I really want to stream full episodes from CBS.

I don't think that website is optimized for iPad, and the developers have blocked the app from airplay. Each site, much like the apps, would need to enabled for airplay so its hard to say.

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is critical. Note that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free apps without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)

How to stream from iPad to apple tv via airport express with the airport express being connected to the internet

I have an apple tv, iPad 3 and airport express. Im at school and the apple tv is technically not supported by the network. Ive read that one could use AirPlay to apple tv via AE.
Can someone help me make this work? Step by step process if possible.

The router does provide WIFI, but the thing is the Apple TV will be out of reach. I want to avoid having two routers / networks. That's why Apple TV is hardwired. The AirPort (also hardwired) should only work as a receiver for the iPhone - streaming iPhone content to the Apple TV.
BOTH the Apple TV and the AirPort Express are AirPlay "speakers." That is, you can stream from iTunes to either device. You don't need both if the Apple TV is hardwired to an existing router. That provided the necessary networking for AirPlay to stream over. Wi-Fi is NOT required for AirPlay if you have a wired connection between the AirPlay "server" (i.e., iTunes host) and the AirPlay "speaker."
The Apple TV would work as a "receiver" for your iPhone.
If AirPlay is an application layer software, how may two AirPlay device communicate directly? Normally all communication is relayed by the access point.
AirPlay is a streaming protocol that runs over TCP/IP. AirPlay "speakers" DO NOT communicate with each other directly. The basic communication path is between an AirPlay "server" and an AirPlay "speaker" or multiple "speakers." Again the path between them can be either be wired or wireless or some combination of each.

There is no browser on Apple TV and there are specific native apps offered. However, you can use airplay mirroring to stream the contents from your computer.
The built-in option requires a Mac from 2011 or later, running OSX 10.8 or later. However, there are 3rd party options like Airparrot.

I have an apple tv and have an airport extreme wifi. I have no problem streaming netflix or movies I rent on apple tv. The issue I have is a movie rented on an ipad. I downloaded it in the afternoon and can play it in the ipad but the moment I try to use airplay to show it on my tv screen thru ATV, the screen shows a status bar and it seems to be downloading something. I though I could stream this without delay.

(YouTube movies are nowhere near the 4-5 Mbps of HD rentals/purchases)

Only sound when I stream from iPad to Apple TV

Hi I have a new iPad and I am currently using Apple TV 2 (first version). I just rented a movie from iTunes on the iPad. When I try to stream it to Apple TV I only get sound on my TV. The video stays on the iPad. When I try the same thing with videos I have on the iPad I get sound and video without a problem. The movie I rented was HD 1080p. The viedos on the Ipad are SD. I wonder if the reason is that the Apple TV 2 (first version) does not support 1080p? Or is there another problem?

Before I posted my question yesterday I did check if I had the most currect software on all devices. I also restarded both devices and it did not work.
When I retried one hour later however it suddenly worked like a charm. So waiting did the trick. I guess it's not the perfect solution if it works sometimes and does not the other times. So I am still hoping someone has an idea. Maybe I just have to wait for the next Software Updates and AirPlay ist not at 100% yet.

I've got a bunch of music in iTunes on my iPad and had understood that I could, using home sharing/ airplay, set up so I can stream from iPad to my Denon CEOL system
I thought I'd done this, however now think I've been streaming from itunes on my PC to the Denon (I.e. I switched PC off, and I can't establish a link to control using iPad remote app any longer)
Any views as to how I can wirelessly stream music form iPad to my Denon, or have I totally misunderstood the point of airplay and homesharing?

I have apple tv2 hooked thru Ethernet cable and all of a sudden I cannot use AirPlay to stream from iPad. Will it not stream if ethernet cable is hooked to apple tv?

If you can access your wifi network with another device while standing close to your ATV2, then you must have something wrong in the ATV2 wifi setup. My router is on the floor below where my ATV2 resides and it's also at the other end of the house.
I've found that sometimes when I'm changing the password to access my wifi home network, I have to enter it 2 or 3 times before it will work. The only reason I find myself doing this chore is that for no real good reason, I have 2 networks in my home and one of them seems better for doing air play.
