends to be towards legacy non-RIA technologies for some reason.

  • HT202696 What happens if Apple Support expires for a product?  Does it mean there is no more help available and you are on your own just because you have an older Apple product?

We have a family of Apple products at home, and with every new one, we learn a new aspect of the Apple Life.  After switching to iPhone 5S and struggling between some applications, I've decided it is time to upgrade rest of my older devices requesting an IOS Upgrade to 8.1.2 for weeks.
My older iPhone 4 didn't have an upgrade, which was not advanced enough anymore to carry a new software, this I understand.  The upgraded iPod Touch and iPad Mini don't seem to have any problems with the recent changes so far.  However, the older iPad (2) we had is messed up, just like many other people's as mentioned on the pages of these discussion groups.  According to these user comments / complaints, it is obvious that upgrading to IOS 8.1.2 was not the right option to older version iPads just like it was not for iPhone 4; actually it shouldn't be an option in the first place.
On my previous problems with iPhone 5S, I've come to realise the practicality & functionality of the Apple Support system when contacted directly, instead of going through many discussion pages of people with same or similar problems where everybody is asking but just a few is replying.  So, I wanted to give it a try to find a solution to my recent problems with iPad, but this time Apple Support pages replied with "Technical Support & Service Coverage are both Expired" message.
First, I did not know that Apple supported its users personally, and I loved it.  Maybe this is because I didn't have previous problems with my old iPhone and iPad.  Especially the Apple Support - Chat option I preferred, where I got help step-by-step from Apple operators.  And then, I did not know that this service support was only for my devices until an expiration date, and this did not please me much.
Can anyone enlighten me on how to receive any response from Apple about what to do with problems of an old Apple device?

And as far as paying for phone support, here are a few tips:
If you call your carrier first and then they route you to Apple, you usually don't have to pay for phone support.
If you are talking to Apple and they ask you to pay a support fee, ask if you can get an exception this time.  That usually works once, but they keep track of the times you've been granted such an exception.
If you still end up paying the support fee, that fee only applies if it's not a hardware related issue.  In other words, if it can be fixed by just talking over the phone and following Apple's instructions, then the fee applies.  But if your device is deemed to have a hardware failure that caused the issue, then the fee should not apply, and you can ask for it to be waived after the fact.
This forum is free, and almost all of the technical support articles the Apple tech advisors use are available on this website.  Literally 99% of what they can do over the phone is just walking you through the publicly available support articles.  In other words, you're paying the fee to have them do your research for you.  It's like hiring a research consultant to go look stuff up in the public library so you don't have to.  You're capable of doing it; you'd just rather pay someone to do it for you.
It's like Starbucks.  You know how to make coffee.  Everyone knows how to make coffee.  And Starbucks coffee isn't any better than what you could make at home for far less.  But you want the convenience.  So you're really paying a convenience fee.  Milk is more expensive at 7-Eleven than it is at the grocery store... because it's a convenience store.

  • What Apple used to make training movie?

    Hello everyone,
Does everyone know what application(s) Apple used to make a training movies, that often come with bundle software such as Final Cut Studio, Aperture??? I am looking for something similar and heard that, Adobe Captive 2 will do something like this, but there is no Mac version at the moment?
Thank you very much for every bit of info.
    regards,
    james

    Hi Calum,
I too have and use Snapz X Pro but I want something extra, such as zoom in/out, moving around, get some descriptive piece of info while performing some zoom-in (such as Aperture training DVD, when Apple introduces "Loupe" and "Scroll-bar" functions - they got a smooth "zoom-in" and close-up to the screen, with which you can't have Snapz X)
    Anyway thanks for your info.
    James

  • What site can I use to factory unlock an iPhone?

What website can I use to pay for iPhone unlocking services? I need a secure, affordable and efficient one. I have an iPhone from Verizon and I want to factory unlock it. Please help me out here.

The Verizon 4S is a CDMA and GSM dual band phone.  My experience with Verizon is that they will open the GSM module for international travel, but only through their service (in conjunction of partners in Europe, etc.).  It's expensive.  My wife found out when she went to Egypt last year.
Verizon does unlock iPhones for international use. However, what you're describing is activating international roaming, (which has more to do with your account than your hardware.)  Yes, that's expensive. If you get the phone unlocked, you can get a SIM from another country and it will be much cheaper.

  • What screw driver is used to unscrew MacBook Pro screws

I just got a new 13" MacBook Pro with all standard parts. I'm a mobile DJ and will eventually need more hard drive space and RAM. I know how to upgrade both and found upgrades for it, but I would like to have the proper tools to do this. I need the tools to remove the back panel, and the screws from the hard drive and need to know what those tools are and the sizes. A link would be very helpful.

They are very reliable. I have used many of their products including memory, hard drives, SSDs, and toolkits. I have no complaints.
As far as memory is concerned, the brand is not very important as an indicator of quality. Most all sources are reliable especially if they are sold as Mac memory. In addition to OWC, I have relied on DataMem for my memory.

  • Capturing screen to movie – need tools that Apple use

I've seen this video tutorial about Leopard: http://www.apple.com/macosx/guidedtour/
pay attention to zoom-in and zoom-out effects. I need these effects in my video lessons too. What tool does Apple use? It's seems that it's not Snapz Pro. What can it be?

I am pretty sure that is done in the editing stages.
(bring screen capture in to final cut pro, and zoom / pan / etc.)
